2  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: help!!! pls on: March 26, 2013, 04:37:59 PM
I think I've changed the power options but it has not changed anything.

My mining still converts from Mhash to Khash which the khash isn't generating.

Please someone help or direct me to someone that will help me get this working.

Thank you

Check your power settings in the control panel.  Your system is probably set up to power down some component after 20 mins.

You shouldn't need any flag in that program - I use it with default settings with my 7970 just fine.

I apologize for my ignorance but could you tell me how?
4  Bitcoin / Mining support / help!!! pls on: March 25, 2013, 04:29:52 PM
1.  I down loaded

Download latest version (Windows):
  guiminer-20121203.exe (self-extracting archive)

NP the programs seems to be working.

2.  My Video card is a XFX black edition 7970
MSI afterburner only allows me to modify Fan speed
AMD Catalyst seems to work fine.

I've tried various flags.
I believe I'm using phatk2.  I do not know for sure.
Nor do I know how to tell.

3.  The problem is my GUI miner seems to work fine for about 20 mins then goes from 500+Mhash down to Khash.  Yet once it drops I don't seem to be generating nothing.  Like the system is still running my miner but I have 0 GPU activity at that point.  If I cklick stop mining then start again everything is fine for another 20 mins.  Problem does not seem to be in my flags.  I think it's a program issue of some type.

I have a very basic system other than the video card and 950W Power supply.
Running Windows 7

Can someone help me so I can get this figured out.  I have been all over the forum trying to find answers and I have been trying different flags for the last 2 day's.  However, same thing does not matter what flag I use I get the same results the miner continues but the GPU activity stops.

BTW If you send me a personal message I will be able to read it but not sure if I can respond because I may not have enough posts.

Thanks to anyone that will help.  BTW I don't have much but I can try to donate some amount of BC

6  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Install more Cards on Windwos 7 on: June 28, 2011, 03:53:04 AM
If you're in vista or 7, right click the desktop and hit personalize, then go into display settings, and enable extended monitors. 1 per card if I remember right.

If you right click on my computer, hit manage, and go to device manager, does it show all of the cards under display adapters?

Alright, I'm running windows 7, this does not work for me and yes device manager shows all my video cards.  I'm running 4 cards on one system.

I can get a card to show up if I physically plug a monitor into it, but the dummy plugs are not working they doe not see a monitor so I can use my video cards for mining.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Explain why you think if everyone held it would devalue the bitcoin?

My reasoning in suggesting more people should hold is basic economics theory.

Price and Demand, the lower available coins or sells should cause an increase in price because their will be a higher demand as value increases.

In addition should attract more goods and service companies because bitcoin will show more stability.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Here's and Idea on: June 23, 2011, 06:24:25 PM
I know this might not be the best place for this post but I'm still under my 50 posts so here it is and if you see this as good plan please pass the word around.

1.  New miners it's not really in your best interest to buy a new system for dedicated mining with the continued decrease in value of each bitcoin and the continued decrease in bitcoin value it's killing the ability to make it worth while, so lets find a way to stop the bleeding.  So this is to all the miners out there, if you want to get the most out of your money convince new and old miners to hold onto their bitcoin and stop selling.  Sell only the coins you need for survival not to recoup costs.  Think about it if everyone holds their coins we can get the price back up and you all can recoup your costs much faster.

2.  To everyone, lets stop the bleeding, think about it.  One reason this bitcoin was designed is because major currencies all over the world are going to shit.  So essentially if your selling your bitcoin to hold onto American dollars your actually screwing your self in several way's the dollar keeps falling while the Yen continues to sore against the dollar.  Inflation in the U.S is increasing rapidly above the cost of living increases people are getting from their jobs.  Yet, as the U.S bleeding continues the people on Social Security did not receive a cost of living increase OUCH.  Also, how can we get employers, sellers of goods etc interested in accepting bitcoin with it being so unstable in value.

