https://github.com/zack-bitcoin/basiccoinI thought this was pretty cool. I agree with the author that simple currencies are needed both for adoption and education. Can anyone else vouch for the security/completeness of the code?

Each coin is worth ~$17.46 but the true market cap is .55 * $1,746,183 or ~$960,400.
So the coins are worth the same but there's a lot more room to grow than coinmarketcap suggests.

There is a pretty sizable by wall at 50k. Gonna be hard to break through it.
People need to settle down. If the coin simply establishes a new solid floor at 50k and then can continue on an upward path soon that is great.

As with anything, invest in things you believe in yourself along with things you think can be profitable. I think SpainCoin can be a greater success than AuroraCoin given the fact that Spain are actually allowed to use digital currencies. That along with the fact that contributing to bringing cryptocurrencies to the masses along with making money on the way is something I personally believe in.
Cryptocurrencies for countries are in an experimental phase, but I personally held no Auroracoins for the reason digital currencies being banned in Iceland. However, it could become a thing in Spain and I'm willing to stick my neck out to bet on it and I will continue to do so. That along with more positive response from spaniards should spaincoin be worth more- also positive media coverage will be good aspects to build a pump & hold upon.
You don't want to push cryptocurrencies forward be my guest, I really dont give a shit but use your brain before speaking to me
I don't think people are following this thread because they are interested in something they "believe in". Country-specific cryptos are an interesting idea, but it isn't obvious that this isn't a scam. But regarding you, you started out talking a big game, now your posts on Twitter seem more like investing advice than any specifics on a pump and Spaincoin continues to fall. I can't tell if you are a scammer or just incapable of truly pumping a currency like you originally suggested. If either of those two are true, at least this thread will serve as a warning for others next time you pump something. But maybe you are legit. When are you going to show something?

The last time it halved, the spike in value happened a week before (in anticipation).
When it actually halved, then value decreased.

If you liked losing most of your money on AuroraCoin,Your going to LOVE watching MazaCoin take the rest!
Unless you jumped on the spike aur took today.

Well, after a really fast start and getting up to 9000 satoshis, the price is falling fast on cryptsy. I also kept an eye on takeicoin and ultracoin which were just added, and neither have really spiked.
I guess getting added to cryptsy doesn't mean that much short term.

Wow, I am so frustrated with mintpal right now.
When people can make and lose money, you'd better have good enough servers not to crash.

You have got to be kidding me....

Watching crypsty skyrocket while mintpal is down....

So I saw these two tweets from @CryptoDirect: * The MazaCoin Development Team is actually working closely with the Lakota Casino. Exciting things in the works. * The Oglala Lakota Nation is also poised to legalize recreational marijuana. Think your VISA card will buy that? https://twitter.com/CryptoDirectThat is also the same person who tweeted about the WSJ article. I have no clue if that person is making stuff up, but if not, those could be pretty huge, beyond just the pumping and dumping that has been taking place. One of CryptoDirect's tweets: "The MazaCoin Development Team is all volunteer. We don't even hold any money, CryptoDirect pays our development bounties" So looks like a close relationship with the dev team. Interesting. Now if those things would come to fruition...I hate to say it, but....to the moon?

Well, cryptocurrencies can go up 1000% in a day. You aren't likely to see that kind of movement on the stock market. But again, that comes with risk...you won't see the -1000% drops on the stock market like you do in cryptos, either.
|
|

It is certainly possible, but it comes with all the inherent risks of day trading.
If you don't know what you are doing you could get screwed.

Its a newspaper. They go to press, it is what they do. How on earth does that confirm the story?
Who said anything about confirming? I was suggesting that they aren't giving answers today because tomorrow when they go to press they will have a story about maza. It was just conjecture.

I talked to the Lakota Country Times in SD and the secretary of the President of the Lakota Nation (just googled and called). Of the three people I spoke to none of them had heard of any plan for the Lakota Nation to formally adopt a crypto-currency. One of them had never even heard of crypto-currency. The paper asked for me to call again tomorrow because they were very busy going to press, and that they might have someone who could talk more with me then.
Can someone address why the Lakota would not know of their own currency?
Cross-posted.
Well, just the statement about when they go to press suggests that maybe a press push starts tomorrow. On the other hand, I also wouldn't be suprised if a lot of people weren't aware of this, I don't think the dev planned on it blowing up so fast based on statements he has made. At this point too many major media sources have covered it for me to think it is a scam.

Yeah the current hovering at 1000 kind of seems artificial, but a lot of people probably just like the round number.
It needs another push either from a major article (WSJ) or whales to get going again. But pretty much all cryptos are down today, so there's that...
