1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][X11/X13] X11 (Darkcoin)/X13 (Marucoin) miner (based on sph-sgminer) on: June 07, 2014, 02:21:14 AM
Having issues with sgminer and windows 7 crashing or freezing a few hours after running with intensity setting over 15 with 3x R9 270 (non x), no issues with cgminer previously, I could run it for weeks mining dogecoin.  (windows 7, 13.12 catalyst)

sgminer will run fine at 14 intensity at basic settings like below but I only get about 1.2 to 1.3 MH per card

sgminer.exe -k x11mod -I 14 --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1250 -o stratum+tcp://drkpool.com:3333

I couple things you can try:

1. lower the --gpu-engine and see if that helps.

2. Use the "print" function on this thread and then ctrl+F and enter "270".  See what other 270 users are using for settings

3. Be sure to disable and then enable the video cards after they crash.  do that in device manager.  Or you can do a full restart but sometime it's better to disable/enable

When I had your symptoms I got it working by changing memclock or adjusting Intensity.

Thanks! that print feature is handy, searched for r9 270 and found settings which has been stable now for 3 days

ya transfer Doge there, sell for BTC and buy any other coins than LTC and withdraw before SHTF totally

not so easy because you wont get transferable altcoins for a good price if you want to buy for one or more bitcoins.

You're right, all the coins prices are going up since people are trading there BTC and LTC to them and withdrawing in those non LTC BTC coins.

Is that the reason Doge is so high in value on this site?
People are trading their BTC to doge and withdrawing in doge since you can't withdraw in Bitcoin?

correct

On the other hand if you trust Vircurex you can make some profit if you buy Dodgecoins somewhere else, transfer them to Vircurex and sell them to Bitcoin.

Not for me - my trust in online markets went away with MTGox.

Don't forget CoinEX, they did same thing last week.

MtGox part 2

Don't leave your coins on these sites too long as they could at anytime disappear and claim they were hacked and there are no real laws or anything you can do about it...

If any criminal or immoral minded people are out there, this would probably be the way to steal without any repercussions...for now

the people who are receiving them, already have them please put up youtube videos showing them working and lets see some speeds!

I'm on the fence of getting one but maybe your vids will convince me Smiley

12  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Pizza for bitcoins? on: January 16, 2014, 07:26:47 AM
i remember hearing of bitcoin 2 years ago but not really thinking it would do anything or understanding the concept of it....still sort of don't

wonder what else is happening at this very moment that i could spend time investing in that will be easy money

i want to make enough to help my mom pay off house mortgage and i'd pretty much be happy after that, anything more would go to pizzas
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / profits going down because difficulty going up? still profitable for power rigs? on: January 15, 2014, 05:42:33 AM
my machine sucks, not many hashes but noticed profits going down...

is the reason for this because more people are mining, more people are upping their hash rates which increases difficulty of mining making it out of reach for most people to profit unless they have their basements filled with rigs and rigs?
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Under $150] Best AMD card for mining ? on: January 13, 2014, 07:05:41 AM
So its good to go for 270 right sir ?

yes for $180-$200

here's setting i use https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=409530.msg4440947
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Under $150] Best AMD card for mining ? on: January 13, 2014, 07:01:56 AM
$100 you can get 7770 or 7790, with proper settings 7770 is 200Kh, the 7790 is a bit higher by a few points

$180-$200 you can get a R9 270 which is 2.5x faster it can get 450-470Kh with proper settings, some people say XFX is bad brand for graphics cards though, never tried them though but i've stayed away just because of bad stigma lol
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 4x 280x mining rig on Asrock 970ex4, windows 7 doesn't detect gpus on: January 12, 2014, 12:52:27 AM
Thank you for the help,
but I figured today myself that the issue was due to faulty risers also in my case...

I bought 4 powered 1x to 16x cables and two of them don't work properly... Plugging 2 gpus directly on the 16x slots and the remaining two with the working risers did the trick and now windows 7 detects all gpus correctly.

Seems a lot of risers cables sold nowadays are of poor quality and many people reports problems.

If can I say something about your rig's instability, could be due to lack of power, maybe your psu is not enough for 4 gpus? You should have at least a 1200w gold rated psu, with a 1250-1300w gold would be safer.

Btw thank you again for your response

hi where did you buy the working risers?

so others can make sure to stay away from the bad ones
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gigabyte R9 270 - 428kh on: January 11, 2014, 06:18:34 PM
thanks for help mikeybit, settings you had were really close

seems to be a memory issue with my card, whenever memory is at 1500 it crashes, lowered to 1450/1460 and seems okay there

getting 450kh now with cgminer.exe --scrypt -I 18 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 14208 --gpu-engine 1110 --gpu-memclock 1460

I'm willing to bet if you lowered your gpu-engine you'd get a few more hashes out of it...

ok lower it and up the intensity?

how did you get so good at tweaking these settings btw?

Had to lower intensity and settings for my other card 7770, the positioning in the case makes it sit above the R9 270 and so the 7770 get really hot, above 80c (lowered its intensity to 14 at 74c and get it at 160kh instead of 197kh)

If i get more serious with this I'd like to build those open cases with risers but just playing around for now and still not very good at buy/selling/trading on sites, i usually end up losing profits.

Try --scrypt -I 19 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 16000 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1475

no hardware errors yet, hopefully it doesn't crash

spoke too soon, crashed a few minutes afterwards, i wonder if its my power supply... i don't have much in the system but its only 500w silverstone running a 7770 and the R9 270

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Gigabyte R9 270 - 428Kh (Solved now 460Kh thanks to mikeybit) on: January 11, 2014, 02:32:40 AM
R9 270 no x  (Official name is GV-R927OC-2GD revision 1.0)

Settings for 428kh =  cgminer.exe --scrypt -I 16 --thread-concurrency 12000 --gpu-engine 1125 --gpu-memclock 1500

I can up the intensity to 19 which makes it goto 470-480kh but cgminer would eventually crash an hour later, temps look fine but hardware errors would emerge at intensity 17,18,19 and crash so Intensity 16 is highest i can go at the moment.

Seen some others online stable at 450kh, which is intensity 17 for my settings but it crashes for me there.

Using Windows 7, might try Linux to see if i can stabilize it better there
