Apologies for the technically ignorant question but which of the d/loads on https://github.com/ProjectRadium/Radium/releases/tag/v1.4.2.1   relates to Windows? Thanks.

The download for Windows is Radium-1.4.2.1.exe

In the development of the SmartChain Verify API, we are nearly ready for a production release, as you will see in the Project Radium update later this evening. That being said, are there any features that you would like to see once the new SmartChain Verify website goes live? Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Can someone please tell me how Rads development is funded? Is it done on a donation basis or something else?

Thank you,
   Pablo.

Since inception, we have funded the project from our own pockets and from small community donations.
We are working on establishing a B2B division for the purposes of expanding SmartChain adoption and generating a development revenue stream.
Currently, there is not much need for capital, as we don't have very substantial overhead costs. Over the coming months, that overhead is projected to increase with the launch of our new websites, API services, and more.

Best regards,
-Tim Mesker

but I am sure you are using the capital that has been paid off even into profit

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you're saying, however, I can assure you we're not making a profit at the moment. Out of pocket is out of pocket, whether that means our personal paychecks, any gains from a rising bitcoin price, our personal time, etc. The majority of development behind Radium has been divided up between Justin, myself, and a few other people who have been able to contribute occasionally. While we are now in the process of becoming a professional and well-organized business entity, the same winning team spirit that has keep Radium going for over a year will continue to propel us into the future.

What is the max supply of this coin?

Approximately 3 million.

Thank you.
3 million is the available supply, not the maxinum, am I right?

The supply currently stands at around 2.7 million, with the active supply standing around 2.5 million. Over half of those coins are staking.

3 million is the number of coins we plan to cap inflation at, given there are enough users decaying on the SmartChain.

The file checksum verification is useful.
But what is  Text Notes for?
Can someone tell me when we will use the Text Notes?

Currently, text notes on the SmartChain can be used for public records that can be verified by anyone and are immutable. It could potentially be used for anything from legal contracts to NSA canaries.

Radium SmartChain Phase 2.4.1 is often stuck ,when will the next version be released?

In what ways does it become stuck? If it becomes stuck on the loading screen, try enabling low resource usage in the settings menu.

Quick question: I am considering investment and I have a core question. What is the niche that Rads is trying to fill, i.e. what will John Doe use Rads for in 10 years? I'm still trying to get my head around the technology so any information is appreciated.

Thank you,
   Pablo.

Hello Pablo,

For your average user in the future, Radium and the Radium SmartChain would hope to bring user friendly and secure verification to files and documents. Ideally, various entities such as software companies, law firms, and banks would record proofs using the SmartChain, and upon receiving documents and/or software from those entities, an end user could verify their origin and integrity with as little as a right click.

Best regards,
-Tim M.

For anyone who would like to contribute something to the project, I am looking for any and all suggestions as to what people would like to see in the new wallet. If the suggestion is reasonable and well-received by the community, it will most likely be included.

A 1 click paper wallet import feature would be great.

It should be as easy as typing in the private key and clicking "import".

Most wallets still lack such a feature, even though it makes things easy for lots of people who prefer storing coins in a paper wallet.

That would be a great feature. It would also potentially be possible to add in an import by webcam feature, and add a paper wallet generator into the wallet itself.

on April 29th i moved 20k coins to a new addy to find out how much ROI i can get out by staking Rads

so far it staked 393 coins

i will post again on May 29th to see what the ROI is after 30 days

anyone want to post Dash/Xvc ROI in 30 days with similar amount(or cost to buy ) of coins?

or any other POS coins ?

it would be great if some one can make comparison chart Smiley

i see no one even try to make comparison chart..

today is may 29th i now have 666.1211 form staking

I will offer a 250 coin bounty for whoever can make a comparison chart. It would be a valuable thing to display for those who are new to Radium.

SmartChain 2.4.2 with the expanded user accounts is now available as a beta. Please test, and let me know if you have any issues. you can also test on the testnet, for those who want to explore and not worry about spending their rads.  You can enable testnet by clicking YES on the popup at start, and then checking the "testnet" check box.

https://github.com/JJ12880/SmartChain/releases/tag/2.4.2-beta.1

Comments, suggestions always welcome.

JJ

To add to this, if anyone would like some testnet coins for testing, please let us know.

Looking more and more like a dead coin.  Dev hasnt logged in for almost 2 weeks??

We're always available on Slack, Bitcointalk, or by email. The Projectradon account is offline the majority of the time because it is only used to maintain the main page of the thread. We are busy coding every single day, and therefore don't have as much time to engage with the community on Bitcointalk as we would like. Radium is far, far from dead. Smiley

How is ping affects on staking?
I am staking from asia, but maybe better to rent dedicated server in US and stake there?

We have many nodes setup in Asia, including one dedicated node in Tokyo. Ping times should be fine from Asia.
How about settings? Should I set up something? City Bangkok

The wallet has the Tokyo node hard-coded in the source, and the wallet should make an effort to find the best connections possible. There should be no need for any configuration changes on your part.

I downloaded the new wallet and it says version 1.4.0
Will this version work?

Thanks

Any version that is 1.4.x.x will work fine.

I love RADS, it is the real deal with honest dev team team which is rare, and now a great oppertunity to for the community to buy some more cheap coins, because in 6 months time rads will be worth 1000% times more, and everyone will be kicking them selves they did not buy a little more...

It is interesting the move to the rust code, a big problem in the safe network is verifying original content to pay the producer, I am wondering if we are planing to deploy radium on the safe network in the future. I believe a lot people would want to use a proof of file or person.  I am very excited thinking about this..

We appreciate the enthusiasm and support, thank you!

I'm not certain about the applications for Radium in regards to the Maidsafe network, but it is possible that Radium could be applied to any decentralized file storage protocol. At the heart of the majority of decentralized storage protocols, lies what is called a heartbeat mechanism. That heartbeat mechanism only ensures that the file is unmodified during storage. It is still 100% possible to store a modified and potentially malicious file on the decentralized storage network. The SmartChain could easily prevent that through our existing verification mechanisms.
