1  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [CLOSED] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: September 29, 2015, 01:09:50 PM
Just wanted to say a huge thanks to eleuthria for running such a professional pool. Really appreciate it!

Just started mining on ScyptGuild. Have no idea what I'm doing but it appears to be working.  Smiley Site looks great so far, with lots of goodies in the pipeline. Cheers to eleuthria for another great piece of work!

Now to work out how to get my Gigabyte GV-R929OC-4GD-GA 4G from 546.62 KH/s to ~900KH/s...  Grin

A noob question, not specifically BTC Guild related, but wondering how you can tell if you are resposible for finding a block. I know this doesn't affect payout, but just curious...

I did pretty well out of the Jupiters. I also ordered Neptunes. But when the silence became deafening I decided to get a refund. This was a about 2 days before the datacentre shenanigans. I think it was the right decision. Just too many suspect elements to 'Plan B'. KnC have lost their transparency. I think it will all end in tears. Happy to be wrong, but in the mean time, I'll content myself with Jupiters beavering away...

did u get a response or refund yet?

Yep, money has come through.

Thanks for this. I can ping the US server ok, but the EU server seems to be dropping the ICMP, so unsure of my ping time there.

Cheers.

Just a general question. Does ping time have any bearing on the effectiveness of mining in a pool? I'm on the opposite side of the planet, so have a ping of circa 260 ms. Are there any noticeable disadvantages to this? Not that i can do a whole lot about it, but curious none the less.  Wink

When I started mining here in late October I was getting .5 BTC daily. I thought the network and diff grows to a certain rate, right? I never remember getting .3 .4 ever, it just dived to .1 and stayed there. It basically jumped from .5 to .1 pretty much skipping all the numbers in between. Where did those .3's and .4's go? I would have loved to see them.

You clearly weren't paying attention.  The network difficulty has been going up by roughly 20-30% every 10-11 days since October.  Your earnings have similarly declined regularly since then.  On a day to day basis they've gone up and down wildly (look at the luck chart which shows the last 3 months of luck per shift), but on average, each 10-11 days has been earning you less than the 10-11 days previous.

Who has time to pay attention? I'm a working man and put in my 16 hour days and come home too tired to think about luck or the difficulty. Smiley

That's it! I'm moving my 22TH/sec somwhere else.

One less whining buffoon on this thread. Good times.

There doesn't seem to be any problems with the private server which I believe is in the US.

There is a private server? Why is it private? You pay more fees or something?

Is there an ETA when we will be able to connect to the US server again?
I think we have 5 or 6 confirmed cases already.

Access to the private server is by invitation.  In the past, Eleuthria has offered access to many others during persistent DoS attacks.

So us public scum bags pay the same fees you pay but you have access to "private" servers we can't access? Nepotism at its best here. I guess the fees I pay aren't that good to get into the "private" club.

Hey, why don't you ask for access?  If you have some significant hashing power I'm sure eleuthria would be happy to oblige.

But then again, you're such a DICK he might not.

Lol

This certainly specific to BTC Guild, but I'm just curious as to what folk are doing with their NMC mined by the pool? Specifically storage. AT the moment, mine are just building up on BTC Guild.

Cheers.

I think that the benevolent and clearly illustrious cyper should create a pool. Average pool luck will be 7000%. Pool fees will be -10%. Reports will be limitless thanks to a data warehouse, provided free of charge of course.

100% support from me cyper. But while you're beavering away on this, just STFU and GTHO. Idiot.

Really interesting and informative thread. If it wasn't for the generally obnoxious crap coming from the cyper droid, it would be a pain free read. Perhaps the moderators could endear themselves to the next 100 pages or so and silence the moron.

I have had Jupiter kit running on BTC Guild since day one. Very happy with the pool and cheers to eleuthria for taking the time to answer questions while keeping people in the loop.

I have blockchain, but from what i can tell, it converts your entire balance to cold storage when you do it using their options? Is that the case?
15  Other / Beginners & Help / from eWallet to paper on: January 04, 2014, 11:33:59 AM
Hi All. This is probably a super newb question, so i guess I'm in the right place.... Smiley

I have an eWallet. I would like to commit a few BTC to paper in 1 BTC increments. I think i know how to do this, but want to get some verification before i try.

1) Go to bitadress.org
2) Generate a single wallet
3) Print this out
4) Go to the eWallet provider
5) Sent 1 BTC to the 'Share' BTC address on the printed wallet
6) Repeat this process for each BTC i wish to send to a printed wallet

Does this look correct? As long as i have fully secured the paper wallet (store in a safe or something), is each BTC 100% secure and 'Offine'?

Finally, if i want to send these paper BTC back to my eWallet, is this an easy process?

Thanks in advance.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / eWallet for NMC on: January 04, 2014, 07:52:24 AM
Hi All. I currently mine with BTC Guild, who also pay out NMC. Just wondering if there are any reputable eWallets for NMC.

At the moment, they're just sitting in BTC Guild gathering dust.

Thanks in advance.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many newbies are mining? on: January 04, 2014, 07:36:41 AM
Have been reading about bitcoin for a while, but only started mining a month ago.
I was fortunate enough to pick up a KNCMiner Jupiter in the 1st week in December.

It's been mining perfectly since setup. I would have liked it have it set up sooner, but the device has more than paid for itself in a month.

Onward and upward from here! Enjoying all the info on this forum.

Cheers.
