Had an idea for writing an event driven trading bot. Just wondered if you thought it would be any good/different to whats out there.
Please do research before even taking this path. There is a belief that cryptocurrency trading and algorithmic trading in general is a zero-sum game. It means you can even build something which will look working, for some time (even quite long), but in the end it will face unavoidable failure. I personally think, it is better to put time and effort into a useful project, which will bring something new to people - innovation, usefulness and you get your reward for this. Those ideas are hard to come by though. I have had a go at trading and know it is hard and boring. Lots of time spent looking at graphs and trying to predict the future. Even if it just did a few simple trades that would be saving me a lot of time and effort. I would say there are many trading bots available in markets. More importantly, have you got any success with trading manually in the past? If yes, then only mechanical trading can be of help. Also, did you backtest your strategy or forward tested it? Do you plan to launch it commercially or using it for personal trading? Please remember: Any system is as good as the trader himself.  |

these last 3 months has swept the ground beneath so many people. loosing makes you emotionally weak and affects your personal life negatively. the trauma is hard to cope with. its always wiseto invest what you can afford to loose. stay safe everyone

point on approachability of founders is always important. If you can't communicate with your investors before raising money, there is a decent chance you wont bother an iota after ico is over.

back then few thousand dollars and you were in top 40. now that few thousands is soft cap for most icos. that means a lot of money is currently flowing inside. with more participation comes more expectations which leads to competitiveness. now is the time for consolidation of market where only fittest shall survive. good for everyone.

I don't even have a top 5 list, I have a top 3 list.
I'm currently only invested in Bitcoin, Steem and Monero and I'm not really looking into any other coins at the moment.
The reason why I'm only interested in the above coins is because I know those coins inside out and use them pretty much daily.
I personally don't like to invest in something that I don't make use of personally. Probably a bit weird though...

cant really comment regarding the price of ethereum but his point regarding some of the tokens getting insane valuations is understandable. sanity comes through corrections we are currently seeing.

currently we are at 600$ appx.
lets assume we grow at 5% every month, so to reach 10k$, it shall take around 5 years.
So patience is the key.
