61  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Freedom to trade at KucoinV2 with zero trading fees for all trading pairs on: March 28, 2019, 06:41:30 AM
If you check the linked twitter announcement you will see that the zero-fee trading capability has already expired:

Quote
You can enjoy zero trading fees for all trading pairs, expiring at 23:59:59 Feb 21, 2019 (UTC+8).

Obviously Kucoin is a good platform but they also have to be profitable and make money.

62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung Galaxy S10 Official Crypto Wallet Revealed on: March 27, 2019, 12:23:23 PM
The way Samsung has played this is somewhat disappointing. ERC-20 compatible coins? Wtf? But, I get it. Even talking about crypto in relation to their newest Galaxy model is a huge step forward, not to mention the actual wallet implementation. It's important to keep the momentum going forward so that more and more people get involved in crypto. Overall it's a good news.
63  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance Raw trading data on: March 27, 2019, 07:40:57 AM
I have a problem to understand these raw data

raw Binance historic data...

Does it mean the spreadsheet contains every individual trade ever made on every currency pair?

If so, I can see why this information can be pricey, but I still have a problem to see the usability in trading. Can you share something about how people use these data in practice?

64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto estate planning on: March 25, 2019, 03:36:21 PM
I’m looking for solutions they avoid me writing a novel-length set of instructions as well as zero/minimal trust in 3rd parties.
This is a tough choice. Either your family members learn how to deal with wallets and private keys, or they should find a trustworthy 3rd party. Maybe there is another option, but I don't know about it.

You can leave this choice to them actually. The main thing is you keep the private keys (to all of your coins) in a deposit box or somewhere that your family knows about.
65  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what kind of trading will suit for me? on: March 25, 2019, 09:55:51 AM
Yea. I agree with you. None is getting that profit constantly. If someone is claiming he's doing that he is lying or he is trading since 1 month and he was lucky enough to earn that much in single month.
From 1 btc in 5 years you will get 56 000 btc and 3 000 000 btc after 10 years. Why only 3 mil? After few years of experience you should increase profit if 20% is possible for newbie.
50% per year is quite good and is achievable constantly in crypto and 20% in stocks.
Yes, it would be an amazing profit in 5 years, not to mention 10. If it only were possible.

Newbies are usually attracted by these promises and want to get rich quickly, only to lose their entire capital after a while. Otherwise market makers and exchanges that trade against their customers wouldn't be so rich.
66  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what kind of trading will suit for me? on: March 25, 2019, 08:12:16 AM
There are different kind of trading and different time frame to make profits as well right,I am looking for monthly basis profits with  10-20% profits for a cycle.
I always see numbers like these and it makes me wonder:

Did anyone really manage to have a consistent 10-20% monthly profit (month after month)?

And I have serious doubts it is possible. To quickly elaborate:

10% monthly profit cumulatively means about 200% profit a year. You start with 1 BTC and at the end of the year you have 2 BTC
20% monthly profit cumulatively means about 800% profit a year. You start with 1 BTC and at the end of the year you have 8 BTC

These are huge returns that I think even the best traders in the world couldn't make.

Sure people claim they can do it, but somehow I doubt. I think you can make it once, two times, you can even be lucky to make it five or six times, but to have such huge returns on a consistent basis is impossible.

More realistically, you can have a consistent profit of 10-30% a year, but not that amount month after month long term.
67  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BitMEX - Best Margin Trading Guides and Tips (100% Free) on: March 24, 2019, 03:00:29 PM

The link is not working: "404 Not Found", so the OP should fix the page.

Anyhow, the website you are referring us to is all about the mechanics of trading. That may be enough to get you started but to actually make money, that's hardly enough. You would have to learn a lot more, including price action, technical analysis by using indicators, money management, trading psychology, etc.

68  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.to DOMAIN is a Pishing Site [DO NOT LOGIN] on: March 24, 2019, 09:33:59 AM
This topic has been discussed here many many times, but I guess a reminder couldn't hurt. Especially if it is coming from OPs personal experience.

Sadly, the phishing site is still present in the search results of google, so one should never use google search to log in. Rather one should type in bitcointalk.org directly in the address bar to avoid this kind of phishing attack.
69  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Patience is the main key of success on trading platform. on: March 24, 2019, 08:21:59 AM
That's why a entry and exit strategy is put into place.
I couldn't agree more. You have to have some strategy to follow. And if your strategy parameters tell you to exit, you exit.

Otherwise, you will always have some regrets and missed opportunities will always linger in your mind. As a result, you will always be in a state of emotional turmoil. "Oh, I exited too soon." "Oh, I didn't exit on time." "Damn, I didn't enter where I should have."

That's why it is much better to have a definite strategy that you can quantify somehow. Either by using indicators, or in some other way. And follow it blindly. If you do, you can eliminate regrets entirely and be without emotional imbalances.
70  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there any TA guys you trust? on: March 21, 2019, 06:54:29 PM
Momentum is one thing, but how are TA people making money now, when bitcoin has been stalled for many months?
Great point. I think they can't make money. TA can be useful in trending markets, but when the market is ranging, TA is pretty much useless. Also, the sad reality is that the vast majority of TA crypto traders are losing money because they have been taught to be reversal traders, rather than being trend-following traders.

