I think most of the chips are already assembled on the boards and are being tested through ( just the boards , without anything ).

http://ecointalk.net/gallery/image/366-20140513-013222-resize/ (See at the background , boards already have chips on them and are being tested one by one )

As for the power consumption is concerned , I don't think so they will be improving that for the first batch , they might do that with future batches and might consume less power .

I think installing boards onto the cases and assembling everything else is going to take a lot of time and man power . I hope they are done with already . The shipping must start now .

The only thing that needs additional adoption is merchants offering sending the Transactions for their customers. If this gets traction, you can just pay without having to carry around your own Internet capable device.

What batch is order #36** ?
I actually forgot about placing order for 2 x Prospero X-3's . I today read all the updates and i amazed that they will be shipping an extra X-3 with each order .

I am just wondering , am I in Batch - 1 ?
I placed order for these through my Taiwanese friends .

After reading the update , I instantly ordered 2 extra PSU's for my free X-3's .
But , now i wonder , weather im in batch 1 or not ?

Just read this somewhere :-

'' Editor's notes

My understanding is that you need a mobile phone or computer to transmit the transactions besides hardbit that itself can't connect to the internet for security reasons. It only signs transactions and these transactions with a QR code. The merchant's internet connected computer will broadcast the transaction. This is a novel idea, but requires the merchants to have this ability in their software.

It's not clear how backups are done. Since the device has no internet connection we can be sure it's not backed up to a cloud. It's unlikely that the company can steal your coins. ''

Dude are you even serious ?
There are multiple pictures already for this device .
I would not take it as a scam attempt at all .
It might be just another Android device , for sure , but it works.

And the guy who owns this HardBit , Has been developing the code since long back .

I'm damn sure there will be a simple solution to make the payment . Its just not written on their website or stuff .
I'll be receiving them soon .
Will let you know .

Because Hardbit can work offline, so it can act like bank cards for payment in shops. It enables immediate confirmation because double spending is avoided by changing the transaction broadcaster  from payer to payee.

can?

why use the word can..

shouldnt it be wrote like:

Its basically Chinese guys trying English . So , these '' can '' errors are acceptable .
Hopefully , It actually does work offline .

A Bitcoin transaction operated on Hardbit only needs 3 steps: scan the payment request, input password, show your transaction QR to receiver. This is not complex compared to software wallet on smartphone, and is more convienent compared to software wallets on computers.

Wait how does the device get the outputs that are used as input? On the website it says the device is never connected to the internet so how does it get the blockchain or the SPV information?

You need a smart phone with internet to complete the transaction from HardBit .

Do you have any sources for that and is there another option (live feeding it SPV information before you leave home or something like that?). I really have to interest in carrying a tracking device all the time.
Where can I get more information about hardbit?

http://www.dcmagnates.com/physical-bitcoin-wallet-hardbit-launched-in-china-rest-of-the-world-to-follow/

Read where it says :-

'' The device doesn’t have the ability to connect to the internet, meaning another device, e.g. a smartphone will be needed to complete the transaction. ''

I don't know how much of that is true and how it works .
I will be receiving mine very soon , within 3-4 days .

Ill post everything .

But theres ways around the requirement for another device if you can sync is like an SPV client before leaving our home. This should be implemented asap since it can remove the requirement of an additional device.

I think if the receiver has internet , the hardbit wallet does not require any connection .
Basically , you scan the payment QR to pay , you put you password to proceed and then you get a QR code , which the receiver then scans to receive the amount hardbit have sent .
I don't know how's that possible but it says :-

'' Hardbit only needs 3 steps: scan the payment request, input password, show your transaction QR to receiver. ''

Also , i think offline payment can also be done .

'' Because Hardbit can work offline, so it can act like bank cards for payment in shops. It enables immediate confirmation because double spending is avoided by changing the transaction broadcaster  from payer to payee. '' .

Its confusing , but it seems , HardBit is a solo unit and will work without any thing else .
The main purpose of HardBit wallet is to eliminate the automatic connection to various channels like internet , wifi , NFC , which leaks the private key . HardBit has no such channels .

I still wonder , how will eventually submit the transaction through a smartphone with internet .

Maybe , it creates a part - private key for the exact amount to be sent , and the receiver the scans that private key and import the amount . If this is the case , then its super cool , as you don't need internet at all to send the payment .

