281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you store your bitcoins? on: October 08, 2017, 02:29:49 AM
Nowadays there are so many attacks on exchanges and that is the reason i never hold my bitcoin on exchange sites. Best option for me to use hardware wallets like Trezor,Ledger nano etc.

283  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is reusing addresses safer? on: October 08, 2017, 02:24:15 AM
MultiSig typically uses P2SH.  In that case it is not necessary to find a private key at all.  All you need to do is find a script that resolves successfully and that hashes to the value in the transaction output.
That is really disappointing. I thought that multiSig is much safer than normal addresses. But it seems it is just the same level of security. Sad

It is MUCH safer.  You can leak one (or more) private keys, and your bitcoins will still be safe.  You can split private keys up among multiple people, so that a single person can't access the bitcoins by them selves.  There are many ways that multisig is safer than single signature addresses.

P2PK Pays to public key, but the coins go to a normal hashed bitcoin address.
No.  The coins NEVER "go to a normal hashed bitcoin address".  Regardless of whether you are using P2PK, P2PKH, or P2SH, there are no "coins", and there are no "addresses".  Those are concepts that we humans use to make it easier to talk about the transfer of control over value.  In the actual transaction and blockchain there are only inputs (with input scripts) and outputs (with output scripts). Outputs are assigned a value, and inputs reference outputs that haven't been referenced by any other inputs yet.

  • A P2PK script requires you to provide a signature that can be validated with a specific public key.  That's why it is called "pay to public key". Since the output script specifies the public key, and there is only 1 private key for each public key, only that specific private key will work.
  • A P2PKH script requires you to provide a public key that results in a specific hash, and then provide a signature that can be validated with the public key you provided. That's why it is called "pay to public key hash". Since there are 2256 possible public keys, and only 2160 possible hash values, each hash value has on average 2256 / 2160 = 296 private keys that will work. Only one of those private keys will be known.
  • A P2SH script requires you to provide a script that hashes to a specific value and which resolves successfully. That's why it is called "pay to script hash". Since there are 2160 possible hash values, and 280000 potential scripts(1), each hash value has on average 280000 / 2160 = 2500 possible scripts that will work. Depending on the structure of the script, only a few of those potential scripts will ever be known.

Thank you for having the patience to explain it.
I have studied bitcoin quite a lot, but never really read about how the input/output scripts validate the spent coins.  Now I understand better, and also realize, that I should read more about the topic. Smiley
Really interesting, that spending P2PK inputs only accept the pubkey given previously.

Spending P2PK outputs (using referring to them in an input) does not require you to provide a pubKey at all.  In a P2PK output, the pubKey is ALREADY SUPPLIED IN THE OUTPUT that is being spent.  The only thing that is supplied in the input when spending it is a signature.  That signature MUST be verifiable with the pubKey that was presented in the output when the output was created.

The hash of the pubKey is not used and carries no meaning in a P2PK transaction. Some block explorer websites might hash that pubKey when they show it to you because the average user doesn't understand how bitcoin works, and expects to see an address, but there is no address or pubKey hash in the actual transaction at all.

Thank you for great explanation! I always thought that my knowledge is enough to explain this things to average Joe.But sometimes this kind of tough questions make me to think deeply Smiley
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Small projects that have room for potential realistic 10x-50x growth on: October 08, 2017, 02:19:35 AM
I love investing in small market cap projects (5-15 million) and have made a ton doing so already by guessing correctly. I put 20 ETH into DNT during their ICO and sold it on the way up at 17x (it maxed at 25x) for close to 331 ETH. I sold my QRL for 15x the ICO price right after it hit exchanges. And now I'm up 5x on Chainlink already...still holding it though.

My question is - what are the next projects with the potential for this kind of growth? I ONLY want to hear about very small cap but otherwise solid projects. I don't care if an ICO is inventing the next wheel - if they're asking for 150 million I don't care to invest in it.
My advice is buying and collecting pillar tokens while it is dirty cheap. For next year they will release new wallet and this event will be huge.Demand will follow expectations.
285  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how to start trading? on: October 08, 2017, 02:09:49 AM
First of all follow up on bitcointalk forum and market regularly. You should also follow coinmarketcap.com which is a source of coin real prize. Follow the ANN thread of bitcointalk and coin own blogs/website. You chose one or two coin to start trading and you start your investment on small amount.  you take your first one or two month for your learning period. I think at the time you will expert on the trading and you will success.

What are talking about is not trading Smiley Trading requires serious effort in terms of proven strategy, money management rules etc. Avoid day trading and trigger long term profits without falling day trading trap.

287  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: "Stop-Limit" Feature on: October 08, 2017, 02:01:16 AM
Hello,

I'm really new to cryptocurrency trading, I've successfully made some buy & sell orders but I don't understand how the stop-limit feature works
I've seen some tutorials on how to use it but it doesn't seem clear to me as a newbie
Could anybody explain it in a simple way so I could trade safely?

Thanks in advance.

Limits are mainly used to grab a good deals.Let's take stop loss or take profit which both are considered as stop limits.First one is closing the position in case of determined loss and other way for second one.
288  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the week we see the $4500? on: October 08, 2017, 01:58:47 AM
All china bullshit didnt' bring BTC below $3500, the scammer Chase CEO didn't also bring it down...