3.  Lets make the bitcoin attractive again, everyone if you can stop selling.  Only sell if you must.  Remember the bitcoin seen $30.00+USD it can again if people think about it and stop the bleeding and get back to the reason the bitcoin was created.  It was created for several reasons, 1.  help stop the bleeding and give some people some security in holding something worth value instead of something that is going to take them to the poor house or force them to continue working the rest of their lives.  2.  I believe the designers was also trying to make the next paypal which was a good idea, in addition give the sender/receiver some security or identity protection.  which is very popular amongst some very wealthy people.

4.  How can we make bitcoin attractive to goods and service providers with an unstable market.  We can't, so to you the people/bitcoin owners if we want bitcoin to grow lets help make it attractive by reestablishing the market.  Remember it hit $30+USD and it could actually go way above that remember there is 7 decimals behind the 0.  1.0000000.  Only way we can stabilize and make the bitcoin attractive to goods and service providers is stabilize the market.  This can not be done with just 10-20 individuals we need to do this as a whole.  Lets stop selling every time you get some coins and start getting the market back on the up trend.  Also, do everything you can to protect you wallet.  Stop giving the scammers a money maker.  You should of seen that coming.  Also, if you let this situation we had where scammers got a hold of your coin and sold off control the market your also giving the Governments a way to destroy bitcoin.  Is that what we want.  Think about it, all the governments need to do is higher some hackers and then sell off the bitcoin they won't tell us that's what their doing but they'll do it if they see that's a way to destroy bitcoin.  Don't be nieave they will do anything they possible can to stay in power and as I say give the power back to the people.  We are the people so do what you can to protect your bitcoin,  Do what you can to stop the bleeding pass it around stop selling.  Lets get the market more stable.  People whom are treating this as a buying and selling opportunity well good for you.  Miners that are selling every coin your generating your only hurting us and yourself because your never going to get your money out of the system you paid to build at that rate because it's you who is forcing the market in a down trend and turning around and your giving money away because if you start holding your going to drive the market back up.  Think about it.  The more people are less likely to sell the more the value each bitcoin becomes.  In addition, the more attractive it becomes to goods and service providers.

5.  Well I guess I'm going to stop here, I believe I've made some good points.

Summary for those that hate to read all the BS
1.  Encourage others to stop selling there bitcoin and the following should happen.
A.  The market should stabilize and continue with it's uptrend.
B.  You'll actually get your money back if you bought a mining computer much faster.
C.  We as a group can still become very rich even if you hold just 1000 coins and wait to sell when the market hits $100 or more.
D.  Once stable it should attract more goods and service providers.
If your mining only because it's a way to make some money your never going to get your money back if you keep selling every week.  In addition, you don't get it.  So just get out.  Your killing everyone else's ability that does get it.
Don't give the government a way to destroy bitcoin.
Protect your money and your bitcoin find new ways to secure your PC and BC wallet.

Good luck to you all.

That's the problem I cant find any applications folders on my computer.

That's why I was asking for help.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need Deepbit admin help ASAP PLS on: June 20, 2011, 10:26:09 PM
Alright, I think I found a problem with my bitcoin client but need help.

Running Win 7
Bit coin is installed in c:program files (x86)\bitcoin

It seems my generating could be providing me a false number of connections because I'm mining on the same computer.

I can not find the applications folder that someone suggested to do the following.

If your client is having trouble downloading the blocks
Close your client, open terminal and run these commands

Code:
cd /Applications/

Code:
Bitcoin.app/contents/macos/bitcoin -addnode=69.164.218.197 -addnode=64.22.103.150 -addnode=173.242.112.53 -addnode=178.79.147.99 -addnode=184.106.111.41 -addnode=91.85.220.84 -addnode=173.224.125.222 -addnode=

Can anyone provide me with instructions how to do this in WIN 7.  This might fix my false connections issue.

Shawn

I'm going to try and shorten this take out what is good.

1.  Resolved I'm running correct bitcoin version 3.23

2.  What is the latest version of Phoenix miner?  (I'm running 1.47)
Version 1.50:  http://svn3.xp-dev.com/svn/phoenix-miner/files/
This link isn't working for me and I can't find it on the Wiki http://www.bitcoin.org I know jedi the designer but sometimes he's very slow responding to my emails, so if someone has a good valid, safe link would be nice.

