1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Binance: $BNB The Future of Exchanges. on: May 09, 2018, 06:39:26 AM
$BNB the ONLY coin where you can invest in the exchange. This will be a top coin for chinese/international traders. Eventually it will only be 100M supply.

They've started a trend! bithumb and Huobi are both going to launch a token. For me they have found a fantastic and real use case that a few and far between at this immature stage in market growth!
2  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: easy way to follow the bitcoin price on: May 09, 2018, 06:34:27 AM
I followed with the help of the site coinmarketcap.com or by using the widget on the phone. Why is your service necessary, than it differs from others?

Is it true that coinmarketcap can be unreliable at times? this isn't a statement its a genuine question?
3  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How to install a Bitcoin ATM in my city? on: May 08, 2018, 09:13:15 PM
Hello everybody! I am thinking to start my own business and I though that maybe an installation of the first Bitcoin ATM in my city would be good idea which can bring me good income. But I have no idea from where to start, so I am here to hear all ideas, experience and advices.
Thank you!

You know what I was thinking the exact same thing. There is only one in my whole city and I live in a major UK city. I cant imagine it being to hard. I would look into to what bithumb are doing at the moment with all the infrastructure they are building in South Korea at the moment. They may even franchise out some atm's I think it would be worth contacting them about it.
4  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Warning for Ledger Nano S users / buyers on: May 08, 2018, 09:07:55 PM
Hi Guys

I have been looking for a secure way to store the small amount of BTC I have, but also have quick access to it.  So after asking members on here a few days ago I decided I would go for an hardware wallet.

Tonight I decided I would go for the Ledger Nano S.

I went to buy one off the official site but didn't have a BitPay account, so decided to look elsewhere, thats when I came across the info that this device is vulnerable to supply chain hacks, so if you have one and didn't get it from the official site you need to check your device.

News article about it here: https://techcrunch.com/2018/03/21/a-15-year-old-hacked-the-secure-ledger-crypto-wallet/

Heres info about the hack here https://medium.com/@thepariscormier/how-to-hack-a-ledger-hardware-wallet-c38a4ac49d59

I think if bought directly from ledger they should be safe, but if bought from anywhere else be extra careful, make sure its fully updated and confirm its safety with ledger if possible.

I hope this saves someone from losing out,
Rick

One of the first bits of advice I was given when new to the space was to buy my wallet off the official website. I ended up waiting months for it to arrive. while waiting I come across numerous stories on telegram of people who had purchases nano s's off amazon only to be hacked a few weeks later. One thing I admit is that im extremely diligent when it comes to cyber security now!!
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: May 08, 2018, 09:04:03 PM
I want to say that you lot are doing an amazing job of at least attempting to bring crypto to the masses! I have been seeing your adds popping up on youtube and other websites non related to crypto which is what is needed I think for the space to continue to grow and I think it goes along way to helping the market as a whole so well done and thank you
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2000$ to invest now?! on: May 08, 2018, 09:51:43 AM
Id go for a 40/40/20 split

This is a very conservative approach that will limit your risk factor

40% BTC
40% ETH
20% split between (EOS, KYBER NETWORK, ADA)
7  Economy / Economics / Re: Prices will some day fluctuate less? on: May 07, 2018, 03:19:47 PM
Do you think that someday the prices for Bitcoin will fluctuate less and ppl will be able to use more as a currency, and not only as a form of investment?

I think its less a case of when people start using the currency more and more of a case of when the volatility will subside which some say won't be until it reaches the 100k mark. Once the volatility calms down I think then it will be used as a currency. Having said that if it reaches 100k then the theories that it could be gold 2.0 and that it is an asset would mean its now a viable alternative which would then potentially mean it can appreciate much more so I'm still undecided. 100k seems like a number plucked out of thin air even though it has been touted as the magical number by some really influential people within the industry.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coin NEO for a long time? on: May 07, 2018, 03:14:56 PM
I think NEO is a decent investment. It has allot of hype a month or so ago. Now they did suffer from a minor scandal, I say scandal because some payments faltered and NEO are one of the platform coins wanting large projects to be launched on their platform and having any latency issues can be devastating! But they have has turmoil in the past and come out unscathed and I do think the overall potential for NEO to be incorporated into the Chinese government is enough for me to keep some stake in the project. Some may say this is wishful thinking but I still have faith in the project!

