41  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best place to sell a little bitcoin on: September 17, 2019, 08:26:34 AM
I have been away for awhile and was wondering where the best place to sell some bitcoin would be?

There is no true value. It keeps fluctuating all the time and as far as we have bitcoin stretched to more than 11K recently. So you can wait until that point is reached. As you are selling small amount of money/btc then it would be worth waiting. In anyway btc is high currently. :-)

Was selling some on coinbase but now they want a copy of my ID and I don't feel comfortable with that.

Is CEX.IO a good place to sell?

Thanks

There are always best option out there. And you can use tradebtc, hitbtc or local exchanger if you have in your region. I would suggest local one as it is more safe and gives nearby people to trade with. This can help in any unsuccessful trade if any. (Recovery etc.)
I do not recommend the Hitbtс trading platform, I had a lot of delays with the withdrawal in the past on this exchange.

I also tried all of them, and my computer was infected with each of these Antivirus programs installed. To protect yourself from Trojans and hackers, you should use a complex password (really complex!) and two-factor authentication during registration. A good antivirus will not hurt, but this stuff will not protect you for 100%. Therefore, you should not keep all the savings on the exchange - it is not safe.

2FA won't help you if your malware-infected computer sees the TOTP key when you first activate 2FA on your cryptocurrency exchange account, same with complex passwords. Minimize your attack surface and think before you click something, too.
I do not understand how the virus can broke 2-factor protection if it is constantly changing very fast.

I think that in a few years, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be integrated into the international banking system. Some people will understand what I'm talking about.

Do you have telegram channel? Where I can speak with devs?

They will not say it, but the government has been already did it buy totally regulated countries.
Not sure what you are trying to say, but it is true that the banking system is often the mouthpiece of the government and how they want to keep the economy. Of course private banks run on their own accord but government banks exist and they have to follow the norms.

The problem with crypto is that it being unregulated is often a source of illegal earning from many sources and this is what they government is trying to control. They are right in their process, but they also end up hunting those who are innocent. I hope one day this can get sorted although it does not seem it will and then maybe one day governments would become pro-crypto.
On the one hand, cryptocurrency should be decentralized, but on the other hand, it shoul be regulated over manipulators and scammers, control over ICOs is required.
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Antiviruses on: September 15, 2019, 06:30:32 AM
Anti-virus use on Windows is perfect. Antivirus is usually not used on Mac or Apple. However, it should be used on a normal computer. Because the malaria virus can damage at any moment.
Ubuntu also don’t need extra protection , am I right? I just want to install it.

Ubuntu (or any other operating system, really), isn't immune against malware (even if due to lower install base not as much is written as for Windows), 0days, exploits against the system or any of its components or installed software, and you can still get phished if you don't look carefully where you log in.
I am aware of this factor, but still, if there is an opportunity to defend ourselves, then why not?

I personally do not use CEX.IO and have long since left it, occasionally using coinbase and indeed at that time they asked for a copy of ID and I agreed to it but after that I could be comfortable using coinbase, but it was not too often transacted there for fear of some negative feedback. But, if you are a person who is reluctant to send KYC, then I guess that will make you worry, because some large exchanges require us to give KYC and so far I don't think that is a problem.
KYC is something that we really cannot shy away from, because it would be worse than this in the future when there is full regulation on cryptocurrency generally by the government. kyc was never a priority of these exchanges before, but I guess they  have seen the future and they know already that it would cause them big issue when cryptocurrency becomes regulated and it would be enforced by government.

The result of the importance of KYC to government is what has led to the things we are seeing now that virtually everyone is requesting for KYC now. So the op just need to get used to dealing on exchanges with KYC, there are reliable exchanges that would never do anything bad with our data and I can beat my chest for exchanges like binance and some other ones.
If the cryptocurrency exchanges will be only with ID verifying in future, then, I will use fiat.

Not all exchanges will require KYC verification, and I think you can find those exchanges so you can use the exchanges to trade. But if you still want to use fiat, then that will be no problem. The best place to sell a little bitcoin is by the sellers who are in the same place as you so you don't have to confuse or to feel hard to sell.

I am sure you can find those sellers around in your city. Or you can browse in localbitcoin as this site was very popular among the bitcoiners. Or you can use other family members ID to register, and you can log in in every day using his ID Grin
good solution by selling it between people. it would be better if you met during the process, so that your transaction is smooth. would be risky if only known through cyberspace even though one city. if I exchange through an exchange I usually convert to doge, then transfer to a local exchange, so the fee is cheaper
By the way, in our city there are exchangers in offices of residential premises where I can cash out bitcoin, it seems to me safer than meeting with real people.

