Does -wallet option works in this version?
Yes, it will be an included feature on all releases going forward. i tried it today and it works well, you can rename the wallet.dat to any name (without even the .dat) and it would still regnonice it as the wallet.dat when you started it with the -wallet command line Very handy when spyware is looking for a wallet.dat .... specific commandline is -wallet=yr-renamed-wallet.dat-filename not having any wallet.dat files on my pc this sounds good,,,, can this be used on a wallet used just to store coins or is it just a master node thing ?? if it can be used on any wallet can someone point me to where i read how to use this function cheers it can be used for both yr mixing / storing coins wallet and your masternode wallets (i tried it with my MN cold wallet as well) Basicly its a commandline that you can use (-wallet=yrrenamedwallet.datfilename) with 1 condition : the renamed wallet.dat needs to be in the same folder as where the orginal wallet.dat was located. I have difficulty finding exactly where Evan mentions it now.. i think it was overwritten with his v0.10.17.21 announcement on darkcointalk but i saw it mentioned on github earlier so i was aware of it already. if yr using windows : put -wallet=yrrenamedwallet.datfilename behind the darkcoin-qt.exe in the target of your shortcut and what paramert use to load dpecific darkcoin.conf for this specific wallet??? Can I starage blockxhain on usb stick too? Therr is datadir or smth like that... |

Uhm I've updated the daemon but now my masternode does not list on https://drk.mn/masternodes.html nor on ./darkcoind masternode list | grep IP (I've already started the masternode remotely on my local wallet) You sure you followed the directions to a T? Double check your work and backtrack. Did you type your password after masternode start? Try masternode start on hot wallet (remote ). Vin still has 1k? Anything im debug log on remote or local? Oh nvm I forgot to update the local wallet to the latest version  it was the first thing i though about but you solved it yourself. ALWAYS when is the protocol change bot client have to be updated to start MN remote / local. |

I had trouble dumping the priv keys with the new wallet and many times had to request it twice, sometimes it worked first time and others not, not sure why that was, the wallet was unlocked, maybe it's just me.
Otoh I remember had the same problem recently with one privkey...wallet was unlocked and was getting error -4 if I remember good.... but don`t remember how I resolved it.... aaaaaaaaaaaa i do! I wanted to import privkey on the wallet where this privkey was already imported.... check listaddressgroupings if the wallet address you want to import is already there?  Think it will help you Cheers. btw. masternodes updated / thnx Flare Thanks, yep I've had that too in the past, but this time it wasn't re importing priv keys, but dumping them, anyway it worked the second time that I tried each, no idea why it sometimes took two tries to get them though. Like the others said delete everything in the folder except wallet.dat and let the client resync. But I'm surprised that it happens to him with that version. I had this once too.....Deleted all in %appdata%darkcoin folder except wallet and redownloaded again the blockchain, after this the msg disappeared....
I also know this message, yeah delete peers.dat

IMHO this is one of the most positive periods in DRK history so far.
Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of changes and challenges to come from a technical, infrastructure and economic perspective but the speck of darkness on the horizon is definitely visible and gradually getting bigger.

What are the cons (if any, besides time) to increasing min amount of MN's forming an anon chain?
Clearly the default of 2 is not enough given medium paranoia settings*
Why not 8 as default?
*10%-20% of MN run by bad actors
Are you trolling here or what? Get good info, 92,3 % of all MNs are on the right wallet version and are legit, 99.27% of pools are legit too.... No. I'm asking a simple question. Are there any cons to using 8 MN's in the anon chain vs 2? Based on the maths provided 2 MN's do not provide enough anon given my arbitrary hypothesis that 10-20% of MN's are being run by a bad actor (leading to a 1%-4.5% chance of de-anonymizing transactions). AT THE VERY LEAST i feel it should be gleamed from this that anybody really wanting anon should specify an 8 chain mix. (remembering ofc most "dumb" users don't look at settings. thus it should be default if possible) ahh sorry I understood your question wrongly |
