41  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: I got a centrifugal fan - Can anyone provide guidance on wiring? on: July 05, 2011, 12:04:36 AM
N is neutral, L is the hot-line. This fan doesn't require an earth-ground.

From my understanding, Squares 19 and 20 are showing how to wire it for different fan velocity. 19 is showing maximum vel, and 20 is minimum velocity. 20a is showing how to wire a switch between N1 L3 and 3 to switch between high and low velocity.

Don't you cool story bro me. I know where you live.
43  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: PSU bust? on: July 04, 2011, 09:27:06 PM
I couldn't tell exactly, it wasn't high pitch one, but was loud cranking type of noise as if either something was in a way of fans which wasn't the case, or transformer/capacitor was going to blow up but not too electric discharge sounding.   I expected noise to continue when I turned it up again, but it runs normally now like it did before. No insect can get in there, and I don't have many of those in my house except occasional fly get inside of house with back door opening.

Now that I think about sometimes I hear very very quiet high pitch sound but I was thinking it was one of the fans

High pitched screeching-like sounds are usually capacitors attempting to commit suicide. I'm not sure how well you can look inside your PSU, but if you see the capacitors bulging at the top, then they're getting close to giving out.

The reviews on newegg are so misleading most the time. Most of the 1 egg reviews are because the item was DOA, which the review system specifically says not to do when submitting a review. Also, the distribution of reviews is heavily skewed to 5/5 or 1/5, since the education system makes people think 2.5/5 is not average but failing.

45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What weird shit do people fixate on when they criticize bitcoin? on: July 04, 2011, 09:17:42 PM

God, haven't seen that anti-meme for a while. Good laugh out of it.   Cheesy
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TradeHill - 4th of July special .3% commission until July 10th on: July 04, 2011, 08:02:59 PM
I approve of this thread.

I think someone put a little too much time into formatting.
47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Absolute proof that Bitcoin is the DEVIL! on: July 04, 2011, 07:24:24 PM
Everyone analyzes his first name, Sato (聡). It is sometimes interpreted as "wisdom".  But what about Nakamoto (中本). My Japaneese is not very good, but I read that as "middle root" or "inside originator". Something like that.
And of course, 聡中本 is a common name.

Or if you don't use predicates, inside book, which leads me to the next BTC conspiracy theory: Satoi naka ni hon = Wisdom inside book. By dropping the "i" after Sato (Satoi = wisdom), and dropping the predicate "ni" after naka(inside), we get Satoshi Nakamoto by certain readings of the kanji (I don't have a knaji keyboard, too lazy to get symbols). Wisdom inside book = someone who wrote a paper on BTC... CONSPIRACY!!
48  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Tradehill matching Mt. Gox commission now on: July 04, 2011, 06:54:42 PM
ok sorry,

maybe i just read just to many "tradehill's superior" posts the last days, and your sig give me the rest...

but: there is no reason for your post in "mining"...(or bitcoin discussion ...)

Probably better posting here, since most miners are interested in exchange sites and that Bitcoin Discussion is filled with "OMG BITCOIN CRASH!!!111oneone!1" threads.

That's.... That's not proper Japanese at all. I don't think you even know what Japanese is.  Huh

50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitPonzi: GLBSE pyramid scheme! on: July 04, 2011, 06:46:40 PM
I don't think you're supposed to advertised a ponzi scheme with this amount of transparency. At least you get points for originality.
51  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: uninstalling APP (stream sdk ) ?? on: July 04, 2011, 06:40:23 PM
Have you tried something like Revo? I'm not sure if it'll detect those, but it's worth a shot since Revo has a free version.
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is deepbit.net cheating? on: July 04, 2011, 05:49:11 PM
I read your argument, and I don't even care about the topic - but it affords me a chance to get something off my chest.

What is it with you newbies and senationalist topics?

When the price of bitcoin goes down 40 cents, its "CRASH CRASH CRASH" not, "Hey, see a weakness at this level - what do you think?"

When you don't have any information, you take a random frantic stab and say "THESE GUYS CHEAT!! (I think, er, well maybe)" instead of "Anyone have a similar experience? What is going on?"

I'd love to see threads that weren't headlined in the most drama-fueled way possible. Or perhaps, this is just the fallout from 'reality' shows permeating cable networks, to the point where 'news' shows parody the very events they are supposed to be objectively reporting on. It takes restraint to not stir up the pot, and whenever I see one of these "Waving Flag - ALERT ALERT ALERT" kind of posts, I just have to wonder how much sugar they've had this morning.

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled "BTC IS DEAD" and "IT IS GOING TO ZERO" crap topics.

It's the way internet boards are going these days. Reddit.com is a great example of how a good site turned into another sensationalist only trash heap. All the top stories either have misleading sensationalist titles, or point to sensationalist articles. It's pretty much Liberal Fox News over there.

They're estimations that use different math....
54  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I hear often that mining is not worth it anymore for newcomers, is this true? on: July 04, 2011, 05:27:57 PM
Actually I decided to buy for now one 6950 for my gaming needs, but since most of the time I have to spend time on my laptop to study, I will use it for mining. I found a great offer of the 1GB version with a game present, so I think I will most certainly buy it, even if I won't make any profit from mining.

That's a good way to go. I upgraded my graphics card in January, and the one I got happened to be one a good mining card, and I didn't realize that at the time since I wasn't aware of bitcoin. I don't consider that a investment into bitcoin since my desktop is my gaming rig I've built over the last few years. Getting a free game is always great too.
55  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: More difficulty = higher BTC price is an urban legend on: July 04, 2011, 05:19:30 PM
A lot of people having been saying that Difficulty increases as price increases, not the other way around. I think June showed some supportive evidence to that theory.
56  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: new plastic burn in smell gets you high? on: July 03, 2011, 09:05:38 PM
Carbon has a nice smell to it too. Get some resistors rated for low watts (.5 to 1 work best) and put them in the wall outlet.
57  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today I stimulate the economy on: July 03, 2011, 09:00:47 PM
There's some BTC porn site around, maybe you can stimulate more than just the economy today.
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You have 5 days mtgox on: July 03, 2011, 08:58:50 PM
I lol'ed.

I haven't seen a mtgox hate thread with this much formatting before. This guy must be really serious with that threat
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you getting any bitcoin sales? on: July 03, 2011, 08:56:57 PM
I bought a Headless Server from www.btcdeals.com and a seedbox from www.seedunlimited.com, but other than that I haven't found much of anything that I utilize. Ever since I've paid off my mining machines I've been looking for opportunities other than currency exchange for BTC, but not many things I'm interested in are there yet. I guess I'm also a minimal person who does not prefer to have an excess of material goods.
60  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the BEST way for me to mine with Nvidia GTX 460 and Intel Quad Core on: July 03, 2011, 08:48:29 PM
best way for you would be selling your nvidia gfx and buying AMD/ATI instead. I think you will be able to find good candidates among AMD lines in threads already existing.

Yep, best advice yet tbh.

If you want BTC and don't have proper mining hardware, you should really just buy them over mining them. You'll get more BTC/dollar that way. Don't think that mining is the only way to get BTC, and don't think that it's free either. With inadequate hashing power, you, or the person responsible for the bill, will be spending more on electricity than you will receive through BTC.
