It would make more sense to buy up accounts at a deep discount and never pay out to them. You could reboot the whole scheme if that is what it is.

here, i have another record ip for ltcgear http://107.155.108.112/
website is up and running...

I tried to  go to my account but it just sends you back to the delay message.  Huh

You can log in if you go to http://107.155.108.112/my-account/ and then enter user name and password. After logging in it will take you to the new notice page, but simply enter http://107.155.108.112/my-account/ again and go to your account page. To go to any page see what appears after ltcgear.com/ when you hover your mouse over that and use http://107.155.108.112/whatever-it-said instead to see the old page.
Isn't this the old server?

Yes, the current IP is 167.114.102.178

Not sure if you guys know, but Chris (Beekeeper) got in touch a couple of days ago with the mod at litecointalk.
Basically, the DDOS attacks didn't stop. Fake shares were added to accounts and thus now accounts should be bought. All fake accounts will be closed once and if the site resumes.
The fact that he made contact shows he's not trying to run.
But still, only time will tell.

Not that I do not believe you, because I want to believe you, but who is the source of this information?

Stopping people buying (and so stopping people selling) accounts is a good thing if Chris is getting things sorted out. Chris already tried to do this by preventing the trading of shares, so there is a pattern to the advice, which is promising.

well known on nxtforum

he has issued 4 failed assets in a few months...

https://nxtforum.org/assets-board/(ann)-kongzi-print-shop

i am not sure how their trust system works but it looks like his trust (karma?) is +80/-133 I assume having a bigger negative number then positive number is similar to having negative trust although I may be wrong on this

Yes printshop has 4 assets, however, the 'failed' comment is not accurate yet.

3 assets are mining related and dependent on LTCgear.

Bearmining is a pass-through for LTCgear and has failed if LTCgear has failed, this is yet to be decided.

SafeHash has a guaranteed value in case of failure backed by USDbitfx and similar assets.  This was also dependent on LTCgear and printshop has been buying them back if people want to sell. There was one large (company?) investor in this and they may have wanted to exit their position.
See https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=6474.msg144131#msg144131 for buy back message.

dailytrade also dependent on LTCgear was released last month and printshop has been buying them back if people wanted to sell.
These 3 have only failed if LTCgear has failed, the dependencies were clear to buyers and in the case of the pass-through asset printshop was extremely clear about the risks.

The fourth asset KNS has not failed, in any sense. It has, however, suffered a set back due to loss of income from the other assets.

On the NXT Asset Exchange, Mining assets and their issuers receive negative karma for every delay in payment. Given LTCgears lack of payment it is understandable that printshop's karma would be more negative than positive. If you do not believe this just look at the LTCgear thread and the emotions expressed there (before moderation). This is not the only source of negative karma but I believe it is the largest component.

I expect cassius69 that you provided some of the negative karma, is this correct?

Edited to add refferences

502 Bad Gateway again............

Looks like the same story as before.
We will probably move to another IP when (if) Chris has finished his upgrades and testing.

Going back to the instructions not to use TOR.

The only hackers interested in hacking TOR that I know of, are governments.

Anyone know any different?

The mass changing of the addresses, combined with no lockdown on the accounts point towards a direct database injection (also known as SQL Injection). Chris mentioned that he will be doing some migrating on the website, that of course includes databases migrating. I highly doubt this was malicious database injection and most likely the actuall reason is an error during the migration or some wrong command executed.

Yes the scale of the 'attack' suggests 3 options
1) Hacker using data injection as opper says.

2) Hacker with direct access to the database (data injection does not require direct access). This occurs when one or more of the software stack has been successfully attacked and the hacker can gain full control. Probably inserted control panel code into the admin section of the web site so he/she can do what ever he/she likes when he/she likes until it is removed. Given the software stack has probably not been upgraded for 2 years this is quite a likely scenario.

3) defaulting of the addresses by admin (deliberate or not)

For 1 and 2 Payment has to stop until the hack is removed. If Chris is working from a snap shot of the accounts then he can still payout this week but next week he has to fix the hack.

The hack is quite likely since the hacker has not been paid for his work yet. Lets hope its option 3, though, and its accidental.

not sure if the hacker scenario is plausible.
I have an account I created and never used, it has no share, never received any payment (so totally unknown from the outside), but still the btc address was changed (I had put a btc address) the ltc address which I left blank was left blank after the changed.
(As I didn't access this account last week, the account went into lock down when I logged in. )

So, unless the hacker have accessed to the full database, they wouldn't have any way of knowing and altering this account.
(unless I am mistaken on how they would proceed)
That's why I think it is Chris who reset somehow the accounts.

Thanks for sharing, that is good to know.

On the other hand, changing all the addresses to false ones, is a good way to see which accounts are active and which are not. Active ones get their addresses updated and then get their payouts. Inactive accounts get ignored/ email sent to user to activate (change the address) again. Hacked accounts will not payout to hackers. The hackers, like us, have no idea what is going on.

Now that would be put a positive spin on the whole thing...

HTTPS configuration aside, what would help is some indication of the order of payout.

If we know we are not getting paid for a while we do not have to hang around, hoping.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MineOnCloud.com POOLS 1% FEES on: March 02, 2014, 12:06:46 PM
Having similar problems here.

1) Login returns you to the login screen. If you enter fake details it complains about the account not existing so the code is running in the back end.

2) Contact form does not work.

I had it on automatic payout so maybe some coins will be paid out soon.
Will post if it happens.

ThinkI

Back up and running.
No idea what happened.
Maybe more DOS attacks?

Hi,
I've been mining on the pool long enough to have a couple of hundred coins confirmed but my balance is 0 and although the workers are displayed on the worker tab they are not on the bottom of the Dashboard.
Are you having any problems at the moment?

ThinkI

Not having any problems we are aware of, at maza.cryptoadhd.com, if you still haven't had anything confirm on blocks found while you've been mining then shoot us an email at maza@cryptoadhd.com and we'll take a look at it for you.

Some coins finally showed up. The lack of anything appearing in the unconfirmed section is disturbing however.

One to put on the list for next time around:
MazaCoin, the official currency of the Oglala Lakota Nations. See MazaCoin.org.
Just launched so may be a bit early for this round. I figure there is a need to pay taxes in dollars so an exchange is required, may even be a bounty for it.

Hi everyone!

Our Exchange is running fine now and our Pools also.

We wanna know which Coin with Pool u want to see at CoinEX in future.

For an actual list of our Pools and Coins please look at https://coinex.pw

It dont need to be a "new" coin. We would like to see where is need for a pool or coin to please your needs.

I will add your suggestions to our candidates list and will do research about that.

CaptainFuture, I think you asked the wrong question.
You should have asked:
'which coins do you want to buy?'

I still vote for DevCoin, it is increasingly good for getting things done! The better it is the more you are going to need it.

Hi,

I have said it here before, and I am going to say it again.

You should include DevCoin.

There is a monthly demand for trade from people who earn significant amounts of DevCoin.
Guaranteed demand from a growing community of users (not miners or hard core), who can say more than that.
There's demand from Miners who merge mine DevCoin.
There is also an increasing amount of places that take DevCoin as payment you can even purchase gold and ASIC miners.

Did I mention that DevCoin supports open source development, you guys might be able to earn some today...

You do not have to take my word for the significance of DevCoin though.

Do your own research and you will see that DevCoin is worth listing.

TimeKoin would give you a captive market.
No one else will list it because of the effort to upgrade their tech to something secure...  Wink

I would vote for DevCoin and IXC.
Both are merge mined with BitCoin so there should be a lot of interest!
