1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ---> Major Crypto News and The Birth Of Blockchain 4.0 Is Upon Us! on: May 03, 2020, 07:21:05 AM
I really like the way Verus :
  • Has developed new software for blockchain that is original, which pushes the possibilities of the technology, and makes it easy for everyone to just use.
  • Always harnessed the open source community by embracing other technology, instead of trying to reinvent the wheel.
  • Has got a prolific lead developer who's credentials are attested and are fully opensource.
  • Has got traditional businesses exited in using the Verus technology. As it presents its solutions in ways they can be easily used.
  • This one might trigger a reaction but I have noticed very little negativity surrounding Verus as it wants for nothing but has so much to offer.
  • Its community is a great bunch of diverse people with no cliques or prejudices.

I could go on but just install discord if you haven't and join the community..  Smiley.

Unfortunately you can't fork a coin away from gpu, unless you make the CPU miner closed source..  GPUS are re-programmable. you can fork away from an asic as its stuck doing one algo.
just sayin.

AMD updated  works on multi GPUS

https://github.com/monkins1010/LOUD-Mining-Webchain-AMD/releases/tag/v1.38

put "worker-id" : "Whateva"   in the pools section of the json to add a rig name.

also updated nvidia miner to give worker id

https://github.com/monkins1010/LOUD-Webchain-miner-nvidia/releases/tag/v1.1

ive bodged it a bit and used the password as the user id .. but it works..

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]DEFT First crypto utilizing the balloon hash, new memory hard algo on: June 19, 2018, 02:39:49 PM
I had trouble uploading the code.. So I just forked the cc miner so I could put the release on. I made 3 files balloon.h, ballooncore.cu & baloon.cu . And added in the algo to miner.cpp.

It's only using the memory of the gpus and a tiny bit of the gpus core. So don't expect the world. I tested it on a rig of 3 x 1060's. And as its v2 and v3 will be better once I've ported more code to the cuda cores.

Enjoy

Multi GPU miner forked from ccminer just add -a balloon

https://github.com/monkins1010/ccminer/releases/tag/v8.21baloon

Code:
ccminer -a balloon -o stratum+tcp://pool.deft.host:3333 -u dQ4A9GUk23h5Tm3HJZttg9brNaPCjFiutr -p x

Working on v2.

You can pick up cheap HP pavillions for about $80 c/w 4gb ram, G620, 500mB HD.  they have  4 pci-e slots and one pci-e mini you can use  to get a total of five cards.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bytom Mining - ASIC algorithm now cracked by GPU miners? Big profits? on: June 16, 2018, 06:35:05 PM
Whats your over clocking settings though? Lower TDP on the afterburner doesn't always equal lower hashes if combined with other adjustments.  When you overclock the core with 55% TDP limit applied you are basically undervolting the core.  Thats why you get:

e.g. 260h/s at stock settings @  62%TDP on a 1060 3gb  62 degrees
and 263h/s at   +160 core +400mem @ 55% TDP on the same card.

Also in nvidia inspector P0 mode forces better performance.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bytom Mining - ASIC algorithm now cracked by GPU miners? Big profits? on: June 16, 2018, 08:59:33 AM
I have 4 rigs.. ranging from 2 GB RAM to 4 GB RAM.. cant say I experience any discarded shares on any of my rigs.

oh and by the way...this algo really likes power... normally my cards use 1300w(lyra2z) to around 1500w(equi or/and eth) but this shit wants 1800w.. prolly because every CPU have to work more aswell Smiley

I guess they are releasing more efficient miners in the future!

If you want to reduce your power consumption try this:

1. Install Nvidia inspector 》 choose force p2 mode in common off.  Also choose maximum performance.

2. In afterburner. Set power limit to 55%. Then on each card set core to +150. Ram +400.  (These should work on any card. With Samsung you should go to +500ram.) Going higher ram has no effect. Higher core can help. Try steps of +10.

3. Goto power settings. Advanced in Windows and change maximum cpu usage to 10%. This will shave off about 20watts per cpu and only effect the hash rate slightly.

On a i5 4 x 1060 this gives you about 1080h/s. At about 300watts.

I've been looking for a fpga to program that is around this price point. I've tried the cyclone demo boards as I want to make a html coin miner. Html coin algo Is unique it does 3 rounds of sha256. Basically running at 2/3 speed of bitcoin algo. 700Mh/s on a 1070.. would the fpga be any use for this bitcoin style algo. I'm thinking it would be prob same speed but lot less watts.
Cheers.

same thing  Angry

do you need to but a .worker on the end of your bytom addresss?
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bytom Mining - ASIC algorithm now cracked by GPU miners? Big profits? on: June 09, 2018, 06:39:52 AM
Ive been looking at the hash rate of the v2 windows miner and over ten hours of hashing i got average 847h/s hash rate on antpool, and the devfee has hashed an average of 246h/s .

so my maths say its a 29% DEV fee on the v2 windows miner.

Im getting 280h/s extra moving from linux to windows miner.

4 x 1060 = 948h/s  i5 2500s all on x1 risers windows

on linux was 680h/s

100% cou usage in windows same as linux

It is necessary to include PCI-E GEN3 everywhere. In the rig with the i3 8400, this changes the speed from 700 to 1000-1100. On the rig with the g4400 processor nothing has changed and the card 1050 gives still 150 h / s. The CPU load is 100% on all rigs and more than 1000 h / s with 1 rig is not obtained. Pentium g4400 it does not work out more than 700-800.

You can put at least as many cards as you like, but you can not get 1000-1200 hashes from 1 rig.

I guess most mainstream motherboards only have gen3 on the first slot.

1 x PCI Express 3.0* / 2.0 x16 slot (blue at x16 mode)
1 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot (black at x4 mode, compatible with PCIe x1
and x4 devies)
2 x PCI Express 2.0 x1 slots
3 x PCI slots
* PCIe 3.0 speed is supported by Intel® 3rd generation CoreTM

That would explain the first card being a higher has rate. Jumping from an i5 to an i7 yields a 400h/s increase on the total hash rate.

1070 - card number 3. And why 1 and 2 cards are approximately equal, when the system only 1 1070 and 4 1050?

Can you tell about driver versions? Nvidia-smi shows
NVIDIA-SMI 381.22

The miner always seems to favour the first card. I get 323 307 227 232 h/s on 4 x 1060's.. all on x1 risers.. a right spread

But what pool do you use?

antpool doesn't give BTM as choice in sub-account management and uupool is not in english (and at sign up, my phone number doesn't work).

You don't need to register to be paid

Ok, but what is the minimum payout? And/or where can I see my workers on antpool? Because I don't know if I mine for nothing...
1 Btm. Automatic payout.

Ok, thanks.
I done this ./miner -url stratum+tcp://stratum-btm.antpool.com:6666 -user bm1qjjgxddt9cagqch43vfvl58nd8r2zd20634d13d.w1 one day with 400H/s and I don't receive any BTM. (It's a fake BTM address)

Edit: I'm just stupid, my wallet is not totally sync...

Mining with that string will still get you pay out from uupool. The url is inactive
