Please add Gridcoin! The only crypto currency where the hash cycles promote scientific research.

If you're looking for novel innovations then you should add Gridcoin.

This is exceptional. I will help spread it. Thank you.

We need to work on Gridcoin marketing. Here's a tweet I wrote for the official twitter or anyone else generous enough to put up the gridcoins. If people donate gridcoins to me I will host the giveaway.
Example tweet:
"Giving away 1000 Gridcoins! To enter
1) Retweet 2) Make the Gridcoin logo your profile pic
Winner picked March 20" *attach the picture of the new Gridcoin logo here
I remember Earthcoin doing this and it created A LOT of buzz.

Gridcoin needs more marketing.
I've been quite heavily pushing it on reddit, and we've only got 50 suscribers on there. Reddit is a great way of establishing a community for a cryptocurrency; we should really try that angle. But in the mean time, people have successfully reached out to boincstats to get them to accept gridcoin. We should next contact EVERY boinc project directly, and ask if they'll accept gridcoin donations, and for them to put a gridcoin donation button up on their pages. We'll donate a bunch of grc to them, and their regular users will ALL see gridcoin on the official project pages and we'll get the core boinc users flooding to us in droves. What we could also do, is go to the major boinc team forums and post that they can offset their electricity costs by participating in cpu mining boinc at the bare minimum, and go further with gpu mining. edit: On another hand, could someone elaborate on why we need beacons in the first place? We've got the gridcoin team stats online, is it just a second layer of verification that the work is getting performed? And what's happening to these grc being used as beacons? My beacons are about 1GRC in size, usually going to similar addresses.. Can we raise funds or get people to volunteer to do giveaways on reddit and twitter? I've seen very successful giveaways on twitter by asking people to 1) retweet and 2) Change their profile picture to the gridcoin logo. Everyone starts seeing the logo everywhere and it goes viral. I've got a couple thousand twitter followers that follow me for crypto news and I would be glad to retweet it without the chance of winning.

thanks, seems like the miner takes a lot of trouble to set up so i want to know a little more detail
-What's the current network difficulty and where do i find this info?
-I have 3 Mh/s, from what i'm reading it looks like I should be solo mining? is CPU mining worth it? I have several i7 quadcore / hexcore cpu's what kind of hashrate would they get in comparison do a 280x GPU?
-On the pool I only see 14 miners? Did there use to be way more at some point? With a market cap of $300,000 I'm kind of confused who is creating all the coins, is everyone just solo mining?=
-Does mining this use the same wattage as normal scrypt mining?
When I sign up, what is "Default GRC address?" I put mine as wutwutinthebutt
pool mining hasn't been set up yet because it's more complicated with gridcoin than other coins.

I agree that we need to scale back the number of gridcoins to the original 84 million with appropriate difficulty retargeting possibly using kimotos gravity well. I invested in gridcoin because I believed in the vision but if investors continue to get hosed by quadrupling the number of coins then people will stop investing, the value of the coin will plummet, and we won't be able to advance the scientific causes we all would like to.
We didn't quadruple the number of coins. We doubled the number of coins when we doubled the network mining types. When we had 184 million total projected coins, we only had GPUs.Now we have 1300 CPUs doing CPU mining for half of the total networks reward schedule. I surely hope you don't believe they are not doing anything, because they are the only reason why we reached #52 in the world. If we didn't have cpumining, we would still be #1000 in the world, but yet with a 10~ difficulty and with 250 gpuminers. Gridcoin has expanded exponentially because of the cpuminer feature. It ALSO would not be fair to take away half of their reward and tell them we were kidding. You cannot have it both ways. I am willing to discuss this further, but my point is we made a team decision to double the coins to implement CPU mining instead of halving the reward when cpu mining was implemented. Rob H. My mistake. I misunderstood that. So now the cap is 368 million coins? I do appreciate the work that you're putting into this by the way. I do think CPU mining is important and that it will add to the value of the coin and accomplish more scientific research. The same can be said about a partnership with Berkeley. Again, thanks for the work you're putting in and let the community know if there's any way we can help.

Stay away from these scammers. 3 months minimum to pay BTC back. Who wants to bet they are "hacked" again before then?
I'm sorry that you're in the minority but I've been paid back.
