Note: Remember that the second place might be worth bidding also. If the winner is not able to pay his bid for some reason (e.g., we all die someday)

What safeguards do you have in place for this auction that will identify a failed winning bid vs a shill bidder?

I’m sure no one wants to see a slew of unverified “newbie” bids artificially pump up the auction price only to see something like “sorry the winner is unable to pay their bid” and now the runner up is stuck with the inflated price, right?

I see that you wrote:
Quote
we will offer the coins for the next highest bidder

Keep in mind, you can offer the coins to the next highest bidder, but the bidder may not want to pay that now inflated price.

Quote
We will reserve the right to reject bids, even days after the bid is made. If bids are rejected for any reason, the next bids in line that didn't win initially, will come into play and will have a chance to buy the auction item.

I hope you mean DURING the auction and not afterwards?

Good luck with your auction.

Thanks!

I had it on all images, not just very large ones.
But: it works again: theymos hasn't posted here, so I guess it's a few hour timeout to be removed from the blacklist again.

ok, great, happy it timed out for you Smiley
551  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk.org image proxy: Bandwidth limit exceeded on: October 22, 2019, 08:10:44 PM
Hi,

I ran into this issue recently when I tried to upload a pic that was too large.

If you physically resized the image and re-uploaded it to your image server and try again, would that still return the same error?

thanks!
552  Other / Meta / Re: 10th anniversary art contest on: October 22, 2019, 07:21:39 PM
Collaboration by NYC based Crypto artist 5IVE and buckrogers.

This original piece of art is based on the idea of that there is a war on the godfather of crypto. Hidden references from Star Wars' Empire are symbolic of central banks, and dark institutions trying to destroy the free system.

At the same time it is a celebration of how big digital currency has become over the past 10 years.

The art for bitcointalk.org is a celebration of 10 years of exchanging information, thoughts, and ideas around Bitcoin and digital currency.

Some details to notice are that the aesthetic is inspired by 8 & 16 bit video games as a nod to where we came from while also giving it a sense of motion moving into the future.

Hi, it’s a good idea to post a photo of the items for sale along with a piece of paper with your username and the date on it.

Also you should move this post the Hardware section here :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0

Thanks!

I want to hear you say that you doubt I have the item in my possession, or any item that I claim to sell.

OK, I'm saying it Smiley without a picture of the item you are trying to sell, how can anyone believe you have it? or what condition it is in?
You continue to be LAZY, yes thats correct, and copy paste photos from sales op's for your threads.

Quote
If you'd like to berate me, then feel free to do so in PM or by creating your own thread in Reputation.

Not my intention.... next Smiley

Quote
Nothing new, certainly, but it is a tremendous waste of time when the quality of my picture is going to be horrendous alongside the fact that nobody is doubting I am in possession of the coin.

Incorrect, I am doubting you, hence why I posted. If you had simply done what is the norm for many years, you would not have heard a peep from me.

This has been a standard here for many years, post a pic of your item for sale, so we know what it looks like in YOUR possession, I already know what the Original sellers item looked like before you had your hands on it. After viewing your newly added photo, I dont see why you are so ashamed of taking them? It looks just fine, and you should continue to post them as you try to continue to sell items here.

The only waste of time, is trying to inform you on the same process that is done here, yet you continue to "Waste others time", by having to keep trying to correct you.

Quote
Calling someone shady for something they disclosed to the public without any coercion to do so seems strange

Disclosed? you mean when you were FOUND OUT Smiley  very different than "disclosing" lol

Quote
You sticking your head into a thread that you had no interest in participating in, other than to take an unwarranted passing-jab at me
Negative, I would do the same for anyone who posted a for sale thread without a photo of the item in their possession, you can look through some of the history here to see just that, no need to be paranoid Smiley I may have been interested in this item, why would you think otherwise? I actually own quite a few of these exact coins.

Quote
I have, do, can and did; immediately upon your request.

Again, this is not the first time you were requested to do just that, yet you seem to not "want" to for some odd reason.

Quote
to derail my thread and make purchasing from me less attractive.
100% False...again. I have no ill will towards your sales, My only concern was the lack of the photo of the item you have for sale, no need to read into things. If you were a newbie account or a legendary member, I would address it all the same, with the basic suggested requirements for selling a collectable here.

Quote
Not posting a picture of one of the cheapest items I've ever sold around here, was not a mistake
The price of the item for sale is not the concern here Bill. it is the quality and condition of the item you are trying to sell. It has been recommended by many who sell here to add a photo, that's your "mistake"

Quote
Ending your passive-aggressive post with a high-school girl's "Thanks!"

Bill, all you need to do is view some history, (again) of my posts and see I try to always add a "Thanks" to the end of my posts as a nice gesture, if you dont like it thats too bad,

Thanks! Smiley
559  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [RAFFLE] BeYourOwnBank "The M.O.A.B." #95 | Price HALVED / 50% Off on: October 05, 2019, 09:06:35 PM
I'm curious why you cant post pics of your own coins for sale and keep using other peoples photos for YOUR sales??
I'm curious why you use the word "cant" when you mean "don't".
I'm going to ask you nicely not to raise YOUR voice.

I was under the impression that it is perfectly acceptable to use the original sales images when reselling an item, so long as you indicate that clearly. They are the sales images, specifically because they do such a good job at showcasing the item; something I am incapable of doing myself.

Post a pic of your actual coin for sale with your username and date next to it, this is standard and nothing new for you bill.

Nothing new, certainly, but it is a tremendous waste of time when the quality of my picture is going to be horrendous alongside the fact that nobody is doubting I am in possession of the coin. The entire purpose of posting a picture with a timestamp is to prove you have possession of what you are claiming to sell. After doing dozens upon dozens of deals for much higher value than this, it's confusing to me why all of the sudden this is a problem. I'm just at a complete loss, attempting to figure out what posting this picture does for me, my customers potential/realized and my sales-threads; I am well established as someone that delivers on their promise(s).

Here is your requested picture (also, added to OP):

How many slots can I mark you down for, buck?

Considering your shady beginnings here on the forum with the purchased account Bill, I'd say you could at least post a pic of the item in your possession, if you 'can't' or 'dont' want to do those basic things, or decide to be snotty when asked, then I wish you luck in selling anything here, I certainly dont want any part of your "slots".

I hope you can learn from your mistakes, take some advice, adjust your attitude, especially towards members who have been here with a legitimate self made account since 2013, and move on.

thanks!
