3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage - Working Beta - Currency has been released on: June 21, 2016, 02:00:37 AM
Will I be able to spend my siafunds with the GUI of 1.0? And will I be able to import my old wallet.dat or wallet.backup?

I am a participant in the genesis account of siafunds. I hope I haven't lost my siafunds forever. But I am not sure. All I have are old wallet.dat's and wallet.backup files.
can anyone answer this?

I was talking to Taek on Slack about this. He said I have to wait until 1.0 and that he thinks my Siafunds are NOT lost. Let's hope the best Smiley

What is the actual problem here? If you have the wallet.dat, then why is there any threat you may have lost your siafunds?

where are the siafunds stored? I thought they were on the sia blockchain

The problem is that the current client does not support the import of these very old wallet.dats from june 2015. Therefore I am not able to sell my siafunds now, although i wanted to. Let's hope that version 1.0 will support the import of these old wallet.dats.

Ok, you're probably not the only one effected by this, so I'm sure Taek will add an import function for legacy wallets eventually.

Where is the market for siafunds anyway? Is it OTC only?

What do you mean? How is stratis connected with BLITZ?

Hi GetVisaCoin,

Chris and Stephan have been part of the Blitz dev team for sometime, working in their spare time around work commitments. During this time Chris designed and developed The Viral Exchange and Fitalize, Stephan has been solely working on The Viral Exchange. They are both still involved with Blitz, which has a very active team and innovative tech. Blitz is one of those coins that has great tech and a solid team, but its not surrounded with hype.

I cannot share any further details at this time, but Blitz will play a role in the Stratis Platform. Their platforms are great tools for driving adoption as we have seen with The Viral Exchange already. More details will be released on this partnership soon.

FYI This information is included in the Bios on the team section.

Regards
Krushang

thank you Krushang, what are Chris and Stephan's forum handles? are they still on Blitz team?

also, where is the ICO info?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where has TPTB_needwar been for a month??? Who is "The Attacker" of DAO? on: June 19, 2016, 02:37:35 AM
TPTB was confident there was a bug in the SOL code, but he didn't take the time to try find it.

Because he is not going to do something that will get his ass thrown in jail.

TPTB doesn't have a vendetta against Ethereum. TPTB motivation is to earn $ in positive ways that help advance CC.

TPTB is not a hacker from the dark side of the world.

good for you sir ... looking forward to your vaporware coin launch
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There was no DAO hack on: June 19, 2016, 02:35:36 AM
The bug on DAO has been known for weeks but no substantial effort has been made in order to fix it that is why the dao attacker was able to have enough time and planning to do the heist. And I do not think this is just a one man team effort, it may compose of some group that has hidden agenda to thwart DAO as they have their own digital currency on their back.

could The DAO creators be sued for negligence, for ...

1- the bug itself
2- publishing it
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: June 19, 2016, 02:32:44 AM
It amazes me that people are still viewing the price in terms of fiat.... Why would you dream about "cashing out" big time to go back to such a broken currency such as the USD and other fiat? This currency allows us to never have to deal with fiat again and can be ensured it is secure and private.

Thing is as long as your merchant around the corner does not accept you monero payment people will have to use Fiat. Any CC that achieves this will be truely mass adopted.

I would love to live without fiat currency, but how? e.g. I want to buy a house, how can I do that with XMR or bitcoin? I think maybe there are a few hundred properties worldwide I can pay for using bitcoins, but I don't know anyway to pay for a large purchase like a house in my town without using fiat. If someone knows a (private) way let me know, then I'll never think of fiat valuations ever again
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING NEWS: DAO Attacker Identified!! on: June 19, 2016, 02:27:25 AM
Apparently the DAO attacker has now been identified and he is attempting to plea bargain out of criminal proceedings.

More updates to follow.

More detail please ...

 Shocked

Whats happening with Coinomat?....how much focus/your time, will you be giving Coinomat, and now Waves?
I will be focusing on Waves of course. I've been approached by several people interested in buying the project, talking to them now.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [IOTA] IOTA Speculation on: June 13, 2016, 09:00:00 AM
I am happy to donate 5% to the foundation before the trade if the buyer prefers, if they want they can donate after also, that would be their choice. The rate (20x before, 25x after) would be the same either way.

My 1% has been sold, hoping CfB can do escrow with the buyers bitcoins before the network is ready to use again..
I have a hunch that BigIotaBig was one of the buyers.  Wink

The buyer can reveal themselves if they wish, CfB will know their identity from the escrow, but I will respect their privacy. The buyer has also opted to decide the amount of any donation to the foundation, so I will transfer the full 1%.

