1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I buy BTC? on: March 02, 2018, 12:41:07 AM
Prices are relatively cheap now so if you are ever planning on investing, now is the time!
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The end of the banks due to bitcoin on: March 02, 2018, 12:34:25 AM
For that to happen, we would need to bring Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to world adoption. But even after that happens, some people would prefer to hold money in the bank rather than depending on the market.  Undecided
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TOP #BTC in 2018 on: February 20, 2018, 10:31:22 PM
This really depends on how much global adoption Bitcoin receives. If it continues to be an investment that people are holding purely for gains, it wont moon. However, if Governments start to adopt it and stores start to accept it in our daily lives, there is not doubt it will skyrocket.
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Invest in Bitcoin now or wait for another dip? on: February 20, 2018, 10:28:23 PM
This could be the lowest price you will see EVER. Bitcoin was at $20K before the dip and people would have gladly bought Bitcoin at $11K. Bitcoin still has a long way to go and I think now is the perfect time to invest  Smiley

6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do cryptocurrency investors could lose their life savings? on: February 20, 2018, 01:57:38 AM
I just saw an article which pretty much alarming.

It says that cryptocurrency investors could lose their life savings ‘at any time’ due to the volatility of the digital money markets, the co-founder of Bitcoin’s closest rival has warned. Vitalik Buterin, the 24-year-old Russian ‘boy genius’ who invented Ethereum, fears that anyone who ploughs their cash into virtual currencies could be ruined in an instant.

He advised investors to put their money into more old-fashioned assets and make sure they only put in money they can ‘afford to lose’. ‘Cryptocurrencies are still a new and hyper-volatile asset class, and could drop to near-zero at any time,’ he wrote on Twitter.

what are your thoughts about this one?

you can read more of that information in the link news below
http://metro.co.uk/2018/02/19/bitcoin-price-hit-near-zero-co-founder-rival-cryptocurrency-ethereum-warns-7323855/

"Invest what you can afford to lose" should always be said when dealing with investments. However, just like everyone else, I feel as though this is extremely obvious.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Future on: February 20, 2018, 01:06:21 AM
It will definitely pass $20K soon. The recent %60 correction we had is very common and has happened multiple times to Bitcoin since it was first released January 2009. What we know is that after every correction, Bitcoin has always had a very bullish movement which brings it to higher prices than it did before the correction.

So in the mean time, just HODL

I believe this was not official. It was simply the opinion of a citizen.

12  Economy / Gambling / Re: Win $1,000,000 USD - FREE ENTRY! on: February 20, 2018, 12:38:25 AM
When will the raffle actually take place? What if you guys never sell enough tickets...what will happen to all the people who already bought tickets then?

Hey friend!

There is no definite date that the raffle will take place because just like any raffle, all tickets must be sold in order for the raffle to take place. We will eventually sell enough tickets. To keep our current buyers interested, we are planning to arrange small raffles along the way (more details about this will be released on our site). For example, once we reach the 250 ticket mark (which we are planning to reach this week), we are planning to have a small LTC draw.

Adding on to that, recently, we have added an affiliate program which we believe will be a great success and push us far. If you are interested, you can find the affiliate sign up link in the footer of our site.

Thanks for the message!

Oh wow, now this site have a advertisement at coinmarketcap https://prnt.sc/igqpy6 and claims as the best crypto raffle. Is this joke? Best in what case if you do not mind to tell us here? Provably fair-NO, Escrow-NO, House take too much fee-YES?? Is it what you call by best?

Yes, looks like that's one of our banner ads. "World's Best Crypto Raffle" is not a claim, it's our tagline and our goal. We want to be the world's best raffle. If you know of a better raffle, please show me the website so we can improve our raffle.

It is provably fair, and you are right, there is no escrow. The house takes a very fair amount compared to other raffles.

It doesn't sound like this raffle is for you, but I really appreciate you looking at the website and I really appreciate your feedback because it helps me to improve the site.

You're giving away $1,000,000 and it's free?  This is a super expensive promotion, if that's what you wish to call it

Hey Minus!

I'm one of the Bitcoin Jackpot team members.

We are giving a select number of tickets for free in order to gain publicity and momentum. If you have any other concerns, feel free to ask.