CZ is very smart man, I like his position. I think he will change something in future, to have more popularity.
His options are running out though. By definition, BNB is a security, which if he wants to offer that one to US residents, he has to knock on the door of the SEC and hope they will approve his proposal.

BNB has taken a 50% dive to where it is right now. Sure, it has gone up a lot too, but people as you know only look at what it is doing right now, and not what it has done in the past.

I'm pretty sure that he was a large seller too. He is very smart and acknowledges the fact that converting BNB to Bitcoin regularly makes him not lose too much, especially if it ends up going back to single digit prices.
People like me? Do you have any claims to me? I expressed my opinion on this person and on actions. It’s enough for me that he made a Binance launchpad.

51  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Different between Binance and Binance Dex. on: September 13, 2019, 08:20:24 PM
It still does not make any difference because people are still using their cex exchange more, despite the fact that the dex is owned by binance and still has the hype that is needed to give them all the volume they need.
The moment Binance stops rewarding people for using it, and withdraws its market makers that generate most of the volume, it's pretty much the end for them when it comes to the hype and popularity.

No dex is able to generate decent enough volumes on its own because the demand simply isn't there. I know that it's a wet dream for a lot of people here to see dexes take over, but it's not going to happen any time soon.

It potentially might never happen with how most people don't really have problems with KYC. The amount of effort needed to get dexes off the ground just isn't worth it for anyone, not even for Binance.
CZ is very smart man, I like his position. I think he will change something in future, to have more popularity.

did banks actually said that they are afraid of btc ? i guess no because i never heard any.

cryptocurrencies are only currencies and banks are not currencies but its a foundation that offers service related to currencies.

banks never feel threatened if they are only conceren is the competition between thier business to cryptos.

banks are only afraid with thier co bank mates since both of thier  advocacy are the same .
They will not say it, but the government has been already did it buy totally regulated countries.
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banking system and BTC on: September 12, 2019, 07:29:07 PM
I feel bitcoin is depended on banking system yes when I understand the logic, To purchase/sell bitcoin or any crypto currency we need to make a transaction through banking FIAT system ultimately even to proceed converting to our local currency there is a dependency so both banking system and crypto bitcoin rely on each other.
That has a certain connection and couldn't make it if there are the absences of banks support. But some people negatively think that banks are against crypto and also crypto are dragging banks to collapse which I believe that they are totally wrong without knowing that some crypto is tied up with banks.

Will it have to open up the minds of others and stop saying that banks and crypto are in the war cause that it really doesn't make sense.
There is no war becouse those people who had a lot of fiat, also have a lot of crypto.
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Antiviruses on: September 12, 2019, 07:26:41 PM
I don't think that Antivirus are so important.
They provide you the basic protection, but the user should be cautious in every action he does on his PC. If you don't be careful and download malicious content or press on dangerous links, the antivirus won't be the one to be blamed.
But what is the problem to install antivirus and don’t worry? It is very easy app.

Asking idenfication of coinbase is compulsory because cpinbase excha ge need to report all user of their exchange specially the US citizen for the implementation of taxe collection.
Check it out in the coin market cap what is the best exchnage you can sell  your coins with low rate transaction fee for you comfortabllity.
The same story I heard about LocalBitcoins, that this platform give our documents to the government.
58  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Different between Binance and Binance Dex. on: September 12, 2019, 07:21:40 PM
Binance DEX just allow the token on Binance Chain, so it cannot surpass Binance CEX because Binance CEX integrates all coins and blockchains.
Currently I heard the information that OKEx deploying OK Chain, to be able to compete directly with Binance in the future.
From your words, I realized that Binance Dex is a centralized platform that runs on its own blockchain?
That's the nature of decentralized exchange, just like IDEX and Etherdelta (forkdelta), they are all trading only ETH tokens that runs in ETH network, and we called them decentralized because we can access the site without opening an account and complying with the KYC.

However, Binance DEX and IDEX if I'm not mistaken have already started to put some KYC requirement.
In Binance DEX, there are countries that are not allowed to use the platform, so it's not really decentralized.
You are right, I liked Idex before it, there were a lot of different hype tokens.