The buyer withdrew their offer, so my 1% is available again.

Also, CfB apparently isn't doing escrow anymore, so any buyer needs to be aware that we'll need to find one.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: June 12, 2016, 11:03:54 AM
Let me try and explain things a little better as perhaps some of my personal disappointments in these past few years tend to impact upon my posts (once you've been hounded like I have been you might also become a little bitter).

Typically software developers that work for commercial software companies (and I was such a developer for many years) are kept insulated from the financial side of said companies and even generally from the clients (I rarely ever took a support call in over 15 years of such professional work and didn't even have much email correspondence with any "end users").

As the average software developer is more of an introvert they tend to work best kept in small teams with others similar to themselves (and this is the environment they mostly prefer to be working in and the model that most successful software development companies use).

The open source movement has a bit of a different dynamic but it isn't even nearly as confused with funding dynamics as projects in this particular field have become (where investment/crowdfunding/ICO's and developers/salespeople/scammers have all become a bit of a blur).

Basically this has resulted in (genuine) developers being forced into an uncomfortable (for them) "spotlight" that includes direct contact with people who often don't even understand software development at all (but are always happy to criticise).

I used to think that the idea of having less layers was a good thing but when it comes to software development itself now I am not so sure at all (as the team of relatively unknown devs that are well looked after and insulated from the outside works better IMO).

So for a way "forward" I would suggest that devs should be managed by a development management team (maybe just one or two people can do that) whose job it is to keep the devs insulated from the outside (so they can do productive development work without the unwanted attention and pressure).

Thanks for this post CIYAM! Many in the crypto community don't know or consider this aspect of crypto, they're just here for the trading game, and forget that the whole point of this is making software. I fear without a community manager to hold things together and lubricate communication & funding channels we're in danger of killing the proverbial goose that lays the golden egg. In retrospect the community should have tried harder to encourage the original Qora dev to appoint a community manager before he burnt out. We shouldn't make the same mistake twice!!!
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: June 12, 2016, 10:56:34 AM

^ What are we waiting for - let's appoint Crow as family development manager. Crow's attitude in this matter is beautiful and the invitation is open!!

+1
crowetic has what Qora needs, and what might keep CIYAM in the community. Let's do it!!

Thanks everyone, after the CF I did to give vbcs some payment for his work, he joined into our team's chat, and we've been in communication. I'll stay in communication with him, and I'll stay active here.

I am here for QORA, and as soon as we get the next few public things we're planning with BURST done, I'll focus more on this side of things.

I truly appreciate the vote of confidence! Let me know if you need anything, and as soon as I can get communications continued with vbcs, I'll talk with him and see how things go.

I'm here for you, QORA community, let's do this!

Good community management is what Qora needs the most, and some solid funding to pay devs, so well done crowetic Smiley

I want 25X if the trade happens after the foundation gets funded, but 20X if the deal happens before that is known. Escrow through CfB if he agrees.

If it's the sale of the whole account in the snapshot and the iotas weren't claimed then I can do that within next 72 hours.

Thanks CfB, but I have more than 1%, and I want to keep some IOTA still, so we would need to split the account, I hope that is possible.

A few people have asked for exact valuation numbers, my calculations are as follows:

ICO funds raised
930.96 btc
Jinn 41297 * 0.0063 = 260.1711 btc

total bitcoins = 930.96 + 260.1711 = 1191.1311

1% = 11.911311 btc

If I have made an error we will adjust figures

I am happy to donate 5% to the foundation before the trade if the buyer prefers, if they want they can donate after also, that would be their choice. The rate (20x before, 25x after) would be the same either way.

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [IOTA] IOTA Speculation on: June 09, 2016, 12:15:23 PM

To be clear, you're selling 1% of iota for approximately 238.22622 btc (11.911311 x 20) before launch or 297.782775  btc (11.911311 x 25) after launch and you're donating 5% to the foundation prior to the sale.

Is this correct?

Yes. I'll probably round those numbers up to 240 btc & 300 btc

My offer is still available. If CfB agrees we could split my genesis account before the launch if that was preferable.

My offer to sell 1% is still active. Unfortunately I can't split my seed account now, but any trade will use trusted escrow.

I will donate 5% of my seed account prior to any trade, then my price will be 20x before launch and foundation funding achieved, or 25x after.
