Upgrade done! However... Via ssh the comand cgminer-api version reports: [STATUS] => S [When] => 1400177977 [Code] => 22 [Msg] => CGMiner versions [Description] => cgminer 4.3.2a
[VERSION] => [0] => VERSION [CGMiner] => 4.3.2a [API] => 3.3
But the web interface still refers the old 3.12.1 version... What am I doing wrong? Nothing, it's working perfectly. If you search this thread for that question, you'll see a few posts about that. The web interface > software does not reflect the correct version when updated in this manner. As long as cgminer -V shows correct, you're good.[/code]

Hello, I started mining a couple of days ago with my Antminer S1. Apart from some issues related with wi-fi instability, everything appears to be working well. The S1 is running at 200 MHz, 47ºC, with very few HW. I have been using Nicehash.com pool and my results are in line with the expected outcome, steady hashing speed and very few rejected shares. But when I try to use an auto switching pool (I tried MultiMegaPool) my miner reverts to a backup pool for 5 to 10 minutes every time the stratum on the ASM switches to another coin,. I believe this has been reported many times before as a bug in old versions of cgminer. Are you guys experiencing something similar? Any advice for a noob? How can it be fixed? Update the cgminer in the Antminer? Thank you! Heya, I haven't tried Nicehash.com or MultiMegaPool but I have noticed that when I mine altcoins (SHA256) with my Ants, depending on what coin, the HW varies vastly. I was mining with iSpace.co.uk when mining altcoins. Ant running latest fw? Sounds like either a pool server issue or maybe your Ant/cgminer is reverting to the backup pool due to the error/reject/stale rate? Make sure that you are on the latest firmware: https://github.com/AntMiner/AntGen1/tree/master/firmware_S1Make sure that cgminer is up-to-date: https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/tree/master/AntS1

Sorry if this has been asked before but does MM work with cpuminer? I've dropped a cpuminer folder into the multiminer\miners folder but 'scan hardware' doesnt detect my blade
Directly, no, however, you should be able to point it at a stratum proxy.

Thanks, watched the video, is it a case of over the top of the resistor or around the side, also how many pencil strokes on all resistors. On the edges, just like the video shows. As many as it takes to get the right resistance (use a meter).

|

Watch this video and make certain that you are applying the pencil mod similar to how it is depicted in the video. http://youtu.be/LNXSHpPACGsI've modded several of them so far with no issues. Likely you're modding the wrong resistor, or applying the pencil mod wrong. Remember, you need to mod 4 resistors per blade (total of .

Updated.. thanks again. I didn't notice any issues with the previous version. root@antMiner:~# cgminer -V cgminer 4.3.2a
Yup, looks like you're all set.

Pretty sure I'm on the latest firmware, but I'm not sure about cgminer. This is what shows under software - cgminer 3.12.0-1. Is this the latest?
Seems fine though.. .2% error rate. Thanks for any info
Impossible to say. The software version will never change there. Remote in and run "cgminer -V" to get the correct version.

That means that you missed a few commands. I made a sure-fire way to get it done every time. Try this: cd /usr/bin/ wget http://kano-kun.net/AntS1/cgminer-ants1-4.3.2a-85fcf0c chmod +x cgminer-ants1-4.3.2a-85fcf0c mv cgminer cgminer.original rm cgminer ln -s cgminer-ants1-4.3.2a-85fcf0c cgminer reboot
I got to wget part after entering still says wget: can't open 'cgminer-ants1-4.3.2a-85fcf0c': file exits [/quote] I know, just run through the whole thing, and it'll work fine.

I just tried to upgrade the CGminer as per instruction, however im getting wget: can't open 'cgminer-ants1-4.3.2a-85fcf0c': File exists
any help?

I just had a quick idea that I had to share. I'd love to see stats expanded, especially in MobileMiner.
A graph of miner output would be great, and I would love it even more if it could be expanded to public information - if you wanted to share your awesome stats with everyone in a forum post, for example.

1 of my S1's was dead this morning, thought it was a bad psu. Plugged it into another and one of the caps exploded and started on fire! This is it for me now for sure.
I find that highly unlikely. Capacitors of the size found on the S1 aren't large enough to cause a fire unless you're stacking your S1s on top of gasoline or something. It's always possible that there was some freak accident, I suppose.

On the Ant I was testing on the extra fan connector doesn't seem to work, testend on another one and everything works fine on that one. I guess I could power the fan for the Ant with the broken fanconnector from my PSU, or not? What cable/connector from the PSU is best use to power the fan?
Traditionally, an ATA power connector is used for fans (Molex 4-pin), but anything should work just the same. If you want to go cheap on it, you could probably just screw the leads into the alternate power connector (the one you'd use if it didn't come with PCI connectors), or do the same with an output, so you don't have to run another lead from your PSU.