So are we back to normal?
Not this week but maybe at the end of this month it will be able to reach 4500$. It is becoming hard for Bitcoin to make it on 4500 because it is still recovering from the downfall that happened recently. Also, a hardfork is approcahing so sudden declines on its value are expected. But after the fork, surely, it will even reach 5000$ especially if it will be a success.

It already touched to 4500$ during day.No need to wait 1 another month for big figures.I hope this is the new wave for uptrend.
289  Economy / Gambling / Re: Anyone know if....... on: October 08, 2017, 01:55:22 AM
.....there are any sportsbooks out there that allow you to deposit with a card and withdraw to a bitcoin wallet and vice versa?
Thanks in advance.

Problem is this kind of activity can be treated like washing money with withdrawing in different option.5dimes never respects to such kind of transfers and always blocks account in case of suspicious activity.
290  Economy / Speculation / Re: How MUCH will the FINAL BTC be WORTH? on: October 08, 2017, 01:52:41 AM

291  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to 7000 HOT OCTOBER on: October 08, 2017, 01:51:14 AM
My Best Forecast so Far!

Target 6800-8400 per 1 btc

Current price 4844

Stop
Short term at 4723

Which gives us enormous profit factor of 23

HOT SEPTEMBER, feel the magic. #11

simplefx prices
I think Bitcoin won't be able to reach 7000$ before this month end, since it is still recovering from the backdrop that happened recently regarding with China, ICOs and Bitcoin exchanges. Maybe before this year end, it will be especially if the incomming hardfork will be a success and hoping that it will. If it will be successful, the value of Bitcoin will again, go skyrocket like what happened in the previous one which happened last month of August.
In last hardfok , many got panicked and release their btc out of their wallets and regretted that decision after, maybe now users learned that btc corrections is for our benefits and will hope that it will be successful to feel again the fast pump that were waiting.
Dont take same numbers for the height of day traders or big investors. Day traders are called pip hunters and this kind of situation is priceless for this purpose.
292  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 by 2018 is looking now like a possibility on: October 08, 2017, 01:49:02 AM
Dont expect mind blowing numbers for near future. If we are going to forecast the future prices let's start with fundamental analysis: Mass adoption is key for this unreal results Wink
293  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where does your biggest return come from, in cryptocurrency ? on: October 08, 2017, 01:46:36 AM
I remember my biggest gain from trading before 1 year ago.I sold 1000 coin  for 2000$  which i bought 0.2$ per coin. But i never gained ssuch amount in single trade after this deal.
294  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Short trading on: October 03, 2017, 10:51:10 PM

Wow! Thanks for this update. Its time to buy more StorJ for sure on the current price it is on its dip price. There might some pullbacks after a rise but checking on the chart this is the best time to buy.

I follow all coins in the bottom points with the help of my tools

One more for you https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-BCY

It is kinda look like USD index which created with taking current value of usd and extracting it from xxx/usd basket. Nice tool but sometimes it can show you wrong way if you dont pay attention to choose right pair for trading.

id not watch the project, only the schedule. That's what I see.

When buying the analysis of the project and past and upcoming events, as well as the market and competitors should not be missed.

This tool can help you to measure values in markets but following naked price actions without any additional indicators require experience which average 10000 hour per average trader.
295  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: October 03, 2017, 10:47:52 PM
Because of the rate of scam this days it hard to know the right investment to venture into, ponzi has given cryptocurrencies bad image.

And that's the strategy behind it, don't focus with those investments because you can be scammed. The best investment strategy for me is that don't put all of your eggs in a single basket, diversifying your money into many things of investments. Like in trading, you'll not only going to focus with a single alt coin but try to look for some other alt coins that has a chance to pump.

There are good resources to learn investing rules deeply.I never recommend to jump directly to markets wihout proper knowledge.Money management is key to success in investing.
296  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC rise to 4300 $ on: October 03, 2017, 10:45:14 PM
BTC BTC rise  to 4300, What do you say about this spike ?
It's a good sign. Bitcoin suffered feom a major downfall because of what happened recently with the exchanges in China. All cyptomarket are down including Bitcoin. From a price of 4700$ it is down to 3300$. And as you've said, it is now again increasing . Thid showd that Bitcoin already hrew, that it is able to rise without the help of a huge investor which is China. Hoping that the increase will continue for Bitcoin.
Currently, the price of Bitcoin needs to increases and breakout resistance price at $5,000 again, Bitcoin needs to does that to proves it still strong and without Chinese investors, it still can grow more its value by the world's community.
China's decision caused a big crash on markets but this time prices get recovered easily compared to old days. It is hard to predict future price of bitcoin without counting chinese investors whom hold big part of cake..
297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC for taxi on: October 03, 2017, 10:40:32 PM
As second option you can purchase a new bitcoin debit card and use that card to pay whatever service you gonna to use like taxi. Also this can be considered as good ICO idea Smiley
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stealing Bitcoins from online wallets with 2FA on: October 03, 2017, 10:38:30 PM
Second level of protection brings a lot of new features with offering good level of security.3 type is known:Something you have like device, something you are eye or finger print, something you know like passwords or seeds. Breaking this type of  authentication is only possible with social engineering.
