2  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitcoinDial: Make Calls With Bitcoin! on: May 20, 2015, 12:28:15 AM
Just give it a specific number, and hit "Call". It prices it out and gives you an invoice that you can just cancel if that's not what you want.

As for IP logging, since it's hosted on Google App Engine, you should probably assume your IP is recorded in at least 10 places... ;-)

To generate the same P2SH addresses, you have to get the order correct (for each of the 3 keys) and use the right subkey (ie. the expected BIP32 path).

1) Coinkite uses addresses of the form "m/n" where 'n' goes from 1 (IIRC) and counts up for each transaction (or change) in the account.
Previously-used addresses are easily found in the "audit report" which you can generate on the detail page for the account. In fact, the subkey is a column there as well.

2) Sorting of the keys (which happens after they are mapped from BIP32 into normal bitcoin addresses) is lexicographical sort (IIRC) and is compatible with how ms-brainwallet works. You should be able to generate the same keys using that site.

As for Electrum, I haven't tried to get it to interoperate with Coinkite yet.
4  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Ledger + Coinkite! Smart-cards with Multi-Signature for Even More Security on: April 25, 2015, 04:29:41 PM
It's really easy to use: to enroll, just a click and it starts the Chrome App for Ledger Nano, and that exports an xpubkey from the nano.

To co-sign (approve) a multisig transaction, it's just one click again to open Chrome App. Another click on a confirmation screen and you're done.
5  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Dark Wallet Alpha 5 Release - Bitid + Watch only on: September 13, 2014, 05:46:01 PM
Just wanted to announce here that Coinkite is now running an Obelisk server, open to the public.

obelisk.coinkite.com:9091

http://blog.coinkite.com/post/97397052686/public-obelisk-server-for-the-community

I'm not a Dark Wallet user, so I don't know what's involved in configuring it to make use of our server, but we figure more public obelisk servers can't be a bad thing and we want to use it for blockchain data.

I also love a good binary protocol sometimes. Really clears the mind after too much JSON and junky web protocols.
6  Bitcoin / Project Development / [ANN] Coinkite API has launched: Wallet-as-a-Service on: July 15, 2014, 08:10:50 PM
Official Announcement here http://blog.coinkite.com/post/91848147526

Not just another API—Coinkite’s API enables you to build complete crypto-currency systems. Want to move some funds? Of course that’s easy with the Coinkite API. Need to search by public transaction number, link that back to a voucher you made last month? Sure, no problem.

But there’s more, much more: we allow you to remotely control your Coinkite terminals, and make them print receipts with whatever you want on them. Maybe it’s the toppings for a pizza order or your latte’s pre-order with special instructions.

We use the Pubnub platform to send you or your web visitors real-time status updates on pending transactions (via push notification). This allows you to build Bitcoin invoices that respond to being paid: you can unlock the content or provide the digital goods right away, or at least thank your new customer for sending a bitcoin transaction. In fact, all your account activity can be pushed to your browser or server backend if desired. Finally a complete solution to automating payment processing for crypto-currencies without all the hard stuff like hosting super-sensitive P2P clients.

At the end of the day, there are other ways to do many of these things, but the reason many already choose Coinkite, is because of our HSM technology. Your funds on Coinkite are secure and yet fully liquid at the same time. You can send and receive funds immediately, with no limits using the API. Plus, you always have the option of using our simple web interface for admin functions or rarely-used features.

What’s Possible with the API?

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 10, 2014, 04:12:15 AM
Just wanted to raise an idea with the group. I really like BLK as a symbol for BlackCoin, and it could be legitimized fairly easily.

BL is the country code for a small island: Saint Barthélemy

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-2:BL
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Barth%C3%A9lemy

The way the ISO currency codes work, the first two letters are an ISO country code, and the last letter is determined by the country itself.

We have a good precedent in ccTLD's (domain names), where small island nations which were blessed with a useful country code have leveraged their names. I don't think selling ISO currency codes will be nearly as lucrative, but the same principles apply.

Finding the right person or group to speak to would be the first challenge, then the ISO. The island is not presently marketing .bl domain names.

The name Coinkite came from a long session of searching .com for short, memorable stuff.

.. and I did know what cheque kiting was at the time.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Hello from Coinkite on: January 02, 2014, 07:25:26 PM
Hi. I'm Peter, CTO of Coinkite.com.

If you haven't heard of us, we're a web wallet plus a bitcoin/litecoin debit card and point of sale terminal (hardware).

We're also using BIPS 32 HD wallets to solve some of the trust problems inherent in web wallets.

Apparently also the first Litecoin web wallet option online.
