1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Terminus R808 Miner Official Support Thread on: July 13, 2018, 08:11:23 AM
Just a heads up.  Do not underestimate the importance of a quality power supply source.

My two Terminus were just working fine for many weeks with the plug packs provided with them.  I was always concerned though that the plug packs were running rather hot.  I had attempted overclocking, however I could not get them to be stable above 200MHz.  Then just last week I noticed they were not hashing away any more.  The devices were constantly being restarted.  Inspired by one of the other members on here, I went and found myself a cheap PC power supply with dual 6pin PCIe power connectors.  The two terminus are now hashing away at 275MHz and look to be very stable, without one restart.

ps.  Also looking forward to the new design Sidehack is working on.

Loving the POD miners.

I first had a 2PAC which I got off ebay.  I overclocked it, but the fan I had pointed at it failed which then caused my 2PAC to be fried.

I then contacted Sidehack and purchased 2 x Terminus.  Initially I had problems with one of my pods only seeing 5 chips, but I reflowed it and now I have 2 pods running very reliably at stock 200MHz.  When I try to overclock they seem to restart, so I am guessing they might need a better 12V power supply.

I am also looking forward to the new announcement.

Keep up the good work Sidehack Smiley

Cheers.  Thanks for the response.  I will attempt to setup a username login tonight so that I can track my dust better.

I have a noob question here.  I just received a Terminus R808 pod miner which I pointed to this pool over the weekend.  My miner was online for the last three blocks found.  They have all matured so I would have expected a small fraction to be sent to my online wallet.  Is this amount so small that it gets all eaten up in fees with each transfer?  Just wondering why I have not seen anything yet.

Yes I know it is not profitable.  Just trying to learn the ropes and have some fun.

Thanks.
