1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm so happy this is happening! on: February 02, 2018, 08:02:54 PM
The correction we are experiencing right now is necessary for bitcoin to reach $100,000.

Also, money is flowing out of crypto at the moment and no new money is coming in. If some were able to move to fiat some 3 weeks ago, they are in a good position to come back in the coming weeks.

There is some sense in these speculations. Meanwhile, I do not think that Bitcoin will go so high. And the prognoses about 100 thousand for 1 BTC seem to me something very unreal. I vote  for 20-25K maximum.

I understand this not at all, so you can see it hitting 25k but not 100k? You realize it's completely arbitrary right, what if instead of 21 million Bitcoins there were 210 million bitcoins would the max in your head then be 2 thousand dollars? What if it was 2.1 billion Bitcoins, then you could never see it getting over 200$.

Satoshi used to post on this board (obviously) and he said either Bitcoin would be 0 or it would be enormous. 25k is nothing... A person wasn't meant to own an entire Bitcoin there's only 21 million of them.

I find it quite remarkable how optimistic people are. Everybody now says that this the right time to buy, but what happens when all the FUD continues throughout 2018? I believe that 2018 will be the year cryptos will become heavily regulated and I am wondering if this will really help drawing in new investors, which is an absolute prerequisite for prices to grow. The incredible surge of 2017 was caused by an enormous hype in the mainstream media, currently there is only talks about the negative sides of BTC. If this trend does not reverse I see dark times ahead.

I can also understand those that bought around the end of 2017 and who believed that the bullrun would continue and are now desperate to sell. Do you believe that there will be any fundamental news that will cause BTC to rise again? I don’t see any on the horizon.

Yea but Bitcoin is 9 years old now! Everything you just said folks said the last time it went from 1200 to 200. Anyone who has been around long enough has seen this exact thing play out many times.

It's a hype cycle but for 9 years everytime it recovers from the loss of hype it blows up even higher because it's one of the greatest inventions of our generation!
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm so happy this is happening! on: January 31, 2018, 04:35:04 AM
Do you guys really think BTC will reach $100,000 per coin? This is near impossible and I'll be the first one to hedge against that. This dip has got me a little worried I have to say. It's the biggest pullback I've seen since I started investing, and the manipulation of the market will eventually require USA government to step in. Who knows what will happen once that occurs.

Wow really? It went from worthless to 2 cents from 2 cents to 20 cents, 20 cents to 2 dollars, 2 dollars to 20 dollars 20 dollars to 200 dollars 200 dollars to 2000 dollars and 2000 dollars to 20,000 dollars.

it's gone up 1000% half a dozen times and you are betting against it going 5x from its all time high?!

This wouldn't be much of a leap of faith at all, what does it need to hit 15-20% of the market cap of gold for that to happen, it annihilated 100% of the silver market cap.

Also the comment about 'faster and cheaper alts' is misguided, it's all open source software, anyone can take anything from anyone...
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / I'm so happy this is happening! on: January 31, 2018, 03:00:00 AM
I always kind of hoped that one day all the fair weather fans would start to wander off. The folks would lose interest and forget why Bitcoin got to where it is today. It blew up so fast that I worried I'd never be able to acquire Bitcoin but it seems a miracle has happened. Everyone in this space now has no idea what the point even is!

Smiley It's terrific, before Bitcoin hits 100k and eventually a million a whole new wave of noobs are coming and going driving the price back up and then eventually leaving. You guys know this exact thing already happened right? The people that get Bitcoin keep stock piling, everyone else loses interest time passes and it explodes up again.

Anyway, thanks to everyone that contributed to bring the price down. I truly appreciate it and it was good having you around for a while. Smiley
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I hold BTC 0.05 for future ? on: December 29, 2017, 06:23:33 PM
bitcoin as an investment is over.
I suggest to invest this 0.05 into other crypto-currencies. Many are gaining traction now. You can buy new cryptos after studying their features and determining whether they will be accepted by the public or not. If the public is interested in it, the price will rise. look into new coins with low price range $0.01 to $20. Diversify if you are not sure.

I believe bitcoin price will fall as soon as people realize that transactions are not private or anonymous. This day may or may never come  Roll Eyes
I hope 2018 will be the year of decentralized-anonymous-private and open-source cryptos.

Ha, this might be the most ridiculous post I've seen on this board. Bitcoin is just a baby, it's just now starting to get noticed on a global scale an they are just now starting to prototype solutions that will make it a viable global currency.

Everyone is so misguided, it's hard to watch. Bitcoin is software, there's a lot of work going into making it the best. Some of this work will remove the purpose of the majority of alt coins.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / HAHAHHA Can we meme this video "Who would want bitcoin..." on: December 09, 2017, 01:28:17 AM
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/bitcoin-end-may-be-near-just-maybe/

At ~1:45 the guy says like a maniac, "Who would want Bitcoin when you can get cryptocurrency from the fed?!, exactly!

That's fucking silly!

