2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why green bitcoin mining has become a trend? on: August 25, 2021, 03:08:26 AM

as for 'global warming'.. not all countries will get 'warming' .. thats why climate change is a better buzzword. because some countries will see a cooling effect.

Same thing. it is global warming, some countries may experience sudden changes and extreme low temperatures as a result of a larger context, but it's global warming. The new "buzzword" was created for those unable to understand the concept of "average global temperature".
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why green bitcoin mining has become a trend? on: July 25, 2021, 01:51:15 AM
another point never addressed is the equipment that is quickly replaced and goes to trash. how "green" is this?

This is a repost, my message was previously deleted because the moderators don't like to have their beliefs contradicted. More and more this forum looks like a church. Many here just call things FUD (sacrilege) and refuse to look at them.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why green bitcoin mining has become a trend? on: July 19, 2021, 07:20:43 PM

so yea a direct comparison for fiat $1 per kw and btc value $1 per kw
the btc is actually ~20x BETTER than fiat

wow, you've really done a lot of juggling here to make the numbers look the way you want them.

but when I say SCALE I am referring to the people served. USERS. The focus is on people, not things or "value". Things should serve people, not the opposite.

Cost per dollar makes absolutely no sense. What we need more, two transactions of 10 million usd or one million of 20 usd transactions? Can you see the mistake here?

it's not FUD, it's a real problem. I think those who deny this are the same people who deny global warming. Bitcoin protocol has an infinite demand for more and more energy. People like to say that banks spend more energy, but what's the difference in scale? Any honest analysis must consider the scale.
It is FUD because you can't compare centralized to decentralized first of all. Centralization requires only a central entity as the main power, while Bitcoin requires everyone to contribute if they want to earn and keep the system up and running while also decentralizing it more and making it more secure at the same time. Comparing decentralized Bitcoin power consumption with what banks consume is useless because if banks were decentralized and each bank had to store their own ledger from zero and each philiale had to verify each and every detail themselves, they'd have to use way more electricity.

This is as useless as comparing BTC power consumption vs how much power is used to mine gold.. we're all going more and more digital generally, like imagine how much consumption has been lately added in the past few years only by "smart scales", " smart watches" etc which are practically useless vs Bitcoin which truly brings something new, innovative and.. ultimately useful!

so the best argument is to compare with other things that spend a lot? it's just an excuse. as bitcoin was the last stage of scientific progress. it's not how science works, it's how religion works.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why green bitcoin mining has become a trend? on: July 18, 2021, 11:30:17 PM

This is true, the media is over exaggerating things here. Considering that there are many other human activities that are only wasting energy or much more intensive energy users. As bitcoin is relatively new to their grasp, they are finding loopholes on how to find faults on this new technology. This is why miners are now aggressive also in announcing their use of renewable energy sources, for them to stop the FUD surrounding the use of too much energy.

it's not FUD, it's a real problem. I think those who deny this are the same people who deny global warming. Bitcoin protocol has an infinite demand for more and more energy. People like to say that banks spend more energy, but what's the difference in scale? Any honest analysis must consider the scale.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm wondering if miners will go away in the next few years ??? on: March 16, 2021, 05:18:07 AM
Miners will go away someday when bitcoin reached its maximum supply and there will be no more popular POW coin like bitcoin. The miners have no choice other than migrate into another POW coin.
This time POS is more popular compared with POW.

I don't believe that POW will still exist by 2140. Look into the past to see how much technology has evolved in 100 years. There were not even computers. Bitcoin mining will be seen as we see steam locomotives nowadays...

This crazy race for more powerful machines is unsustainable financially and ecologically. Mining is profitable where the state subsidizes energy, should I remind you too?
8  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: cryptothrills.io is a scam. on: February 13, 2021, 09:26:03 PM
if you trust send your money there.
Why would I trust a random casino that I even don't know about. I am trying to get answers from you people who have some experience with it so that I can decide whether to tag and flag them.
So the question I asked are just for clarification

ok.

they have a strange rule, if you deposit something you need to make 10x to be able to withdraw.

anyway I didn't deposit anything. I got a bonus code and was said it was not necessary to deposit.
the bonus cannot be withdrawn, but the winnings can. So I spent all and won some money on roulette.

I tried to withdraw and the system shows that the withdrawal was made, but it was not.

If it was due to the withdrawal rules, the withdrawal should be denied.
But what the system shows is that it was done. And they don't use txhashes, obviously.

According to other posts, the same happened to everyone who tried.
9  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: cryptothrills.io is a scam. on: February 11, 2021, 02:58:03 AM
same here. withdrawal "completed" Grin just another scam

1. I don't get it, what's all with the reversed and completed withdrawals?
2.  Do they have any clear Terms and conditions regarding their bonus promotion on their website?

"completed" means it was sent, but it was not. There is a "live chat" but no one is there to talk.

if you trust send your money there.

12  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 🔥 🔥 Free 2 mBTC registration bonus on CryptoThrills.io 🔥 🔥 Limited offer on: February 06, 2021, 09:26:58 PM
8.5 Withdrawal Requirements

Players must only use wallet addresses that are valid and in their name when withdrawing and depositing funds to and from their casino account.

All players who make a deposit, must wager the deposit amount at least ten times, before any withdrawal will be allowed.

Eg: If a player deposits 5 mBTC, the player will need to place bets totalling 50 mBTC on any game before a withdrawal will be permitted.

it's called SCAM

it's amazing that people spreading fake news and disinformation receive merits from a merit source... this forum section looks like a madhouse. Nowadays every kind of shit is equated with scientific knowledge and we will see the results in the short term.

let's draw then and I hope people can get it:

16  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bernie Sanders is the Frontrunner for the Dems on: March 05, 2020, 05:33:20 AM
I like how things change so fast in the world of politics that I posted this and now it's not true, crazy what a week or so can do (crazy what Super Tuesday can do). Biden is now the frontrunner and has the momentum behind him, we'll see if he's able to use that momentum to continue to rack up wins in the delegate count.

This is a pretty wild prediction, but, I think this MAY be a wakeupcall to the Bernie Sanders voters that they're going to have to go out their and vote. This isn't a sure thing anymore. They have to make their coalition go out their and vote, and they have to fucking beg Warren to drop out. She's splitting the vote and truly killing Bernies chances of competing in the delegate #'s

Biden has the support of the whole party and pseudo candidates who are already pulling out. the press does not report but celebrates...

you're right this will be decided by the non-voters, they need to start caring.

Too bad you can't make it past orange.

I did a few posts above. nobody was able to answer and started posting memes, there's no way to take it seriously  Wink when the accusation is pertinent it is not a fallacy. if you continue the philosophy class beyond lesson one you will learn that too.

Always...always sniff very carefully at the FREE CHEESE!

I'm glad you found a simple text that you can fully understand. with some efforts you'll be able to reach the green level in 4 or 5 years.

If Bernie is the frontrunner, he better run faster, or he'll get runover.

Cool

all I see here is people running out of arguments  Cool

All I see here is Bernie running into arguments. Hope the arguments don't shut down with Bernie inside. We might lose him, and we wouldn't want that, now, would we?

Cool

is this supposed to be funny?  Cool

do not confuse politicians with your football team or your favorite wrestler. grow up.
