1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin should NOT determine the market on: June 26, 2018, 06:53:41 AM
I really really love crypto but I think it is not a good thing that the price of BTC determines what the entire market does. I feel like there should be something done that makes the crypto market more decentralized where the price of BTC doesn't swing the market up and down there should be some sort of better system put in place otherwise we are just creating a system that is just the same as the current fiat system we have where the most "trusted/valuable" asset determines the entire market.

Just some thoughts, what do yall think??

Most pairs for altcoins are denominated in either BTC or ETH so it is hard for them two not to control the market as there is no direct liquidity to fiat
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple CEO: Bitcoin Is Controlled by China on: June 13, 2018, 12:10:37 PM
Going according to mining pools this could be true, but apparently also China's banks are loading up on Bitcoin in their reserves (no confirmation on that) Does someone know more on that matter?
3  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Can we 100% trust hardware wallets? on: June 11, 2018, 11:40:54 AM
If the hard wallet is lost, what can be done? This problem cannot be solved.

You have the possibility of restoring your private keys with a list of 25 passwords (ledger nano s)

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How foolish are people who invest in Bitcoin? on: June 06, 2018, 05:19:35 AM
There are a lot of unsophisticated investors in the space, but then a lot of those bought BTC years ago as they saw the potential and believed in it and they are still holding on to their coins
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] imusify - award winning blockchain music platform on: June 06, 2018, 04:56:58 AM
Seems interesting! Why has the project chosen NEO over OTUM or Ethereum? Thanks
7  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: post quantum bitcoin? on: June 06, 2018, 04:47:45 AM
Quantum computing will be a big game changer for POW coins as well as all others and measures will need to be taken. IOTA claims it is resistant to quantum computing attacks which I would doubt. Also, the implementation of privacy coins like monero to maintain its anonymity against quantum computing will be an interesting thing to see.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: GDPR, Data privacy and Bounties on: June 06, 2018, 04:33:58 AM
I think it is about time that we address a serious issue we see with most bounty campaigns.
Privacy!!

All your data is available in a spreadsheet for everyone!! Isn't that a major data breach? Recently I am getting lot of spam mails and also some people impersonate me and join airdrops etc with my e mail address. This is all because our information is publicly available in spreadsheets in almost every bounty we participate.

You might have heard about GDPR - General data protection regulation. It is a regulation that requires businesses to protect the personal data and privacy of EU citizens for transactions that occur within EU member states. So businesses that operated within EU or doing any kind of interactions with EU citizens it is a must to be GDPR compliance and if fail to comply can lead to serious fines. This is currently for EU only. But I hope it will be a thing for every citizen of the world.

So I think it is time now for bounty campaigns to think serious about our data as well. I have only seen very few bounty campaigns where they didn't show the email address in the spreadsheet. I hope many bounty managers will take that initiative in the future.

Fully agree, I am involved in the ICO space and would like to say that more and more projects ask us if they are GDPR compliant and what rules they need to follow, so fortunately there are some projects taking this very seriously for good reason
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Potential coins on: June 04, 2018, 11:03:19 AM
POLY - platform for security tokens (I see big potential there)
AION - 3rd Generation blockchain
ELF - cloud storage solution
Zcash - cause I like it and I think everyone should have one coin in the anonymity space in their portfolio

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance vs Bittrex on: June 04, 2018, 10:51:55 AM
I prefer the coins listed on Binance and that they are not getting randomly delisted like Bittrex but I still trade on Bittrex as they have a full trading API through coinigy which is still my favourite way of trading
11  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: day trading effective? on: June 04, 2018, 09:35:10 AM
questions on day trading cryptos
seems a tricky task
your watching volumes

so i ask for people in this forum who day trade?
effective for profits,
?
i imagine.impossible when whole market red ?
on videos seems to watch the candle charts?
and hold a red and buy asap to a green?
do u recommend. ? if one has the time?

You really need to be good, experienced and lucky. This is nothing for someone who just starts trading, it is better to find a good project and invest in it for the longterm.

15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Will Proof of Work coins die with the latest cost estimate of a 51% attack? on: May 30, 2018, 07:20:36 AM
With the latest developments of Bitcoin Gold and Verge falling victim to the famous 51% attack I would like to share how much it actually costs to take over a specific network (according to this article less than 500$ for $EMC)

Let me know if you think these figures are accurate as I read 1 to 2 billion for BTC.

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum 2k in 2 months? on: May 28, 2018, 08:46:00 AM
I think that is a bit hard especially with the constant market cap of 300 to 400 Bil. We would need some new money in the market and a little less FUD
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can somebody steal your btc? on: May 28, 2018, 05:40:45 AM
The private key represents your proof of ownership, the coins will never be directly on your wallet, they will always be on the blockchain but you have control over them with your private key. If someone steals the private key then they can steal your BTC.
