Really good idea and great job with the website!

The 3rd of january should be the date like everyone said.

Over that we could try to use only BTC on that day!  Grin

Keep your good work!
1343  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Where do you buy your PCB mounted components from? on: March 23, 2015, 09:14:45 PM
I always use digikey. Are they really pricey?? Never take the time to check somewhere else.  Tongue
1344  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: March 23, 2015, 08:41:35 PM
Yeah I understand that but normally you can run on 240 with lower amp so its better to make it for 120v 15amp so that everyone can use it.  Wink

Dont worry you are lucky and you have 240v
1345  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: March 23, 2015, 06:47:37 PM
In my opinion Home miner is a miner that can run on a normal electricity plug. 120V 15AMP (around that )

With normal sound and heat. Something that you can (almost) plug and forget.

The S5 or the Avalon 4.1 are good example right now. The only problem is S5 sound.

I will be ready to paid a lot more for a good miner with max 1300 watt and quiet.

I prefer more chip ,less watt/gh, quiet and less heat!    Grin

Go Go Go sidehack!
1346  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF3301 Tapeout Complete [Updated 10/3/15] on: March 23, 2015, 05:19:17 PM
I agree, but I'm a bit different. I reviewed the Gridseed Blade and sold it once it was no longer profitable. (Electricity is expensive here) So I sold it to someone who could still make some money off of it.

I guess if you have tons of different miners, it can become a hassle.

I have a bit of a different approach to that though, I would like to see what hardware mods can be done to improve the cooling efficiency. That's where the 3D printing fun stuff comes in.  Cool

3D printing fun stuff ?? What do you mean ??

I like designing and printing a few hardware mods that alter the flow of air throughout the miner. It's a lot of fun.

I myself print some stuff to get better air flow and more.
I will be interested to share all design. Maybe we could check to have a database of 3D stuff for bitcoin  Grin

I will pm you!

Sidehack to help you on the founding, I whilling to run some of these USB for you with pleasure.
When ready, I will host them for free (since I paid a fix price for elect) and test them for you.

Just let me know what would be the shipping price and we could manage something.

We could do something similar as NastyFan and make a community around your design. I will be more than happy to help on that!  Grin

Thanks you grue!  Grin

What is or was the purpose of bootstrap.dat ?

To speed up the download without having to trust the party providing the data.

Thanks  Grin

Hi

I recently did a new setup at home and want to put a nodes on it.
I already have a ubuntu with full bitcoin-qt running on it.
Could someone provide a nice step by step way to make my own bootstrap.dat so I can transfert it to my new server.

Thanks  Grin

A slower alternative (than copying the files) is to add a connect/addnode in the conf of the new node to point to the existing node.  It will then download from your existing node (assuming v0.10).  It's easier to set up but the new node will still verify all data again.  The advantage is that you can probably leave this config up as you probably don't need to make both nodes available externally.  Your new node can just continue to leech of the existing node in future.

Could I will probably do that. But I will also like to have a backup of the blockchain in case something happen and I need to reboot all my setup. Dont want to downlaod 34gb again.  Tongue

The design even features adjustable VCORE. Now I just needs some samples ;-)

Is it BE200 or BM1384 because it is written BM84 on your board ??

1353  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How About This Mining Rig? on: March 23, 2015, 01:51:49 AM
Nice setup but way too much cable everywhere. This is a big non-ptofessional farm.

But nice to see thinks like that!  Grin
1354  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: antminer s6 4500gh/s 1000watts on: March 23, 2015, 01:33:05 AM
That's easy. They're not being used for cooking or drying about 95% of the time. Unplug, replug. Takes an extra 20 seconds.

loll I will like to see your house! Full of miner!  Grin

Philipma1957 propose it many time.

Building a heater :

But using heat from the chip could be really nice. People will use it to mine during winter and then paid less for there heat cost.  Grin

Ok great! So I could only back up all the ./bitcoin folder and erase wallet.dat to start a new nodes.

Right ?
