I always kind of hoped that one day all the fair weather fans would start to wander off. The folks would lose interest and forget why Bitcoin got to where it is today. It blew up so fast that I worried I'd never be able to acquire Bitcoin but it seems a miracle has happened. Everyone in this space now has no idea what the point even is!

It's terrific, before Bitcoin hits 100k and eventually a million a whole new wave of noobs are coming and going driving the price back up and then eventually leaving. You guys know this exact thing already happened right? The people that get Bitcoin keep stock piling, everyone else loses interest time passes and it explodes up again.

Anyway, thanks to everyone that contributed to bring the price down. I truly appreciate it and it was good having you around for a while.

this is just your assumption, you are not sure of that... when the price was 1000 and see that it was this same month last year that the price of bitcoin fell from  $1000 I think if the memory does not fail me for  $700 everyone said that bitcoin died. when the price reached  $5000 and china banned the exchange and bitcoin fell to  $3000, everyone said that bitcoin died and that it was impossible to reach  $7000, see: today is $10.000... so do you think bitcoin is dead? if bitcoin die, all altcoin die too!

these better coins that you are talking about that are better than bitcoin, depend of bitcoin, if bitcoin falls, then those coins also fall.

i am actually a bit mad about what is happening right now because it proves once again that bitcoin market is still susceptible to manipulations, and as you said there are a lot of newbies who are making a certain group of people (the market makers if you will) richer each time something like this happens.

each time i see something like this is spread in the news and then price tanks i recall the glorious day back in January 2015 when same thing happened and my orders which were placed for fun at $170 and $180 were filled... and that was nearly the start of me buying bitcoin.

Been there when it hit 20K, thought there would be no end to the gains. Happy too it went down to reasonable price.
BTW, i started buying BTC when it was only 4-6K levels and was not able to buy more when it suddenly exploded.

Wow really? It went from worthless to 2 cents from 2 cents to 20 cents, 20 cents to 2 dollars, 2 dollars to 20 dollars 20 dollars to 200 dollars 200 dollars to 2000 dollars and 2000 dollars to 20,000 dollars.

it's gone up 1000% half a dozen times and you are betting against it going 5x from its all time high?!

This wouldn't be much of a leap of faith at all, what does it need to hit 15-20% of the market cap of gold for that to happen, it annihilated 100% of the silver market cap.

Also the comment about 'faster and cheaper alts' is misguided, it's all open source software, anyone can take anything from anyone...

Will the 2017 cycle be repeated? Just as prices have fallen to steady levels, then the fever in the world crypto market. I no longer have a good profit in the moment. However, I will patiently wait for that repeat boom. I think reaching $ 100,000 with bitcoin is not easy. Too many recent changes have created a detriment to bitcoin in the world.

Yes I do think that bitcoin will reach $100,000 per coin soon. Look at the distribution and increase of bitcoin every year, it's more than 100% last year so the same thing can come up until it reaches $100,000.

This is not the right time to conclude, and we can't say altcoins will still exist if bitcoin fall hard. Bitcoin is a great technology that everyone should use, this is the best time to own bitcoin at a lower price, we are still lucky that we see bitcoin on this level before its go high better to grab this opportunity now.
