1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox is down AGAIN on: October 24, 2011, 01:37:10 AM
ok, that's what I call efficiency

seems fixed now, it almost felt like a DoS attack was going on
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / MtGox is down AGAIN on: October 24, 2011, 01:31:55 AM
server is not responding

mtgoxlive also looks frozen at 3.16900, what's going on MtGox?
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] BTC Trader - opensource live charting and tech-analysis application on: August 13, 2011, 12:23:42 AM
weird...downloaded the Mac installer and tried to verify the MD5 checksum and it failed the test: got a different checksum (Huh)

has anyone else verified the integrity of their downloaded installers?
4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Strange stuff MtGox on: July 05, 2011, 09:13:45 PM
maybe they did, trading seems to have halted after the big jump in price up to 14$

all my orders read "in queue"
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: price spike over 16USD/BTC on: July 05, 2011, 05:43:08 PM
hey, let's chill a bit guys

googling it only showed that there was ONE thread from about a week ago

the claims of 15 similar threads were simply not true

again, I looked on the forum before posting and didn't see anything for a reason...

what can I say? my apologies again anyways for not checking beyond the forum's first 50 threads

peace everybody!!
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / no more dark pool trading on MtGox? on: July 05, 2011, 07:39:23 AM
after the crash MtGox doesn't seem to offer anymore the option to place trades using the dark pool

there used to be a drop-down menu that allowed you to choose that, not there anymore

have researched mtgox's support page but I don't see any announcement to that respect, did they just cancel it or are they intending to bring it back at some point?
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: price spike over 16USD/BTC on: July 04, 2011, 03:46:53 PM
my apologies to anyone who might have felt bothered by me starting a new thread on this..I do check previous posts to make sure I'm not asking the same, this time around I saw no comment on the matter and it makes sense: the google search above shows only one thread from about a week ago (besides mine, of course) with the same question and it does bring some light in that respect (thanks chodba!)

I can understand that if that same past thread was heavily replied to it may have felt as though a zillion forum users were posting the same from anew every time (??)

anyhow, going back to trading-related stuff: I'm puzzled because if the reason for such spikes are dark pool orders making a match and dark pool trades seem disabled on MtGox after the re-opening, how are those dark trades taking place? does anyone else have the capability to place trades on the dark pool? (there used to be a drop-down menu, I don't see it anymore)

thanks!
8  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: price spike over 16USD/BTC on: July 04, 2011, 03:22:22 PM
well, umm, I didn't see any threads on this subject on the Trading Discussion firat page, would you mind redirecting me towards any of these?

my second question on this thread is something I've been observing even in the pre-crash times: Mt Gox will peak at a price X but the displayed highest or lowest price on their official site will be lower/higher

what's the reason for this?

thanks for your feedback!
9  Economy / Trading Discussion / price spike over 16USD/BTC on: July 04, 2011, 02:48:36 PM
now, what was that price spike over 16USD on MtGox??

and why does MtGox display a highest traded value of 15.689???

10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox Websocket finally open! on: July 04, 2011, 02:46:17 PM
it never works for me (Chrome for Mac), the order book looks empty

it seems as though the websocket gets closed immediately after opening

16:45:10 > Opening WebSocket to ws://websocket.mtgox.com/mtgox
16:45:11 > WebSocket Closed

anyone else observing the same?
11  Economy / Trading Discussion / Trading trends after re-opening on: June 25, 2011, 06:43:42 PM
I think I get what's happening: MtGox opening the accounts and blocking trading is causing many users to withdraw their BTC and sell them on TradeHill

the latter has dropped from 17 to 15 in about two hours

by the time MtGox re-opens trading there won't be much BTC to sell so at least prices on the Gox should stay relatively stable

of course, this is just a quick theory based on observation
12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Reporting Mt. Gox to the Japan Financial Services Agency on: June 25, 2011, 05:05:27 PM
honestly, no more uninformed rumours please

MtGox confirmed they lost around 1000$ worth of bitcoins

the large 500.000BTC transaction that we all saw right after the hackcrash was due to MtGox moving their wallet to a more secure location

they confirmed that! my account reads correctly and my bitcoins are in place...other people have already withdrawn their BTC no problem

cut the bs please
13  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MTGox - Account Balances on: June 25, 2011, 05:02:54 PM
mine is correct too, also see some extra decimal places
14  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Software for Tradehill on: June 25, 2011, 04:42:53 PM
is SierraCharts available for Mac?

is there another alternative for real time charts for Mac OS X?
15  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox delayed opening...yet again! on: June 25, 2011, 03:56:38 PM
ok, update: I'm in!!!

all pending orders were flushed and displayed balances are correct!

trading is not enabled yet, looking good!
16  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox delayed opening...yet again! on: June 25, 2011, 03:46:08 PM
so slow, it actually doesn't load..
17  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox delayed opening...yet again! on: June 25, 2011, 03:09:11 PM
it's 15:08GMT and mtgox.com still redirects towards support page, is there another link we should be checking in to???
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Mac OS X 0.3.23 SIGSEGV crashes on: June 25, 2011, 04:13:55 AM
yeah, I don't know what's up with the Mac client but it really doesn't work well (especially if you've got FileVault turned on)

it just slows down your computer to a crawl
19  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is MtGox open yet? on: June 25, 2011, 03:17:18 AM
oh gosh, this is quite a nightmare

thanks for replying!
20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Is MtGox open yet? on: June 25, 2011, 03:11:18 AM
it's almost 10 minutes past 3:00GMT and mtgox.com still links to the support site

is there another direction that we should be checking in to?