I'm not sure about this, but I think that the TA indicators (taken over from forex and the other markets) are probably not so suitable for the present stage of the crypto market.
71  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can you use a Bot to place a buy order - and set a stop-loss for it instantly? on: March 21, 2019, 03:31:29 PM
Where do you trade?

If you trade on Binance there is a bot (free of charge) you can use. The drawback is you have to have some basic skills to install and make it work.

https://github.com/jsappme/node-binance-trader

Not only does it help you set a stop loss, it can also help you set a take profit level if you like.

The other drawback is obviously you have to have a permanent internet connection (raspberry pi connected to the net 24/7 or some basic hosting where your bot can run).
72  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there any TA guys you trust? on: March 21, 2019, 03:10:24 PM
I used to follow some crypto guys that I thought were good. But then I found this guy:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc8IRYpgBr4NGbaQFnd2b-A

He doesn't do crypto, just forex and metals, but I trust his system much more. IMO it is way better than the usual BS preached and recycled by thousands of other self proclaimed experts out there.

P.S. He won't give you the exact system how to trade. Rather, he would encourage you do make your own trading system based on technical analysis by giving you the basic rules and principles.
73  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Journalling on: March 21, 2019, 11:27:31 AM
I have to admit that I'm not journalling, although I should. Keeping a journal is currently pretty low on my to-do list, so I'm constantly postponing it.

I'm aware, though, that experienced traders swear by it. Among the other things, journalling may help develop intuition and pattern recognition.

Probably this means that I'm just a beginner in trading, which in fact I am.
74  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitmex charts -vs- other exchanges' charts? on: March 20, 2019, 04:59:59 PM
I've spent 3 weeks trading with the wrong chart . Lol. That explains a few things.
Glad you figured that out.

Anyhow - I have left Bitmex. I don't trust them. And the system overload thing is criminal.
Let me know if/when you find a replacement for Bitmex you are satisfied with. I would like to try them too.

So is the XBTUSD chart on TradingView - accurate? As in; does it show the actual swing highs and lows on bitmex exchange, accurate to the 0.01$ in real time?
I think it is accurate, but I don't know about real time updates. I trade the day chart, so real time updates don't matter for me so much.
75  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Launch Your Own White Label Cryptocurrency Exchange Platform on: March 20, 2019, 02:33:59 PM
This part from your homepage caught my attention:

Providing Liquidity through order routing

I have no idea what order routing means. Could you explain a little bit more?
76  Economy / Speculation / Re: *Q2-BTC-PRCE PREDICTION-GAME* Q2 LIST GAME on: March 20, 2019, 02:24:53 PM
$6232

Reasoning: On the monthly BTCUSD chart there is a resistance level somewhere between $5800 and $6200. I would like to see this level broken (in the next couple of months), so that it could ultimately become a new support level.

@micgoossens: Thank you so much for the opportunity to participate in this game.
77  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin ETF: SEC Receives 84% Negative Feedback on Application on: March 19, 2019, 07:09:09 PM
I see that some of the negative comments revolve around market manipulation and people losing money. I tend to agree with the assessment that there is market manipulation. But there is also market manipulation (by the big banks) in the forex market that goes unpunished. People losing money is hardly an argument also. Nobody is forcing anybody to invest or trade for short term gains.

That being said, I don't think that Bitcoin needs an ETF. ETF can be a hidden source of inflation and additional manipulation. So we are better off without it.
78  Economy / Economics / Re: Largest Swiss Online Retailer Digitec Galaxus Now Accepts Crypto on: March 19, 2019, 06:30:58 PM
Great news, great indeed. Keeping the finger crossed for their system to succeed and inspire the other online retailers to follow them soon.

The system opens 15-minute-time windows for customers, during which the crypto exchange rate doesn’t change in order to make the payment with a fee of 1.5 percent.

I hope they won't regret this decision, because, in 15-minutes, the price of some cryptocurrencies can change a lot. The fee is more or less reasonable I guess.
79  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitmex charts -vs- other exchanges' charts? on: March 18, 2019, 11:31:27 AM
A question: did you use "stop market" or "stop limit"? If I remember correctly there is a difference how the price is calculated in one versus the other type of stop loss. But I don't think this would explain why your stop was triggered.

So I was trying to use another exchanges charts to trade on Bitmex. In essence.. I think.

I don't think using other exchanges charts is a good practice. On https://www.tradingview.com you can actually find the XBTUSD Bitmex chart, which I think is the best chart to use if you trade there.

However I would've thought as a result of the high liquidity on Bitmex that it would have less volatile swings?

My experience is that Bitmex has among the most volatile swings. Someone is manipulating the price heavily on that exchange.

There is no other way to explain these violent swings and immediate pull backs.
80  Economy / Economics / Re: Are currencies a "store of value"? on: March 18, 2019, 08:22:55 AM
Gold and real estate are a permanent store of value, because they have stable prices(unless there's a price bubble funded by cheap loans/printed money).Cryptocurrencies aren't a permanent store of value, because of their insane price volatility. They are a temporary store of value.

Look how similar gold and bitcoin are (if we disregard the x-axis/time and count only market psychology):

which tells us that, historically, gold also had (and still has) ups and downs and that ultimately Bitcoin behaves very much like gold.
