@burnedbyfees: Thank you for bringing to our attention our old and outdated FAQ question about BTC fees. If I recall correctly, that was written in 2015 and as we all know, the Bitcoin network is more congested than it was at that point. The Bitcoin network is very expensive right now. We also have work to do to communicate this difference of available funds on the exchange section. We have made massive improvements on the send screen, which it's interesting that you left those screenshots out... Here is the support article on the situation: http://support.exodus.io/knowledge_base/topics/why-is-my-available-balance-less-than-my-wallet-balanceFinally, as far as our non-existent support. I'm sorry this was your experience. Who handled your ticket? I'd like to review the correspondence.

> This project looks REALLY nice! Are you able to choose your own fees,
No. Exodus leverages API calls to use the appropriate network fee.
> And does it have a way to "send all"
Yes, the button is in the amount input.

Hi, Co-founder of Exodus here. Yep, I dropped the ball here on a prompt response. Here's what has happened, within the last three weeks, we've grown about 10x. In the last week, we've brought on three customer support reps to help with the volume. I saw your email and thought that it'd make a good training email when the rep starts the next shift. My failing was in starting to view these emails more from the perspective of just another email and not with the reverence of someone's money is on the line. I'm sorry for this Also, regarding ShapeShift. That's our fault to. Not that they didn't send out your transaction, but that we brought you to them and they didn't deliver and meet your expectations. We are evaluating on how we can bring about more reliability and stability. We don't want customers of Exodus to have exchange experiences where they don't get their money. All-in-all, this is 100% my fault. We are fighting to scale this company so that we can be around 10-years from now and it's clear we have a lot of work to do. -JP

Hello guys. I just wanted to mention that I am absolutely loving the built-in ShapeShift exchange feature of the wallet. It is super convenient and I am using it on a daily basis to facilitate my bets on different sportsbooks accepting alt-coins. I am not quite sure if it's just me but I have noticed that the exchanges made through the wallet are quite fast and probably faster than the ones made through the ShapeShift website itself. Hats off for building such a great piece of software.
Glad to know that you're enjoying it so much! Which coins are you using most frequently? And one more question. I saw on your website that there is a new version coming tomorrow. Do I need to uninstall the current version and then install the new one or I could just run the update without messing up the current build? Thanks.
You can just install the new version. Read more here: http://support.exodus.io/knowledge_base/topics/how-do-i-upgrade-exodusThanks again for using Exodus!

Hi there JP
I downloaded the Linux versions as right now I am actually working on Linux (I have windows too which I guess is pretty much straight forward from an exe file) so I cannot figure it out how to install it. I clicked on the icon that was named Exodus but no chance of working.
Is it possible this to be installed through the command line just like electrum wallet show us in their website ? If it's not the case I want to tell you to add this option as I think it will not cost much time and will save a lot of users trouble.
Just for the info Ubuntu 13.10 being used.
Hi. Sorry about the issues that you're experiencing. If I had to guess, I'm guessing that you're running a 32-bit version of Linux, because when you click on `Exodus`, it should open up. We've been building a Linux installer https://github.com/ExodusMovement/exodus-linux-installer but it's not quite working yet. We'll get this more streamlined and working better on Linux. Hello there!
To follow up on my post from yesterday. Well I installed Exodus and loaded some Bitcoins on it. The different themes look absolutely gorgeous and the UI is clean and intuitive and I think even my grandparents could use it without the need to explain to them how it works because everything is simple to understand.
I have a question though. Will there be an option in future builds to set custom fees or the lowest fee will always be preferred? Will this hinder the speed of confirming transactions by any chance? Also do you plan on releasing a mobile version?
Actually I don't have time to do any research so I will just take everything in good faith and enjoy the experience of using Exodus because it is gorgeous.
Regards.
Thanks for the kinds words 1. We're considering on how to handle the fees for advanced users such as yourself that don't care about when a transaction gets confirmed. At this moment, we haven't optimized for this yet. 2. We do plan on releasing a mobile version, but it'll be awhile before we do.

Hello JP, it looks like that you are also cautious about introducing the Exodus wallet to interested users. That's a good thing in my opinion because it will not make people expect more than what it really is. Anyway is the code of the wallet audited and are there really closed source code included in the wallet? Also please explain why. Thank you sir.
Hi, thanks for writing. This is correct, Exodus is not 100% open-source, although some of it is: https://github.com/exodusmovement/ and we're open-sourcing more of it. I'm personally a fanatic about open-source: https://www.npmjs.com/~jprichardson & https://github.com/jprichardson and would love to open-source Exodus 100%. However, we need to verify that our business model will work first. After we do that, I believe that we'll need to open-source Exodus to see our vision through. We understand respect that many users won't agree with this decision and we are comfortable with that and encourage them to use one of the many open-source options. I hope this makes sense.

Hi! Exodus co-founder here. You should be concerned - I would if I was in your shoes. I strongly encourage you to keep doing your research. Here's some social platforms where you can see the opinions of others: Alternatively, you could join our Exodus Slack and ask the 300+ members there what they think: http://exodus-invite.heroku.com/If you decide that you would like to try Exodus, please only try with a small amount. When you get comfortable with it, you can start to deposit more if you'd like. Please feel free to ask more questions if you have any.

Hey everyone! I just released Coinbolt V2 an Android mobile wallet ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coinbolt.bitcoin). It has two things that make it different than every other wallet: 1. It is preloaded with testnet Bitcoins and contains an integrated experience with a fake Bitcoin testnet shop: https://www.coinbolt.com/catshop/ (open source too: https://github.com/coinbolt/catshop) This gives new users a way to test-drive Bitcoin in a fun and interactive way without any risk of buying or losing Bitcoins. Also, you can test the wallet to make sure that you're comfortable with it. 2. It has a backup system that no other wallet has. Essentially it encrypts the data on your device and backs up all of your account names, metadata, testnet data, etc seamlessly. However, it does not backup or copy any of your private keys to the server. Your entire wallet can be restored with the click of a link (securely). Seriously, you have to experience it to believe it. Fortunately you can with just using testnet. So, do you guys think it's a good idea to use testnet coins to bring new users into Bitcoin?

Do you have a public Github URL by chance?

Short and sweet offer. Excellent. Keep us posted if he responds.

I just watched it. I don't know why I went into it thinking that he would dog on Bitcoin. After hearing his response, it seemed like a typical candid GV response. Mind sharing any of the points that you emailed him?

I love GV! He also has helped me to be better entrepreneur. It's about an hour long, do you know approx at what point he talk about BTC?
|
|
|
Well, you can't send or receive with that app. So far it's consistent with Apple's policy towards Bitcoin.
