661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RISKCOIN - Scrypt - Trading on 2 exchanges! on: February 23, 2015, 08:28:00 PM
Difficulty continues to rise, PoS blocks are rolling in at a faster and faster rate, and the block reward is increasing in a couple of hours. Buys are coming in on c-cex and things are looking good  Smiley
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RISKCOIN - Scrypt - POW block increase soon. on: February 23, 2015, 07:37:59 PM
Hi im new in this theard, I don't have time to read all so if someone can tell me what innovation have this coin would be great Smiley I have some BTCs to invest in new promising coin Wink
Welcome Smiley
The coin is relatively new, having around 100k coins right now, but should end up somewhere around 175-250k coins by the end on PoW.
There is already in wallet messaging, with some more features being planned for the not too distant future. There was an ICO for 75k of the coins, resulting in about 20 BTC all together. Other details you should be able to find out by the OP, but that should be updated too.

Happy mining and trading and welcome to the community.
663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RISKCOIN - Scrypt - POW block increase soon. on: February 23, 2015, 06:03:34 PM
At this moment POS blocks already took of 690 coins. I believe total number of coins after POW would be closer to 200,000 then 250,000 Smiley
Possibly even less..
As for c-cex, I tried buying us a vote, we're at 10 now. It only costs about 23 cents for one vote at the moment, so I may be buying us more  Smiley
664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RISKCOIN - Scrypt - POW block increase soon. on: February 23, 2015, 04:36:20 PM
On Bittrex would be good. We're trying to get listed on Bittrex Huh

Message Bittrex and ask... i only find 7 message that goes to Bittrex, and i had 28 different ICO investors and there are (were) 50 miners... so plenty of people that can ask ...
What do you find is the best way to message bittrex?
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RISKCOIN - Scrypt - POW block increase soon. on: February 23, 2015, 04:27:00 PM
Anyway, we will see how far we get. Mining in silence at the moment, not a lot of hashrate, in fact mining cheaper then the ICO price, so when it hit a exchange somewhere then it will become fun Cheesy
Exactly Smiley
I'm trying to generate as many PoS blocks as possible, as should others. The fewer the coins at the end of PoW the better.
666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RISKCOIN - Scrypt - POW block increase soon. on: February 23, 2015, 04:22:56 PM
In my opinion, advertising makes us seem like we are just trying to get others to buy in.. We should be focusing more on features and awareness, because if we become innovative, the community will come by themselves.

As a side note, to get us on c-cex, any paid votes, I will back by 1 RISK each. I will back up to 400 votes, giving the coins a rate of 0.001 Btc = 1 RISK.
PM me proof of payment to the voting address (Txid) and your Risk address and I will send the coins as soon as I get the message and the vote is confirmed on C-cex  Smiley

I've to disagree on 'feature, innovative...'. I'm now almost 15 months in the altcoin business and the only coin that really change the business was Darkcoin or Blackcoin, i even don't remember.

I personally don't have any clue on what some coins are offering technical, because it is all open source, if one coin make it today, then tomorrow you can have 10 clone coins. Like those encrypted messages hype, all coins have it now... innovative, of course not. You had Supernet, now you have Blocknet too, and in a few months you will have XNet, etc, innovative? Nope. Does it matter, nope.

Look at DOGE, nothing to offer, ONLY a big user base, a lot of services, and that is innovation. Giving people the possibility to buy stuff with their coins, all the other things are crap. That is my point of view.
There are coins that have come out that have been truly innovative. Will advertising bring us users and investors? I highly doubt it. New features do bring users and investors to a coin, that is undisputed. A way we could advertise is through a sponsored BTCTalk banner, meaning users could have our banner in their signature and they would receive a certain number of coins per day.

Which coins are you talking about? Smiley
Well, you can pretty well go down the list on coinmarketcap and see which ones that have come out in the time you and I have been in the business that have been innovative: Darkcoin, Maidsafe, Nxt, Counterparty, NuBits, Monero/Bytecoin, Gems, Blackcoin, BitcoinDark, Storj, and many more.

Features will set us apart  Smiley

Is a site already in the works, important to help round out the messaging..

Which site are you talking about?

A website for the coin...

Good point, it is not written in the roadmap, so maybe that is not the highest priority... in fact, i never check websites of a coin Cheesy
I never check either. BCT is the goto place for these coins.