May I ask who is holding the funds? I guess the goal is to raise more money then is being given away, which is quite a lot for a new service.

Using a multisig wallet with an escrow that needs to sign off would give a lot more trust I guess.
I don't think they already have this amount of money to escrow it. I thought their strategy was to collect this money using people who buy tickets, They already said on the website: "Draw will happen when 100,000 tickets are sold." So people should wait until all tickets are sold and then they will have 2 Million dollars (100,000*20$). So in the final point if they pay the winners, they will end up earning a huge amount.

Thanks for addressing his concerns and understanding the structure of our raffle.  Cheesy

So in the final point if they pay the winners, they will end up earning a huge amount.

Here is a section from our FAQ which discusses how we will be distributing the money that is not given out as prizes:

"Most of the money received from the raffle is paid out to prize winners. Then we have small expenses such as merchant fees, publicity, accounting, etc., to maintain the website and service. We end up with a profit, we pay income taxes and a portion of all the money supports crypto related sciences, specifically organizations that are developing improvements to the way the whole crypto ecosystem works. This will include government lobbying and advocacy which is important if we want to achieve worldwide adoption without interference or hindrance."

Come on guys, this is clearly a scam.
They sort of messed up with this post:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2874667.msg29545770#msg29545770
If you want to be a scammer, try not to make it that obvious.

Hey Moon!

The only people who are part of our team are listed on our main page at bitcoinjackpot.global, so whoever made that post is not on our team. Every team member's Bitcointalk or Reddit profiles are linked on our site as well. I, myself, am part of the Bitcoin Jackpot team, so if you have any concerns, please let me know.

High price, but I wonder whether it is real or a scam one.

Hey Blackberry!

Bitcoin Jackpot member here! Sorry for the late response. This is a simple and legit raffle. If you are wondering about our winner selection method, this section from our FAQ will address your concerns:

"At the time of the draw, a winning ticket(s) is selected at random using random.org which is an unrelated third party; the draw will be live streamed on YouTube (or another video streaming site) when every ticket is sold. To make things as fair as possible, the draw will be conducted on video by people who are not related to Bitcoin Jackpot."

If you are interested in how reliable random.org is, you can take a look at their FAQ which discusses how they create random numbers: https://www.random.org/faq/

four more free tickets left,it doesn't cost you to get a free ticket
so why not, although I'm pretty sceptical myself about all the lotteries without
any proof of funds, escrow, background etc. you cannot just come and say "science, bit*hes!)
and expect people to be sending you almost 2 mil worth
in any case, hope I win 1 mil and hope I'm  getting paid after  Grin

Glad you got a ticket! Hope you win!

20  Economy / Gambling / Re: bitcoin new $1000,000 jack[pot on: February 15, 2018, 12:34:18 AM
100,000 tickets @$20 = $2,000,000
1st prize: $1,000,000 2nd: $100,000 3rd:$25,000 and 75 others @ $1,000 each. Total prize $1,200,000 so you will take $800,000 from every draw?
You are also giving away free ticket, how if there are 100,000 people claim it? Will you do the draw while you will have to pay $1,200,000?

Even if this is legit, $800,000 is too greedy for the man behind it... other thing to think about is the odds behind the game, is a $20 bet on the chance to win of 0.001%. Some dice sites pay x99000 for that chance while here we only get x50,000.

So, not a good deal at all. If the $2,000,000 had a collateral maybe this would be a fair thread, but i don't think the guy behind the game have a $2,000,000 collateral.

And what about provably fair, we can't be sure this will be rigged or not   Undecided

Hey SeoIncorporation!

Even if this is legit, $800,000 is too greedy for the man behind it...

Large lottery companies such as Power ball contribute much lower money in terms of percentage towards the final prize. Here is a section from a news article (people.howstuffworks.com/not-all-powerball-ticket-goes-jackpot.html):

"According to Kelly Cripe, director of media relations for the Texas Lottery Commission, precisely "34.0066 percent of each sales dollar is contributed to the jackpot.""

And what about provably fair, we can't be sure this will be rigged or not   Undecided

For our winner selection technique, this section from our FAQ will address your concerns:

"At the time of the draw, a winning ticket(s) is selected at random using random.org which is an unrelated third party; the draw will be live streamed on YouTube (or another video streaming site) when every ticket is sold.