Couldn't agree more. Not so much on this forum but there are allot of people stood with their hands out in this space. I think if you can be proactive in your approach to this space it will give you a huge advantage. The most experienced of people in this space are only a few years out in front. With dedication you can get to a very good level of understanding relatively quickly and because the space is always changing, more than any other in my opinion you have countless opportunities to be at the tip of the spear in this space!
10  Economy / Economics / Re: Value of sound money under carnage on: April 26, 2018, 09:39:15 AM
Why do you even think that bitcoin or altcoins needs to replace anything? They will and may do it in far future, but not closest years, I'm sure.

I think we just need to see it become another functioning option amongst the rest of the worlds currencies to see world changing benefits!
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / EOS next on coinbase? on: April 26, 2018, 09:36:36 AM
Recently I have been thinking that its going to be EOS to be next listed on coinbase. A huge mining company are raising 100million to get a huge stake in Eos once they move on to their own blockchain. Another huge exchange is also opening its own dedicated Eos driven decentralised exchange which is also super bullish!

Coinbase have also come out and said they do supports ERC20 tokens, they have also announced new coons will be listed this year. Im getting a strong feeling one of the coins will be EOS! (I must add that there is something about broc Pearce and his connection to tether that gives me a seed of doubt)
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Status of Durov, Telegram and its ICO on: April 22, 2018, 07:45:29 PM
1.8billion ICO that is incredible! I think the days of 100x icos are coming to an end soon. The popularity of any ICO with even half a good team is leaving very little room to grow. Lets say you invest in the telegram ico. Its currently valued at 1.8 billion at its ico stage, think about the size the company will have to get just to see a 10x!?? It would value telegram more than Ford motors and other companies that have huge incomes and years and years of history!
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What stage of adoption is Crypto currently at? on: April 20, 2018, 09:28:14 AM
I think we are at the tail end of the early adopters stage!
14  Economy / Economics / Re: When will more retailers accept Bitcoin on: April 20, 2018, 09:25:05 AM
I think we are now waiting for a real use case to give retail investors the confidence that this is not all a hype. XVG's porhub connection is one of them surprisingly enough. We need more of that although I do think the use in this case is limited, who pays for pornography on pornhub?
15  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think that bitcoin can reduce corruption? on: April 20, 2018, 09:22:04 AM
Well forget the currency aspect. The fact that immutability is now possible I think is absolutely huge to reducing corruption. Think about how many people access government/company files and edit, remove things for under the table favours! this can all be stopped
16  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible for the bitcoin to lose it's value ? on: April 19, 2018, 10:43:15 AM
Yes because its price is completely supply and demand based so if something better comes around the demand will be gone. However, the top 5 companies in the SNP500 are all tech companies where if you liquidated the assets you would only receive 20cents for every dollar so I think we are in a time when value isn't necessarily based on tangible value so as long as people thing btc is valuable, well it is
17  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is more like “a psychological experiment than a serious investment" on: April 19, 2018, 10:36:30 AM
I was reading an interesting book regarding bubbles recently and he actually highlighted the positive aspects. The hype and speculation brings with it huge investment in infrastructure, once the bubble pops people buy up the infrastructure at a much lower price and build from the foundations. He also highlighted the mental infrastructure that is left behind, in the sense that all the crazy marketing campaigns trying to raise awareness. He says this goes nowhere and more often than not money eventually falls back into the valuable projects.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alternative Block Chains : be safe! on: April 19, 2018, 10:31:32 AM
The great Gavin Anderson. His words still carry so much relevance all these years on. I think alternative currencies can have a place in future. Like Gavin pointed out though if investing in alts make sure you do you due diligence as this risk factor is exponentially greater
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have You Been Scammed? on: April 18, 2018, 04:55:31 PM
Yep and I learnt the hard way. Its almost the perfect thing that can happen to you in order to brush up on security measures! I actually wouldnt take it back. Its helped me take control!
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bcash will die in 2018 and Bitcoin will be even more valuable on: April 18, 2018, 04:54:05 PM
I think the lightning network getting underway will be the final blow that will kill of bcash. There is something very calculated and snakey about rojer ver and Craig wright. The dev con event last month where vital called out Craig wright is the kind of thing I think we need influencers to call out more often
