Popular thinks have fans and haters. It is not a problem. We don't have to argue with them. If they don't like bitcoin we can not force them. Let them go. Or say them "yes fight it and it makes bitcoin more popular"  Smiley Smiley

28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Reddit Drops Bitcoin Payment Option For 'Gold' Membership on: March 28, 2018, 02:51:17 PM
Social media website Reddit is no longer accepting bitcoin as payment for its Reddit Gold membership program.

On Friday, users began commenting in the /r/BTC subreddit that the only available payment methods for the service are credit cards and PayPal, whereas previously people were able to pay for gold using bitcoin.

A Saturday post in the same forum attributed to Reddit administrator "emoney04" explained that the change was due in part to Coinbase's decision to discontinue their Merchant Tool product in favor of Coinbase Commerce, which will enable "merchants to accept multiple cryptocurrencies directly into a user-controlled wallet."

The administrator went on to explain:

"The upcoming Coinbase change, combined with some bugs around the bitcoin payment option that were affecting purchases for certain users, led us to remove bitcoin as a payment option."

They also indicated that Reddit has yet to decide if it will reintroduce crypto payments after Coinbase implements its new Commerce service.

"We're going to take a look at demand and watch the progression of Coinbase Commerce before making a decision on whether to reenable," the administrator said.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Really? Next Bitcoin is Litecoin on: March 28, 2018, 02:47:29 PM
Litecoin network allows developers to approve faster processing. Approximately 4 times faster than Bitcoin. Secondly, Litecoin is stronger against double attack than Bitcoin, which makes Litecoin a safer digital currency. Thirdly, in the employment proving algorithm, the process uses an easier algorithm. This means that the Litecoin network will produce four times as many coins as Bitcoin. That means 84 million LTC will be produced. As a result of these features, Litecoin is able to get more approvals and faster approval times when products with higher tag prices are sold in commercial establishments

34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Binance Moves its Headquarters to Malta Seeking More Crypto-Friendly Legislation on: March 25, 2018, 08:51:05 PM
One of the fastest growing crypto exchanges over the past year, Binance, announced on its official blog its intention to move operations to the European island of Malta.

This decision comes after the difficulties experienced to operate under the conditions imposed by the Japanese government. A few weeks ago the Asian newspaper Nikkei reported that the Financial Services Agency of Japan (FSA) said Binance was operating in Japan with no registration and judged that investors could suffer damage. In turn, this led many investors panicked, and this immediately led to a bearish trend in bitcoin prices.

The warning announced by the FSA, in addition to a series of obstacles and government threats made Asia an unpleasant place for an exchange as crucial to markets as Binance.

Previously, on February 9, Hong-Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC)  issued a warning that indirectly affected Binance:

"Investors who store their fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies with unregulated cryptocurrency exchanges should be aware of the risks of hacking and misappropriation of assets.”
