Sorry, I don't agree! I don't see what can be good to burn coins! Maybe I don't understand well...
But many coins will be lost on other ways - for example in lost wallets...
I love that coins are NOT burned, but go as fee from one wallet to another!
The idea is that whenever you burn coins, the rest of the coins become more valuable. This is a way to pay a dividend to all QORA holders. In this way, whenever someone ran a service that lots of people were using, it would make QORA itself profitable, and these profits would be given to everyone who had QORA coins, because some coins were burned, making the rest of the QORA that everyone held more valuable. Many of the top coins on CMC use this idea: Ripple, Bitshares, NXT, Counterparty. I think Ethereum will as well. Its a great way to provide value to the coin and get people excited about investing in it. Thanks for the explanations! I knew that of course.... but the burned amount is so less... in my opinion it is much better to pay for services directly and if necessary the fee can be higher! The higher fee would bring more people to forge! |

I have an idea regarding the Qora services that I think could be a big deal for Qora's future.
In some other coins, there is the concept of having the blockchain be profitable. For example, in Ripple, Bitshares, and NXT (3 of the top 10 coins), there are ways in which the currency is burned forever when the services of the blockchain are used. (There are also ways to pay dividends or yield on assets within the system, as another way that profitable enterprises can run in the blockchains.
My idea for QORA is: what if some percentage of the QORA which was spent on these services that we develop was burned forever, thus reducing the QORA supply permanently?
Even if the burned amounts are very small, this could generate a lot of excitement for the coin. This is the entire value proposition behind XRP (the ripple coin), as small amounts of XRP are burned whenever ripple is used. The idea of a deflationary, profitable coin is something that gets a lot of people very excited, and should gather us more support for QORA.
How I imagine this would work is:
There is a community standard that 10% (or some amount) of all payments for the QORA services are permanently burned.
This percentage could be configurable such that the person running the service could set the burn rate (higher burn rates would be more attractive to the QORA community, but if they person needed to burn 0% thats fine, as long as people support them). Alternately, it could be a fixed amount like 10%.
Service providers could either slightly raise their price, or just accept getting slightly less QORA, knowing that the process was very good for QORA itself and was increasing the value of their coins.
What we would need:
* A way for QORA to be burned permanently. Does this exist in the code?
* Code for service providers to set the burn rate of their service.
* Community agreement that this is a good idea, and agreement on what the standard burn rate is, or whether it is up to the service provider. (We could all vote on this in the voting system).
Do you all like this idea? Especially devs working on services, are you opposed to this, or do you like it? We definitely do not want to implement something liek this if it would alienate our developers.
If this is implemented, it could be a powerful idea for us to market to the crypto community to gain more QORA supporters.
yes is simple. only add unspendable pubKey linked to new sendbutton [BURN] and send tx to unspendable key. so its burned forever. i also think this is good idea! it will minimize cap and rise value. Ich bin neu hier und wenn ich mir so einen Thread anschaue, dann bekomme ich das Gefühl, dass die Bitcoin Community ein esoterischer Haufen ist, was ich schade fände, weil ich weiß, dass es viele vernünftige Menschen hier hat und es sich wirklich um eine Technologie mit Potential handelt. Wenn man sich mal Kommentare unter dem Spiegel Artikel anschaut, dann sieht man viele Vorurteile über Bitcoin und wenn man dann hier ins Forum kommt und sich diesen Thread anschaut, der natürlich für viele Neulinge interessant sein dürfte, dann wird schnell klar, dann werden sich da viele Vorurteile bestätigen. Natürlich kann jeder, der Linien zeichnen will, gerne Linien zeichnen, aber da muss man einfach auch mal schreiben dann, dass das keinen großen Wert hat, sonst entsteht noch der Eindruck wir schreiben diesen Linien Wert zu. Wenn wir das tun, welchen Dingen schreiben wir dann sonst noch so Wert zu, die keinen haben? Man muss es wohl "Neulingen" immer mal wieder sagen! Diese Linien zeigen Wahrscheinlichkeiten auf und sie beruhen auf Erfahrungen bzgl. menschlichem Handeln! Keine solche Linie kann mit Sicherheit ein bestimmtes Ergebnis voraussagen, aber diese "Voraussaen" anhand dieser Linien treffen einfach mehr als zu 50 % ein. Und genau DAS will man mit der TA, eine etwas höhere Waahrscheinlichkeit als 50 %, denn damit gewinnt man langfristig und kann es auch verkraften, dass die Linien nicht immer recht haben. |

Ich liege mit meinen Prognosen zwar auch sehr oft daneben... aber so gut wie im Moment hat mir der Kursverlauf schon lange nicht mehr gefallen! Es sieht so aus, als ob da Leute unbedingt kaufen wollen und jede Gelegenheit wahrnehmen, sobald der Kurs etwas zurückkommt. Wenn das so weiter geht, dann KANN der Kurs nicht stark einbrechen....

