Why not? Crypto has a lot digital currencies to suggest and I assume that some of them will be adopted in a long term.
So from my point of view there is a future .

Now it is easy to select such coins. just look at top 100 coinmarket cap and take some altcoins with ready product.
As for me it is easy to achieve high ROI in long term just invest now

For sure no, with current rate of ethereum it is not profitable, you can switch on other coins, but in general mining profit is close to 0 and some miners work in loss!