There's a list of maybe 50 or so coins I have setup. I add to it regularly. When you mine those I use BFGMiner's quota feature so that X% of shares submitted go to my pool.
I am open to better suggestions. The other option is switching all mining to some other pool for X minutes during the day. However that introduces a bunch of complexities considering the other things MultiMiner does as far as switching pools and restarting. Additionally, someone could have any combination of SHA ASICs, Scrypt ASICs, GPUs, etc. and I'd need to somehow figure out what coins I want to mine with the given hardware.
I could be overlooking some cooler way to do this though and am definitely open to suggestions.
It seems to be that it would be best to only have about 10 or so pools, one for each algorithm. I.E. One for SHA256, SCRYPT, SCRYPT-N, and so on. Maybe use a multipool for some of them (if you can find one that you like), or just point them to your own MM 3.0 proxies. This way, for example, if I'm mining some new/obscure SHA256 coin, it would still send 1% of my hashing power to your BTC pool. This way, if some poor sap is mining, say, Devcoins, you wouldn't get gypped. Additionally, I might have MM turn on perks by default, though I'd add a welcome tip in the notification box about them (for full disclosure).

I know I am, but I think it's more that the majority of hashing is done via network miners or on coins you may not support percentage-based donations from. That's why I switched my ghash.io auto-withdrawl to just send you a percentage every time - since most of my work is done with S1s.
Hopefully 3.0 will help there. It will allow Perks users to setup as many Stratum Proxies as they want, plus will work with both SHA-2 and Scrypt currencies via the Proxy. This will make it easier for folks to monitor and fully control their Network Devices as well as benefit from the other Perks. Speaking of, how, exactly is your donation pool set up? Do you just have a couple pools for each coin algorithm and set it up to be in a load-balance config? I've often suspected that the donations only work when mining certain coins (such as BTC), but never cared enough to test it. If it only works with the primary coins, that could be a large part of it.

Had an interesting thought today. It occurs to me that users who have several machines running MM may be eating up their CoinWarz API grabs. Would it be possible to have it set up so that networked machines only have one machine polls, rather than all of them?
It's planned for the MultiMiner Remoting feature for those using the Perks. Unfortunately there hasn't been much in the way of donations via Perks so I assumed most weren't using them. I know I am, but I think it's more that the majority of hashing is done via network miners or on coins you may not support percentage-based donations from. That's why I switched my ghash.io auto-withdrawl to just send you a percentage every time - since most of my work is done with S1s.

I'm trying to add a second cooling fan to my ants (push-pull) I have some coolmaster jetflow 120 fans (12V 0,4A), but when plug-ins them in in the free 4pin connector on the secon board nothing happens, do I have to enabled the second fan somehow or am I doping something wrong?
Likely doing something wrong, but I haven't tried it with a 4-pin setup. What wire is on top? If done correctly it should be: Black (top) Red Yellow Blue (bottom) All black wires(what ever happend to colorcoding these days...) On the fan it says: +black -black FG black PWM black PWM should be on the bottom. If disconnected, it will run the fan at full speed. If connected, the fan speed is determined by the firmware.

What do you mean when you say, "supports all non-temporary currencies supported by CEX". I'm only seeing BTC and NMC in the settings currently.
@Raptor2213, sorry that was a badly worded statement at a low level. The reason for the 0x1 error was, that CEX returns different output for each user account. This output is dependent on what currencies each user has currently, and which currencies they have ever owned in the CEX system. For example, my account will not show a current balance, nor order balance for FHM, because I have never dealt with them; on the other hand, if you didnt have a GHS balance or NMC balance and tried to use the reinvestor, it would simply not start (why CEX does this, I have literally no idea). By saying each currency is now supported, I compensate for whether an account may or may not have a particular balance, and in the future if CEX adds the ability to trade with their other currencies (those shown in the `balance` tab on the reinvestor), they will be simple changes to implement use, because the underlying architecture is now in-place. Also non-temporary meaning the futures, I dont know what will happen with the futures currency when the date approaches, and didnt want another program breaking bug the second they yank the currency from their API; as it stands, all futures trading will have to occur on the CEX website until I can come-up with a better system for temporary currencies. Ah, that makes a lot more sense. I wish cex.io would have trading or auto-withdrawl options for all the altcoins they mine. It's a pain to keep withdrawing them to other wallets.

It's not ghash.io. I've been using it fine with a S1 for months now.