I just ordered 4 of them .
Payment was accepted and got a mail from them that they will be shipped on Monday .

Will post the unboxing here .

There is not much info on hardbit.cn . I mean no technical data and stuff .
But i hope its open source , or it will be hard to trust them .

Also , open source will help us install some cool wallpapers and BTC receiving and sending sounds , I guess !!

It , looked good , could not resist myself , so ordered 4 of the .
Hope they turn out good .

I paid for 2 plastic Trezors in Sep. last year , have received nothing , and they have asked for 12 more weeks .
And those were 1 BTC each , these are damn cheap with cool display and rugid body .

Though , i wonder , how's its battery life .

Ya man , all my boards are working now . Ubuntu box rocks !!
All 5 of the are running perfectly , though not on same machine .
I am now using 2 ubuntu machines and have divided the boards to them .

I run 10 plastic injection moulding machines for zipper manufacturing . I am located in India , i ordered multiple moulds from China .
I received my final mould in 4 weeks and the production started in 1 day from those moulds .

I can't believe Trezor team have not even received their moulds yet . Its shocking . If they can provide me the mould design , i can provide them the finish cases in 5 weeks and in multiple color themes as well .

I can print 40 trezor plastic cases in 10 seconds .

Can't wait for the final specs. of the sat and station .
Glad , i could be part of it .

It will turn out to be a very amazing public initiative .
I can imagine a lot of these BitSats in a few years , already .

This project has a potential to eliminate the only barrier , which can disturb Bitcoin in future , i.e- Network Providers .

So basically , My PC running Ubuntu is not able to run 5 boards all together .
I installed the 1 board which was not working earlier to another PC with windows , and it seemed to run , but that PC is too old and got shut off after 2 hours .

Yea Bar , you are right , each board seems to have different clock speed at which they work best .
I am trying to figure those out .
I read somewhere today that the best clock is 612 for some reason .
Ill try that again tomorrow .

I don't seem to understand a thing , that earlier also when i was using windows , 3 of my 5 boards showed '' ZOMBIE '' .
But when i switched to Ubuntu , 4 of the 5 boards were working .
Now , again the remaining board seems to work on a separate PC with windows .

Therefore , all of my 5 boards work , but somehow not all together .

Can someone sort this issue , cause its pointless to run 2 PC's , and 1 just for 1 board .
I would prefer to run all 5 on a single PC .

ey up
Ken, did any of the VMC products got shipped out outside US? or maybe an EU customer care to share his experience?

I got my boards delivered to India . Reached here in perfect condition . Took about 4 days to arrive here .
Probably should just take 2 days to reach EU . After product being shipped .

Guys , so finally after reconnecting everything , 4 of my 5 prospector boards are working perfectly .
I've clocked them at 720 , all 4 of them .
I don't know what frequency they running at , i'll check them soon an will post it here .
Somehow , my remote management is not working and i will be going to my DC soon to fix it .
Ill note down the frequency they are working at .

http://postimg.org/image/mm67a923p/

I'm guessing your power supplies were too small?

No my PSU's were fine , I am using Corsair RM650 .
I was connecting all of them through cgminer on Windows 7 .
I installed Ubuntu on my desktop and then connected all boards , 4 of the working .
There was some issue on windows i guess .

My 1 card is showing ZOMBIE no matter what i do .
I've tried everything , reconnected everything again , still nothing .
I am going to give it one more try today , if still nothing , Ill ask ken if he can replace it or maybe send me Gold Rush instead .

Hey just got back from being out of town since last Monday,

I had Zombie errors too with my boards, I think it might be related to the board not getting enough power but cannot confirm because my issue kind of disappeared by itself, now I only get Zombie if one of the PSUs are not on.

To troubleshoot the boards only connect one at a time and see if they load up.

I just under clocked them again at 500 . Both my working boards are giving approx 600GH/s on cgminer .
My other 2 boards still don't seem to work .

I'll reconnect them again tomorrow after rechecking the power wiring again .

On CgMiner , It also said something '' Thermal overload tripped ! '' .
It sometimes accepts a share or two , then again goes to ''Zombie'' .

The temperature never rises on the Zombie Board , it remains at 17C then goes to Zombie .

Never ran into that,

Maybe the water cooler isn't correct set or it could even be too tight which is known to cause issue.

Ya maybe , Ill reconnect everything 2mro .
I hope they work .
