Yes, you're guaranteed that money so long as someone ends up buying them. When you put in an offer, it stays until you retract it or somebody buys them for the price you specify.

It's not worth 9 BTC dude. And with the supposed influx of BTC value on monday, nobody's gonna drop 9 (I.E $99) on that card especially when they can wait and make money on the turn around.
26  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Monday morning rally for real? on: June 12, 2011, 05:23:34 AM
I'm planning on buying at least 3 BTC tomorrow on top of what I already have. If there's similar people, we can expect a reversal of fortune.

Bitcoins are constantly coming into existence, gold isn't. Don't compare something physical that has actual permanent value to a digital constant that doesn't actually mean anything.

Hell did I just read

You seem like you invested a lot in BTC and are posting this to feel better about your investment.

It all comes down to budget

I have a question, were can you actually find if the card is reference or not? I have two GTX 470, that I got for gaming, and I've only ran across a random forum post saying that they are reference PCBs even though they have non reference coolers and clocks to then.
Reference cards aren't made anymore, and they specifically don't have custom coolers etc. on them. If you see a card with a special cooler or similar modification, it isn't reference. If you want to be absolutely sure if it's reference, look at the card itself and to the left end of the PCI port is a small black two-point horizontal switch. If the switch is there, it's reference. If not, it isn't.

Mind if I ask what your other settings are?
32  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Recommendation for unlockable 6950? on: June 11, 2011, 02:49:03 AM
I can answer this myself: Some are unlockable, some are not. It is all luck.

No, it isn't all luck.

I'm a 6950 owner (I have 2, actually) unlocked to 6970s and unlocking is possible on reference model 6950s. These were the ones released at launch. They have the dual BIOS switch that allows you to unlock. More recent models have the switch removed. If you look around you can find reference cards from HIS/Sapphire/XFX etc. but they're likely to cost more. I happened to get mine at launch.

I use a pair of 6950s (unlocked to 6970s) and I don't get 420 each. At most (as OC'd as any software allows) I get 360 a piece (Peak of 720 MH/s total). I'd say it's a good investment, but note I didn't buy these for mining, I'm an enthusiast gamer and found mining recently.

These were sent to millions of people. Hell I got one. Don't waste BTC on this.
