wow, necro-nxt-scam-threading. please drop me a line as soon some tits are posted here.
(have to pick up some food now to compensate my energy deficit due to typing this nonsense)  Grin
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: April 08, 2015, 09:01:20 PM
is there any reliable launch date?

Nope, they are clever enough to not promise something they can't know.

Instead you can check their progress here: https://github.com/ethereum/go-ethereum/milestones
But it also can go backwards when they detect new bugs.

ok, thx for the link.

105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Daedelus protecting Nxt so hard? on: April 07, 2015, 09:51:32 PM
even if this is a strange question, how about this.

he have seen 100s of useless altcoin passed, looked at NXT and discovered:

1. devs ALWAYS deliver
2. tons of usage scenarios
3. clever and ambitious userspace with interdisciplinary skills
4. has all other coins like to have
5. mass adoptable due to widest functionality in crypto space
6. many very forward-looking projects from high skilled side devs
7. and most important, usable now

there is more but does this makes sense?

u know what? that makes sense. and its true that nxt tech is very good
BUT one thing.
its utterly inpopular and nobody uses it.
thats a real pity. like that it wont go anywhere
it will remain hidden and unused if nothing is changed about real life use of this thing
add more and more tech: ppl wont care more bcuz u add yet another feature ...
right now its safe to say that nxt is a sleeping beast.
but it will probably keep sleeping and sleeping if nxt guys think all that is enough to REALLY shine. its not.

yes, that's a point. it would be a shame if this fine tech would keep sleeping just due to misunderstandings or false accusations.
therefore some nxters are switched over to 'protector mode'.

Consensus Research published it's first paper on Multibranch Forging https://www.scribd.com/doc/248208963/Multibranch-forging (scroll down to view) and just open-sourced simulation tool behind! https://github.com/ConsensusResearch/MultiBranch

So you can play with multiple-branch forging and see it's model in action. For example, being implemented for just future predictions, multiple-branch forging == Transparent Forging. Being implemented for storing past & current blockchain state, it's also subject for Nothing-at-Stake concern. Our next paper will be about N@S, with concrete details, not just unclear statements, as previous studies.  Then we will start to work on proposals to improve proof-of-stake at whole & concrete implementations.

This work is applied not to Nxt only, but all proof-of-stake cryptos.

Please support Consensus Research by providing feedback, spreading the word around, contributing to work, and donating.

We have own subforum on Nxt forum: https://nxtforum.org/consensus-research

good work, thx kushti.

109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WTF is happening with NXT? Fucking Nothing!!! on: November 16, 2014, 08:53:50 PM
FreeMarket is already set up. Why NXT price remains so low???

yes, a valid question. nxt has seen several times such countereffects and it's strange to see
how uncorrelated price vs news within nxtsphere is. imho the reason is the external reach of
these services. there is no doubt (provable), that nxt is the most complete and best equipped
crypto platform currently available but there is a lack to transport this and more important
to form/create and finaly bridge this tech into real world (mass-adaptable) services.

the good message is, that serveral keyfunctions (just look at the tech tree) are released soon,
which are needed, to create exactly these kinds of services. just a matter of months, not years.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WTF is happening with NXT? Fucking Nothing!!! on: November 16, 2014, 08:22:40 PM
(un)fortunatly nxt has the highest ratio of users, interested in advanced, reliable and usable crypto tech, means
the price comes at second. i guess this doesn't match your needs, so in your case i recommend to sell.

Just published post-implementation 2-phased transactions specification: https://nxtforum.org/general/2-phased-transactions-post-implementation-specification/ . I don't know whether it will be in 1.4 or a later release as 1.4. has too many implemented features to be included probably: Monetary System, Coin Shuffling, dividends, alias deletion, Voting System, 2-phased transactions. But I would be happy see businesses around Nxt starting to think about using 2-phased transactions. For example, with Bitcoin's multisig and 2-phased transactions it's possible to provide signature escrow service without money holding on escrow's side.

A world of Nxt-based businesses could be changed a lot with Voting System(https://nxtforum.org/voting-system/voting-system-got-massive-updates/, https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/getting-voting-system-out-the-door/) & 2-phased transactions. Distributed shareholders voting, money spendings controlled by shareholders etc

good news kusthi, thx!

Nxtty is huge, and I know some more ambitious projects in stealth-mode now willing to use Nxt Platform for their applications. And after 1.4.0 (monetary system/voting system/pendable transactions) we see a boost around Nxt Platform I guess.

yes, think the same. 1.4.0 opens the door for usefull apps.

People with Android phones should definitely try the new Nxtty Cryptomessenger! Not only encrypted messaging in private and public chats, but also a cryptowallet for tipping people that post quality content. First users get 2500 free nxttycoins Smiley which are nxt assets by the way.

the price of btc and nxt is falling,

119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's about time to turn off PoW mining on: September 30, 2014, 12:11:39 PM
haven't read the full thread and don't know if this was already mentioned but if not here is another important factor about attack visibilty.

pow - an attack can be hidden prepared, just by accumulating hardware in the dark (unlimited available if really needed), no way to detect this before the attack is already running.

pos - an attack can't be hidden prepared. funds are needed to accumulate/reorged/controlled and a look to peerforging compared to known accounts triggers instant attention.
accumulating mining capacity (buying nxt) would also be seen immediatly on the exchanges.

without any deeper pow knowledge, is this simplified view correct atm?
Yes, you need to secretly order and hide a lot of ASICs with PoW. Go ahead, put in a mega million dollar order from an ASIC manufacturer. I'm sure that can be kept secret. I hope you buy it from BFL.

thx for your confirmation that the above assumed scenario is valid atm.