We the few that have been protecting/investing and donating to the network deserve this .
I agree! We don't want to know private things from @Qora, but at least he can tell us what happened the last time with him! WHY he didn't give us any update? For me it is important to know, does he still believe in his coin? Are there things he cannot handle or what else? PLEASE @Qora, tell us something!!!!! Ich will mich ja auch vor zu großen Erwartungen hüten und halte es dshalb durchaus für möglich, dass der Anstieg der letzten Woche wieder eine klitzekleine "Blase" ist - aber irgendwie finde ich, dass es dieses Mal schon ein wenig anders aussieht, als die letzten, kurzzeitigen Kursanstiege mit dann anschließenden schnellen Abstürzen! Es geht dieses Mal LANGSAMER!!! Und DAS meine ich, ist ein gutes Zeichen, weil es die Trader nicht so sehr zum alsbaldigen Wiederverkauf reizt... Ich bin deshalb GANZ VORICHTIG optimistisch, dass es jetzt doch so langsam wieder Freude machen wird, den Kurs zu beobachten...  |

The voting regarding the new wallet version from the AT team has already gathered votes from the 8% of the balances of Qora holders.  As this poll might be crucial I would like to see people move their balances to either on Yes or No and make a decision from the majority of Qora's holders. So please, motivate yourself a bit to decide what comes next. Maybe not all can find easy where to vote for this poll - since there is no date in all the polls! For me I had to search some time... Go to your wallet "voting", "all Polls" and search for "do you authorise at team to proceed to a new wallet version?" It would be good if there could be added a date - or better if a new poll would pop up in the wallet... |

I am very saddened by the disappearance of @Qora. He has created a very good coin and I would very much hope he would come back. It is very strange that no one here has direct contact with him.
On the other hand, if the community manages that the coin is growing and success ... then that would be perhaps even better than with only one dev...
I will hold my coins and see what will happen...
Good luck for all of us and for @Qora too (if he read this! And perhaps he can tell us why he does what he does...)!

You guys need to just give up, Qora is gone and he sold his coins. Even if he wasn't gone, no one is coming here. Spend your time and efforts elsewhere, trust me. Bitcoin has a much better chance of giving you significant returns. You are not going to get rich off of Qora, trust me.

I love this coin very much and I hope it will success - but how can this be if we are not updated from time to time!!!?
Vrontis and I are part of the team and we are discussing what we are going to do if Qora doesnt show up.
But we have a back up plan, so no worries everybody. In the next 10 days, if Qora doesnt respond, we will come out with a new plan and direction for Qora.
Remember this is a unique 2.0 Gen coin with huge potential. So please all give it some time, we are working on different issues. Thanks @twistelaar!!! I am very glad that this coin have more friends than only me! And I am happy that here are members who will keep it alive and are working for a success (I myself don't have knowledge to help much)... nevertheless I would love to see @Qora here again and he would care for his great coin too... |

What is happening with the blockchain? Since about 2 days there are lot of confusion... always empty blocks, very often no connection, numbers of forged blocks are changing very often... What's the matter? ?? |

Was ist denn nun mit der Aussage innerhalb 24h? Geht Bitstamp demnächst wieder online?
Müssen die, sonst drohen auch Klagen u.s.w.. Dann bricht über die die Hölle herein und die sitzen nächste Woche beim Insolvenzverwalter. Das geht ganz schnell. Die Leute können ja nicht Traden, sind zur Untätigkeit verdammt oder müssen über andere Börsen zusätzliches Geld nachschießen, während Bitstamp auf ihrem Geld sitzt. Jede weitere Stunde spannt die Nerven von Bitstamps Kunden und führt dazu, dass nach dem Neustart mehr Leute abziehen werden. Die Arbeiten jetzt unter Hochdruck Tag und Nacht. Davon könnt ihr ausgehen. Dabei passieren übriges häufig ganz gravierenden Fehler. Die müssen ihr komplettes System neu aufsetzen. Das ist echt hart. Eure Angst ist ein ganz vernünftiges Gefühl. Ich habe dieses Gefühl bei Gox seit Mitte 2013 immer wieder gehabt, aber "erfolgreich" unterdrückt. Und das war einfach nur dumm. Sobald man dieses Gefühl bei einer Börse hat (egal wie wichtig oder angesehen die ist), sollte man sich selbst ernst nehmen und diese Börse verlassen oder die Einlagen zumindest stark reduzieren. Wenn die wieder anfahren, wird sich die Stimmung vermutlich rasch zum Positiven ändern. Begreift das einfach als die Chance dort in Ruhe euer Geld abzuziehen. Wenn die Dinge gut ausgehen könnt ihr jederzeit auf Bitstamp zurück kehren. Macht nicht meinen Fehler. Schaut es euch einfach in Ruhe und gelassen von Außen an. Natürlich könnt ihr auch mit einer anderen Börse Schiffbruch erleiden, aber Bitstamp ist schon jetzt angezählt. Sei doch nicht so unfair! Dieser Vorfall jetzt bei Bitstamp ist doch überhaupt gar kein bisschen vergleichbar mit dem Mt.gox-Debakel!!!!! Bei Mt.gox gar es Monate lang Auszahlugsprobleme, seltsame Bots, keine vernünftige Reaktion und Erklärung dieser Probleme, zum Schluss Trading ohne Auszahlungsmöglichkeit usw. Hier bei Bitstamp wurde sofort kommuniziert,was passiert ist, gewarnt weiterhin Überweisungen zu tätigen, Trading total eingestellt, sofort bestätigt, dass alle Beträge bis zur Warnung voll abgesichert und zurückbezahlt werden, laufend gibt es neue Erklärungen über den Stand der Dinge usw. DAS ist vertrauensbildend!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ich denke nicht, dass dies der Untergang von Bitstamp sein wird, sondern eher das Gegenteil! Dass man nicht all seine Bitcoins auf einer Börse haben sollte, ist allerdings richtig! Aber das wissen wohl inzwischen ALLE! |