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash - What is the future bitcoin on: December 02, 2017, 04:57:20 PM
Bitcoin in cash has significant improvements over the original bitcoin. Therefore, in order to keep the original bitkoyin its leadership position, it needs to constantly improve, and first of all to solve the issue with the bandwidth of its transactions. In connection with this bitkoyn cash already looks quite promising, in connection with which many already partially invest in it as a fairly profitable coin.

Yea but this is silly, I don't own any Dash as an example but it's a lot better than bitcoin cash as are a lot of the earlier forks. There's nothing special about bitcoin cash.
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: HODL, HODL you %$@#$ on: November 26, 2017, 06:48:47 AM
But most of bitcoins I have I can't prove they have a legit origin and therefore can't be spent unless in small amounts over time. What would be the point to have a fortune but don't be able to spend it?

Even a single bitcoin would be too much to cash out fully, if the price indeed reaches 500k dollars

Having the Bitcoin is to have a fortune, as soon as you convert it to Fiat, it's not longer 'a fortune'. In Satoshi we trust.
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: HODL, HODL you %$@#$ on: November 26, 2017, 06:40:59 AM
but there are times when you need money and had no choice but to sell it and a lot sell it to use it in there daily needs. sometimes we are affected by the changing of price and become impatient.

weak hands, I suppose. Honestly, I'm not sure I'm even capable of selling.
10  Economy / Speculation / Re: HODL, HODL you %$@#$ on: November 26, 2017, 06:23:31 AM
So, it's going to get hard, now obviously but don't get got. Bitcoin IS going to go well over 500,000$ and honestly it might always be a bad choice during the duration of you lifetimes to ever convert your bitcoins back to clamshells, fiat or whatever your country offers. Don't do that.

HODL!

Smiley It's ALWAYS been a bad choice to sell bitcoin (in the history of Bitcoin) and it always will be. I truly want what's best for you loyal bitcointalk'ers and that's keeping your Bitcoin.

^THIS ^ FACT ^

I love it, "have you ever sold Bitcoin? yea? You fucked up" Don't ever make that mistake again. It was never a good idea, it will NEVER be a good idea. There is no 'getting out point' that shouldn't even be a consideration.

there are times when selling bitcoin is not a bad idea at all. you don't have to sell everything the same way you don't have to go all in! for example there are times you need money, you can sell some small portion like 10% to get that money and enjoy your long term profit.
there are also times when you speculate a drop, like back when the BCH drama started during the SegWit2x cancellation. and then by doing that you will have more money to buy back at the bottom and have more bitcoin.

Yea folks have been saying that since it was 36 cents. It's always been a bad choice and it will ALWAYS be a bad choice to sell. You will feel like an idiot when it hits >1 million dollars no matter what your justification was for selling it.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'll never stop buying Bitcoin on: November 26, 2017, 06:11:56 AM
Just bought another 200$ worth. It's not much but it's all I can do. I'll keep buying though, not buying Bitcoin has always been a mistake and selling Bitcoin will always be a mistake. Seems like simple math.

Your purchase for $200.00 USD of BTC has started

Your funds will be available by

December 02, 2017

Oh fuck all this posting has inspired me:

0.0214 BTC will be available in your My Wallet on 12/6/2017

Maybe you all add to it? (just kidding don't do that Tongue )

Wow can't believe I missed this post. Tezos is going to be huge. You have all been warned.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tezos: A Self-Amending Crypto-Ledger on: November 22, 2017, 02:52:45 AM
At this point a class action lawsuit is only going to hurt investors. If you got in on the ICO, the value of your Tezos is still up some 500%.
Quite impressive considering nothing has happened. It was obviously a mistake to partner with Johann Gevers. But I would still trust the Breitman's, and give them some time to get this resolved.

This was never an investment that had any guaranteed timeline, and February still seems fair to me. A class action lawsuit will only add to the problems and delays.

I don't follow this at all. I only transact in Bitcoin, I bought one bitcoin worth and I have one bitcoin worth in value currently. I'm not 500% at all. In fact with the forks I'm down about 2000$

That said, Tezos will be huge (some day) but right now, I'm down.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tezos: A Self-Amending Crypto-Ledger on: November 16, 2017, 11:23:26 PM
Does anybody understand how is it possible that such a complicated PR with Tezos, with a class action of 30.000+ ico investors and the propalated problem between the founders, still have a 4x ico price in HitBTC???

I couldn't participate in the ICO and now I want to buy on HitBTC before it is lunched because the price could even go higher.

I'll save you the time, since I've been here for years and I know how to read. Tezos is one of just a handful of real projects. It's been in the works for several years and is like a 'grown up ethereum'

Opportunities like Tezos don't come around very often, almost never.

The tokens will be released. Arthur the main guy is actually incredibly active, on any given day you can find him on the riot channel. It's progressing pretty well I feel.

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin crash < 1000$ on: November 13, 2017, 06:16:28 AM
Sinking hard, you know because it's a bullshit alt. If you just want faster transactions, lower fees pick something better than a Bitcoin knock off. I don't endorse any because the REAL Bitcoin will implement these things over time but don't fall into the Bitcoin cash trap.
