1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is it so hard to get family/friends into bitcoin? on: April 01, 2014, 09:06:31 PM
I've found it pretty tough.  People just make up their minds to hate it.  I could only convince one of my friends to actually buy some, and he was in it for the gambling haha.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bye Bye Bitcoin..... Really??? on: March 30, 2014, 08:35:45 PM
I bought in at 550 (back in december) then 815 then 915 then 700 then 630.. then I foolishly sold some when the GOX news was released right around 500, then bought back about 600, just bought a little more at 455 now.

Holding for long term.  I learned my lesson trying to play the market.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC may never be this cheap again on: March 30, 2014, 08:14:42 PM
Nobody knows.. I see all sorts of opinions on twitter.  A lot of people think it will go lower before it rebounds but no way to really tell.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The wikipedia entry for "Bitcoin" is so bearish... on: March 30, 2014, 01:12:14 AM
If wikipedia officially starts accepting bitcoin donations, the perception will change.

We're in for a wild ride and nobody knows for sure what will happen, but that's part of the appeal.

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ok, let China ban bitcoin, we do NOT need them. on: March 29, 2014, 10:26:30 PM
With or without China, bitcoin will survive... but having them around sure helps the price sometimes.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt Coin Newbie.. Most Trusted Exchange? on: March 25, 2014, 12:56:03 AM
Okay, maybe I'll go with Crypsty.  She said she had two factor auth on but that somehow someone had gotten in and emptied all her coins.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt Coin Newbie.. Most Trusted Exchange? on: March 25, 2014, 12:48:56 AM
Well I guess I got nervous when The Bitcoin Wife said she lost tens of thousands of dollars worth of alts on Cryptsy.  How have your experiences with it been?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Alt Coin Newbie.. Most Trusted Exchange? on: March 25, 2014, 12:35:13 AM
Hi everyone, looking to buy some alt coins.  I'm interested in VTC,PPC, and LTC.  Is there a trusted exchange other than cryptsy where I could accomplish this.  Also, am looking for something easy and user friendly.  I'd rather take a risk and leave my coins in a trusted exchange than manage them all in separate wallets.  Thanks for the feedback in advance!
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I gave a presentation on Bitcoin yesterday on: March 15, 2014, 09:42:37 PM
Enjoyed the video, good work kid!  Bitcoin education is one person at a time! Or in this case, a class.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Holding Bitcoin, what other coin should I buy and hold? on: March 15, 2014, 09:26:51 PM
Right now I only am invested in bitcoin and am not looking to day trade alt coins.  However, I think it would be good to diversify.  I've been told Litecoin, Peercoin, and Vertcoin would be good options to buy and hold.  Any other opinions on this?
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Bitcoin Has Taught Us About Human Nature on: March 15, 2014, 09:18:56 PM
Let's not jump to conclusions, it just shows us that some people take time to recognize innovative new technology that is disruptive can actually change the status quo for the better.
