This coin could...but its a little too quiet here. There are 1 million coins that IIUC were created in a short POW phase. A couple of days ago almost 200,000 keycoins traded on Trex, in one day. There are automated bots continually pushing the price down. And they have plenty of ammo it seems. In other words even though this coin has potential there are not enough buyers yet to soak up all the coins coming from people who got them in the POW stage. So these bots and trading programs will keep pressuring the price down until more buyers appear. So I think this coin has a good chance but ATM there are too many coins in loose hands to see the price rise. Too many coins in the hands of people who don't care about keycoin. How widely were the POW coins distributed? It seems quiet but what you're really seeing is patience. Many investors are watching and waiting. People do care and want Keycoin to succeed! It still has more potential than most alts out there. |

Same here. Used it last night. Hope the market catches on. Very neat tool. Honestly I personally wouldn't have much use for an anon OS with a wallet built in, I don't care much about being so secretive. But the Keytrader app is very, very cool. I hadn't seen or tried it until this release and I've been using it instead of trex UI all day. Really helpful for saving me time spreading out orders, and finally having a "cancel all" button made me precum a little. This could have been released as part of a standalone tool for a lot more profit. What else is in the works?  A secure standalone trading tool is good. And a press release would help the market catch on too. But I guess this comes after more beta testing? |

It seems the question of the moment is "to charge", or "not to charge" for the custom apps. Both sides have valid arguments, but here is a third option. Do both.
Release the full version (after bugs have been squashed) and charge for it - pricing structure TBD. There will definitely be demand for the apps. Maybe do some giveaways to increase publicity.
After an amount of time (again, TBD), make the apps free to anyone. This would be another boon to the community and good publicity.

Adding more limitations is the last thing they want to be doing IMO.. they should be adding features, not adding restrictions and extra fees. KeyOS and its tools could be a good PR tool for keycoin, not a way to force investment and make money off its users..
I agree not to limit PR opportunities. All the biggest DOT COM companies are all based online subscriptions that started as free service. Many Anti-Virus software companies became huge by offering a free anti virus but now these companies make huge profits on premium paid unlocked features. |

Nice! So I could send BTC or other crypto onto my Keycoin Stick and securely keep it safe offline? A bank on a stick! Who doesn't want this? I can choose to encrypt the whole stick when not in use. I could then use my Authy App code to decrypt the stick quickly. Edit: Is it just me or this simply amazing? Lock or Unlock all your Crypto with your KEY "A Bank on a stick" sounds great, but Ive one question, how do you decide if you are going to trust all your wallets and keys/coins to a third party patched OS? Well I gotta say im glad there is finally a moderated thread. I had left the thread for a week because the FUD was mostly nonsensical BS. Everyone fighting over who the lead team, that prom was involved, and koolio and whoever else. If any of those guys were to go to XC or DRK and start buying it up would ppl start claiming they were scams too? Get over yourselves, they arent god and shouldnt be held up as such. Theyre investors and they are trying to build a coin. If you dont like it or because your beloved Crypt is a POS then dont buy it. No need to try to destroy other peoples hope of building and investing in a very decent coin.
I am actually excited about a KeyOS release as really I haven't seen another coin implement anonymous OS usage with a wallet. Hopefully Ill be able to add other wallets to the bootable USB stick so I can keep a few of my coins encrypted and ready to run outside of windows. It will be tor implemented so you can surf the net anonymously for the most part. I think the biggest thing is that it will be unique thus far since no one has it. And if anyone knows about Linux, this is not something that is not that easy to implement. Linux can be very frustrating at times, especially with new innovations. Hopefully dev team can figure it out soon as it will be a very cool release. Cant wait for more future updates without all the bullshit to block it out. It ruins the spirit of crypto...to innovate!

Yes , but that has been already taken into account by the markets.People always talk about the 21mils bitcoin not about the current mined ones.
But miners sell coins each day nonetheless, 3600 new Bitcoins are mined each day, that's a lot of selling pressure, so we can't really say the markets have already taken 21 million into account. The market is in sort of equilibrium now, bouncing in the 550-650 range, but it's going to take a lot more capital injections to move it higher. As for Doge - there are reasons to believe it has finally hit its rock bottom and the downside is limited (20 satoshi might be the lowest low), it only takes very few bitcoins to support daily production of doges and that number will be going down quickly, to a negligible amount. Anyone that can give me a brief explanation about what happened to doge?
Some months ago 9 out of 10 threads in this forum were about doge... Has it completed the pump and dump cycle or is it something else...
It's a shame if it is dead because although i 'm not into alt coins the community of this one was standing above the rest...
It's not dead, developers are quite active building some infrastructure around it. Doge quickened the inflation period and naturally hit the bottom of price correction faster than other coins (Litecoin closely following). All cryptos are pump-n-dumps and some go thru pump-n-dumps a few times in their lifetime. What matters is which of them rise after dumps and which go to oblivion. +1 LOL... Dogecoin is hardly dead. It still has the most active & diversified altcoin communities. People on Bitcointalk don't seem to get. Probably because they are too serious about numbers, charts and making money.  I support both Bitcoin & Dogecoin because they both have important rolls to play inside & out the Crypto-community world. |

Hi,how many team members are there now? I remember it was 20,but it seems less now.
Currently I believe the Keycoin Team consists of approximately 11 people give or take. But there are 4 full time members.