2a removed

3.  How do I know I'm connected to the bitcoin network?
Bitcoin is not firewalled, I'm generating, only 1-2 connections, but my blocks do not change?
You know you're connected, because you have connections.  If you don't have any connections, you're not connected.  You really should have more than 2, not sure why that's all you're seeing, could be a firewall issue, check here:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/FAQ#Do_I_need_to_configure_my_firewall_to_run_bitcoin?
This is all gargon to me, I'm running win 7 which is new to me over the last month.  Can't figure out how and if bitcoin is being blocked.  I can tell you I hit allow bitcoin when it gave me the option after I loaded it.  Confirming if my IP is blocking on the sending side could be the issue.  A little more basic explanation would be nice if possible.

4.  How long does it take the addnode to catch up on blocks?
    A.  How do I know the addnode thing is working?
It can take several hours to get the entire blockchain.  You should fire up your client and then go to bed, in the morning you should hopefully have the entire blockchain downloaded.
Did this and it did not help, my bitcoin screen is sitting on 1000 blocks and not changing.  I know that wallet has a lot more blocks but it's not changing.  I do have the same wallet on 2 computers and both those computers are actively mining 24/7.

5.  Why can't I get my BC client to receive coins without doing addnodes or something else?
Not sure.  However, in order to "receive" coins, you have to have downloaded the block from the blockchain that includes your transaction.  This is only necessary to actually see a balance in your client.  You can receive coins to an address without being online or having the client running, but to use the coins received, you'll need to have a client that has access to your wallet.dat.
Yes, I figured that from reading everything I have read, however, it still does not resolve the matter that it seems my blockchain is not being generated.  Why I don't know, can't figure it out.  My addnode has been running for over 24 hours and my blockchain has not loaded on my computer.  Yes I know I'm useing the right wallet.dat because it has the same receiving addresses as my original bitcoin file which held my balance.
Here if it helps I'm running my addnode
via cmd CTRL+Shift+Enter
gives me c:windows\system32
I type cd..
cd..
Gives me C:
I type cd\program files (x86)
cd bitcoin
Gives me C:program files (x86)bitcoin>
now the addnode I'm using is:   bitcoin.exe -addnode=69.164.218.197 -addnode=64.22.103.150 -addnode=173.242.112.53 -addnode=178.79.147.99 -addnode=184.106.111.41 -addnode=91.85.220.84 -addnode=173.224.125.222 -addnode=86.5.50.90 -addnode=178.255.199.86 -addnode=127.0.0.1 -addnode=192.168.1.8 -addnode=192.168.1.5 -addnode=192.168.1.1
My computer just goes back to showing c:program files (x86)\bitoin> after hitting enter on last line of addnode

6.  How come on one computer I see Generat bitcoin option but on other computers I don't have that option?
The ability to Generate Bitcoin was removed from the later versions of the client.  I'm assuming not all of your computers are running the latest version of the client.
Weird but ok, reason it's odd is because both computers were built in the last month.

New ?6A:  So how do I update my bitcoin version on other system without losing my wallet or coin?  If I'm not connected I don't want to send it out and still lose the coin.  I heard or read somewhere this happened to someone.

7.  How do I know I have my computer on the right port?
Not sure what you mean about your computer being on the right port.
Most of your questions can be answered here:  https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/FAQ
I can't find crap on this wiki as for information I'm looking for not even in the FAQ,  Yet port I'm referring to is when hitting option in bitcoin you have IP proxy and port: Huh?,  That is what I meant by correct port.

Note: how is bitcoin interest supposed to peak if people such as myself are having all these issues.  I know as bitcoin builds popularity I won't be the only one with this issue.  There's got to be other people whom are ignorant on this matter.

No Luck,  I think I'm the unluckiest person right now.

I have 51.19 BC in limbo floating around space with superman and I guess he gets it before me.

What if I try reloading BC and the old Wallet File.  Will that help?
