I have a question about mining XMR.  Is it possible to make an ASIC miner for Monero using the current ASIC hardware?
XMR is Memory-bound by design using AES encryption and several SHA-3 candidates, is this chosen to make it more difficult for the ASIC's to enter the market?

Thanks.

EDIT: Here's the answer: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/285f43/is_monero_asic_miner_proof/

Resident idiot here.  0.9 is synced and I tried to restore a wallet from seed which after difficulties I was able to do in Oct. after updating to the windows beta.  I tried the instructions on getmonero.org>knowledge base but when I try any commands it thinks it's a wallet name so obviously I'm at the wrong spot but don't know where the correct place is.  I looked at my postings from Oct. as I was successful then but it was no help Tongue

Maybe I do need a GUI after all Tongue Grin

Me too!  I mean not the idiot part  Grin, but the need for gui wallet. Anyone know what the status of that is?

Hydrogen Helix runs fantastic on OSX.
Any plans for implementing the terminal buttons? (Tab for filling in, and up arrow for last command)?

Thanks!

The link on the getmonero site still points to the previous version..

774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Launch 31st March[Updates&Discussion] on: March 31, 2015, 07:57:01 AM
Hey guys!  Was out of touch for a while (personal life issues) and realized I now know nothing about what is going on.  Can I still claim my stake in some way?  I received a token in October to claim my stake - is that still useful at all?  Or have I missed the train completely?  Thanks for any clarification yall can give me Smiley

In case the NEM team sees this, I'm happy to show proof in any way and/or wait a few weeks til things settle down to figure things out with you guys!

Send a PM to patmast3r, maybe he can help you.

Maybe helpful for some of us:

I was looking for a way to get my node published on the nembex site (http://nembex.nem.ninja/#nodes)

The tutorial on how to achieve this is here: https://forum.nemcoin.com/tutorials/configuring-your-network-to-reach-nem%27s-cloud/

This is actually a milestone in NEM history!  If, and I have no doubt about it, multisig betatesting will go as planned, a bright future awaits for the launch of NEM.

Great work devs and ofcourse: Great work to the many people who are involved!

Guys as this is a no envy coin can I make a suggestion. If you are using Telegram anyway then why not download the Gems app instead. You are supporting crypto, and you lose none of the functions of Telegram and can connect with a telegram users, plus you can earn coins once the airdrop starts. ITs worth knowing that Gems app plans to incorporate other alt coins later so NEM could make a profitable partnership at this early stage.

It's a win win I think.    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.getgemsmessenger.app&hl=en_GB

True, it's a Win, but only if Gem supports IOSx. There are actually quite alot of humans in the Telegram chat with an iPhone or iPad.
Don't shoot the messenger.
