tim-bc, when you staggered turning on the miners one at a time was it only on that circuit/pdu? I have other miners currently running on other circuits and I'm wondering if I need to pull everything and then power them on again one by one.
It seemed to help the first time that all of the dragonmint were restarted, I only lost 1 board. But, after the last time it happened I have done all the steps and I still have 6 boards lost Sad
362  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Power setup for Antminer S9 on: July 08, 2018, 02:32:21 AM
Agreed.  My whole datacenter is wired based on (2) miners per 20amp 220V circuit.

I second this, the miners that I work with are also wired with 2 S9s per 20A breaker.

I also just tried out the Dragonmint T1 I bought from Farmer and it works great! The miner and PSU arrived quickly and I didn't have to do anything besides flash the new firmware and tune the miner a bit. Consistently delivers ~17th.
364  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: PROBLEM With new firmware antminer s9 13.5TH on: July 06, 2018, 10:05:03 PM
If you go to minerConfiguration.cgi and then in your browser's URL bar change minerConfiguration.cgi to minerAdvanced.cgi you can see many more frequency options for the fixed frequency bmminer.

Hi Tazers,

I tried to flash fix-650M firmware ("Antminer-S9-all-201705031838-650M-user-Update2UBI-NF.tar/gz") to my S9 (which has the default auto-freq Nov 2017 firmware), and I got this "Invalid Upgrade version" messages.
The S9 rebooted itself and it still has the default auto-freq version. So the flash failed.

Could you kindly advise what should I do to flash the fix-650M ?
Thank you very much.

You don't have to reflash firmware if you recompile bmminer to use fixed frequency. Then you just replace bmminer.sh on the miner with your modified version.

You should check my answers to this question: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4432816

The scripts check both chip and pcb temps on the S9 and S9i

D3 shipping to US?

Can you post pictures of inventory?

What is your price? PSU included?

You might want to consider lowering your price, others are selling the miner and psu together for total ~$800 per, including shipping.

I am receiving one soon and I will let you all know how it goes Smiley
370  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS Antminer S9i on: July 04, 2018, 03:45:54 AM
WTS antminer S9i for $900,
S9i rated 14TH is new with warranty in the 300-400 range with the proper coupon, I doubt you will find a buyer at that price.
371  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: fan antminer s9 on: July 03, 2018, 02:32:54 PM
The fan plugged into the outermost socket (the left one if looking from the front) on the controller board is dead, and you must replace it before the miner will hash again.

Yes, there are software fixes like recompiling the firmware, but running the S9 with one fan is a recipe for disaster. Fans are cheap, pick up a few in bulk.
372  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help with the dumbest problem on bitmain.com I cant prove Im a human on: July 03, 2018, 01:05:54 PM
It is a simple math problem. There will be two numbers with an operator like + - * in the middle and then the "=?" at the end. Don't type the numbers exactly, just type the answer to the problem.
373  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Supermicro 4U 45 Bay SAS2/SATA3 JBOD Storage Expander Perfect 4 Burstcoin on: July 02, 2018, 06:38:01 PM
For the 45 Bay, there is no room for motherboard, you will need 2 SFF-8088 SAS cables to be connected to access all the drives.

We do have a 24 Bay with motherboard if you are interested:

...

- Supermicro SAS846TQ Chassis
- Supericro H8DME-2 Server Motherboard with Dual AMD Opteron 2.1Ghz Processors
- 32 GB Server Memory
- Supermicro SAS846TQ Mounting Rails
- 3x Supermicro 8 Ports 64 Bit PCI-X Interface SATA Controller Card AOC-SAT2-MV8
- 1x SIM1U+ with AOC-USB2RJ45 IPMI Adapter
- 1x 4GB ATP SATA DOM Horizontal FLash SATA-SSD Module w/ FREENAS v11
- 2x Redundant Power Supply
- 2x Power Cord Cables
And what is the price you are asking for this?
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Xminer Advance setting for automatic frequency on: July 02, 2018, 11:40:17 AM
I don't know about the software but they are probably referring to the minerAdvanced.cgi page that allows you to set a fixed frequency. You must have a firmware or custom bmminer.sh that is fixed frequency in order for this option to be considered.
375  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Dragonmint T1 "ERROR - failed to recv spi data" on: July 02, 2018, 11:34:38 AM
Hey. Did you ever get all boards up and running again tim-bc?
I got most of the dead boards (10 out of 11) back again. But in my case, it seems like the issue was mostly due to them all booting at the exact same time.
376  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: tech question in controlling fans and temp on: July 01, 2018, 04:31:44 PM
You can read all of the temps from the S9 by calling for stats on port 4028.

For example, if you have ncat and can access the miner over your network:

Code:
echo {"command":"stats"} | nc [IP] 4028     -- for Windows
echo -n 'stats' | nc [IP] 4028              -- for Linux
377  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 Volt Rocket Ship firmware mod! ~Time to Max Out Your Bitmain PSU~ on: June 28, 2018, 03:51:56 PM
Impressive but unsustainable? At those temps the case gets so hot, wouldn't the cables begin to melt and life of the miner drastically reduce?
Also is there a point to doing this is if extra power draw negates the increased hashing power?
It looks like it would be a great setup for liquid cooling though.

The cables are rated for 125C heat. It is good to remember that the frequency can be varied based on temperature to keep below any threshold. With 35C current summer temps, it is clear that this method would be very effective during the winter.

Of course, it uses extra power, but it is still proportional. So for example instead of $4 profit - $2 electricity you can have $6 profit - $3 electricity and increase your profits by 150%.

Lastly if a board dies on a miner and warranty replacement is not possible, you can recover much of the hashrate using this method to have at least 12th left over, not far from the original 13.5th.

And temps running to 101c! Have you disengaged autoshutoff?

You are seeing chip temps there, not PCB temps. I have PCB cutoff at 90C and chip cutoff at 110C. Miner is in 30-35C ambient air. Fully air cooled, fans set manually to 100% duty cycle. Notice HW% is 0.0000%

With this firmware? I can modify it for the 1600w psu. I currently have it set for the 1800w bitmain psu.
No, I am using my own custom firmware, I was just letting you know what I have found to be the limit on a 1600w bitmain PSU. Without power limitations it is stable at 850M and above.

With the 1600W-rated bitmain PSU I have not been able to get beyond 687.5M. 14.8th is still a decent improvement, though.