We have several technologies currently in the development phase that will bring meaning and understanding to both the name “KEY” and “Security is KEY.” To separate ourselves from current hype based white paper style coin releases, we will not be announcing all of these features at launch. All the FUD and spam was incredibly distracting indeed. Now the focus can be on making things better rather than trying to recover from both lost time and money invested.
I do have a few ideas to make things better, but will post when I have thought it out more and also after seeing the OS and trading tools.
For now, a few suggestions:
1. Update link on website to point to this thread instead of the old one
2. Include Dan Metcalf's review of the dev team and anon code somewhere on the website
3. Also include the news article/interview
I think at this point, anything that can rebuild and gain trust in keycoin would be helpful. Obviously, releasing the OS will help that alot, but the small things count too.
+1 I agree that website updates are important. People go there frequently looking for news updates. Important message board updates & new press releases could easily be added. Adding a tweeter feed would also be beneficial. Especially on the home page.  |

How do you secure the network if you cap the coin? How many new successful coins are capped these days?  In the short run Bitcoin & Litecoin has a higher supply inflation rate that Doge. Dogecoin Bitcoin Litecoin 2015 5.26% 10% 33.33% 2016 5% 9.09% 12.5% 2017 4.76% 4.1% 11.11% 2018 4.54% 4% 10% 2019 4.35% 3.85% 9.09% 2020 4.2% 3.7% 4.1% Bitcoin = capped - This will take many many years. LTC = capped - This will take many many years. DOGE = dead Network will be just fine with capping and merging.... also your coins will be special. Right now your coins are just a diluted piece of dogeshit. The inflationary supply of Dogecoin is what makes Dogecoin special. Bitcoin might be good for savings and buying things like cars and houses. But Dogecoin is good for purchasing everyday things. Most people do not like dealing with decimals when spending money. This is fact.
Bitcoin is like Gold. Dogecoin is like $One of Bitcoin's biggest problem is being solved with Dogecoin.Can Bitcoin survive on transactions fees alone? Will these transaction fees be controlled by a few mass mining operations. Like banks of today? This seems very centralized to me. I've been a Bitcoin supporter for many years. But we aren't limited to one currency. Many Crypto-currenies will have purposes that will offer different uses in the future. Dogecoin has done a good Job reaching the masses. This is key. This means the coin is not going away anytime soon. |

I'm holding DOGE since months and they lost almost all their value, I'm sorry but I think I have to sell my millions (worth nothing...).
I could be WAY wrong but I feel part of the reason Dogecoin price is down is due to coin HOLDERS such as yourself. Imagine if ALL Dogecoin was being held...the price would PLUMMET. Instead of spending (NOT SELLING) Dogecoin on physical goods or services, people just hold their coins and watch the price drop. If Dogecoin was being USED more (and not just exchange sell/trade offs either) then there would be a LOT more life in Dogecoin. There are DOZENS of online stores/services that take Dogecoin for payment. If YOU (ANYONE HOLDING DOGECOIN) do not spend your Dogecoin, (even just a little) YOU are helping to bring the price down. Why should the value go up right now? Most Dogecoin fanboys/girls just want to HOLD their Dogecoin in hopes of HITTING it big time. Jeesh People HOLD or CASH out. What good does that do for the Dogecoin community? NOTHING. Gotta CIRCULATE the currency for ANY value to be seen by others. SPEND THAT DOGECOIN. ps-I agree about needing to cap the coin but WE as miners/buyers of Dogecoin can only suggest/recommend that option to the Devs . It will helps people buy bigger things in the future. But only if prices are somewhat stable. Yes it's good to spend Doge but it depends where & how it's spent. The answer is spending Dogecoin on everyday purchases that we do on a regular bases. Then we would need to buy new Dogecoin Frequently which would increase the demand. But its very important on how fast we can purchase Dogecoin. The faster we can convert fiat to Doge the better. This would allow people to buy Dogecoin and use it immediately for things we normal spend fiat on without loosing money from price volatility. Currently here is what frequently happens:When an online store accepts Dogecoin for a purchase they generally immediately dump Doge daily for BTC. Then BTC is dumped for Fiat. This effect is also magnified when raising large amounts to charity. Don't get me wrong. I Love supporting Charities but you can't deny the fact that after a major fund raiser like Jamaican Bobsled or NASCAR that most all the those coins get converted back to USD. Those are huge dumps! Multiple that with mulit-pool miners that only want immediate profit. Those are huge daily dumps. Dump after Dump. But the community has done an amazing Job keeping Dogecoin's value this high. I believe it will go back up over time. But many people are in Crypto-currency for short term profits like most businesses. The community using it as a tipping currency has been beneficial since it stays within the eccomony. I know there are a few Dogecoin businesses that love Doge and keep some their coins to use for savings, tipping, and charities. But eventually many coins are dumped for Fiat. This has been a problem for Bitcoin as well. Think about what was the a main contributing factor that caused the 2013 Crash of Bitcoin? 2 words. BLACK FRIDAY. Biggest shopping day of the year. Look at the charts. A big step is when we see more manufacturing and commodity type businesses like farmers who will accept crypto-currencies. But their vendors will also need to accept these Crypto in order to keep it in the eccomony. Keeping the Dogecoin in the eccomony is very important. How we do that is the question everyone should be asking themselves. One important way is that we Dump Fiat for Dogecoin not the other way around. Doge will go back up when the community figures out what they need to do.These were only a few tips. |

Problem is: If there is no plausible explanation for the Dev-Post in the Cryptcoin-Thread, no serious new Investor will buy Keycoin. Its simply a to high risk, because anytime they could push the Sell-Button. And again: I don`t say that as a Fudder. I say that as an Investor. I sold today at a loss, because I know how serious Investors think. They don`t want to play russian-roulette. They want to see longterm-plans and a honest Dev-Team. I thought to see that. Maybe there will be an plausible explanation, but if not... this Coin has no Chance.