In short to attain some of the roadmap items an amount of legitimacy is required, not to mention continuous outreach.. If the OP is undertaken an advertising campaign like stated (glad to hear) then a site is required as you are appealing to the greater community....
This is true, plus I think a level of transparency of spending should be had with the ICO funds.

If coinswap is too lazy to compile a linux wallet for themselves, I'll just do it for them, lol.

My guess is that they'd prefer to compile from source themself, but they'd also want it to be known as working ahead of time? I'm not sure though.
I'll get one working and report back later today

672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RISKCOIN - Scrypt - ALREADY ON BTCPOOL.EXCHANGE!!!! on: February 23, 2015, 03:32:30 AM
Is there anything special I have to do to activate it? The only related option I can see is the "reserve" option, to note how many coins to not stake.
If I can explain it: Staking is automatic and determined based on stake (network) weight. Stake weight is automatically accumulated on all coins based on the number of coin days accumulated and time spent unmoved in an address. Once you unlock your wallet, those coins will begin to stake in the sense that we all tend to think as accumulating interest over time. Once you have a high enough network weight, all that it takes from that point is time, patience, and luck. You can imagine proof of stake like continuously entering into a lottery: You will win eventually, and you will eventually get your 50% interest as per protocol, but as to how long or when is a different story.

So do not despair, the odds just aren't in your favor for the moment. You will find a block eventually, just leave your wallet unlocked and do not move your coins. If you move your coins, your coin days and stake weight are destroyed.

Good luck and have fun staking

Just to check: Technically, if I make a transaction of any kind, X amount is paid to the recipient and Y amount is paid back to myself, right? This would count as moving it and reset my timing, then?

Also; if I receive additional coins, this doesn't disrupt my existing coins' staking, right?

Thanks for your help. Smiley
Yes, you are right, that is what a transaction at its core is, and that does 'reset' your coins.. Moving them even within your own wallet will reset them. Receiving coins has no effect on your already staking coins, though I recommend sending them to a different address than your staking coins.

No problem, glad to help any time  Smiley

For some reason, PoS coins don't seem to stake properly for me (RiskCoin isn't, and PenCoin didn't either, at least), so PoW is my only option. Tongue

Just a thought... the fact that I have my wallet encrypted (yes, I do have it unlocked while trying to stake, of course) wouldn't have an impact on that, would it?
Having it encrypted shouldn't have an effect. It should be working properly as I have found a block myself, but may I as how many coins you are trying to stake?

I haven't split my coins into multiple wallets or anything. I have just over 750 at the moment. With PenCoin, I did have quite a small amount compared to most people who were staking; what's the recommended amount for this coin? (Apologies if it was already mentioned)

None are displayed as being staked.

In my wallet I dont have some sort of icon to reflect staking, but a mining block did come thru.
did it confirm in your wallet?

looks like it in transactions it has the green check mark
Staking works fine, just doesn't have an icon in the wallet. Everyone should stake, it just takes time and patience  Smiley

Aside from the exchange talk, just keep in mind that every PoS block that is found before the end of Pow means less total coins at the end of PoW  Smiley

Disappointed in not seeing any commentary from the dev, important to keep things alive...
The Dev usually comes on for a few hours in the afternoon EST, so they're not gone  Smiley
678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RISKCOIN - Scrypt - ALREADY ON BTCPOOL.EXCHANGE!!!! on: February 22, 2015, 01:23:40 PM
Dev, are we going to need to fork to use PoS or is it already implemented? Is it just not active until after PoW?

i hope it is already in place, i hate forks Smiley
I'm less concerned about making a reward from PoS than I am supporting the network and making less PoW blocks..
I could mine but I only have a 2 Mh/s rig, lol.

Well if we don't want to use a few Btc to pay to get us onto bittrex, maybe we could use 0.3-0.4 Btc from the ICO to get us onto c-cex for some exposure and early trading before bittrex Smiley

No worries, the coin is even not one day old. Give the coin some time to grow, getting a coin too fast on a exchange is not the best option, people will dump it like crazy as demand is small when you compare it with the supply. if you wait 1 week or so, and DEV can have more and more people interested in the coin then the demand will increase and supply stay the same.
This is true.
