Startups focused on cryptocurrency and blockchain – which are different kinds of digital cash and the platform that allows this cash to be exchanged -- are enormously hot right now. Investments in these companies nearly doubled in 2017 compared to the previous year and have only been increasing in 2018. In late May, Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, announced it was launching a $1 billion venture fund for blockchain and cryptocurrency startups. For all the excitement surrounding this promising technology, the industry confronts an obstacle that is common to many emerging technologies – very few people have a strong grasp of what blockchain and cryptocurrency actually are. Executives who are approached to work for these startups have usually heard of Bitcoin, the most well-known cryptocurrency, and they may vaguely know blockchain has something to do with securing digital currency. However, they often have a fleeting grasp of the nuances and possibilities of this dynamic industry. Their haziness and lack of knowledge can be a formidable challenge to startups that want to land key talent in a competitive hiring market. Blockchain and cryptocurrency companies can take a lesson from the past , using the model that was employed by the electric vehicle (EV) industry a decade ago. I don't see any other options currently - that is not to say something might not come in time but, for the time being, things will likely stay as they are

Was just wondering people's thoughts about the current news on bitcoin donations to colleges? Should they be more grateful or are their inability to deal with them valid?

I know that the Netherlands are well on their way to becoming one of the most forward countries when it comes to crypto - don't forget them!
Apparently the Netherlands is one country that does not want to miss the sophistication of Bitcoin technology. I am sure the Netherlands will be one of the countries that are advanced and ready to serve the complaints of people in meeting their needs. I'm glad someone mentioned the Netherlands here, they are definitely another country to be added to list. Also Belgium - just to begin with, they have so many bitcoin ATM's it's insane.

When you think you're hungry, always drink a glass of water first. Then, wait 10 minutes. If you are still hungry, then eat. And always drink a glass of water before you eat a meal - you won't eat do much!

I was reading an article in Quartz earlier today and it was talking about how much bitcoin people should buy and how it depends on your investing goals. What else, besides the amount of money you have, affects how much bitcoin someone should buy?

Although not everyone agrees, bitcoin has created beneficial situations in lots of arenas (IT included). In saying that, in the future it will likely bring its own set of problems (e.g. illegal trade etc)

Online shopping is efficient and effective HOWEVER, you do not get to hold the items in your hand/see them in person before you buy. If you are a real visual person, online shopping won't work for you, however if you are short for time, it is perfect (and can be slightly addictive if you find a website you like!)

It is my belief that the majority of bitcoin users are males. Females, please prove me wrong through the poll.
Moving on, assuming that my belief is correct, the question is how we get them on board?
In two words: less mysogyny. I definitely agree with this - maybe a forum dedicated to women only is a good starting point? (I'm not sure, just a suggestion)

Don't make the discussion in the wrong way if some bank considered bitcoin as not legal tender in their country it doesn't means that it is illegal their the legality will be announced by the governments not the banks so it is more or like warning to their citizen that all.
Agreed - this is a warning, not making something illegal

If you own Bitcoin and still think it's wise to entrust people with it, then you've not properly understood just what it is you've come into.
It's something we'll be seeing a whole lot more with how people don't understand the basic principles of why Bitcoin even exists. Mainstream adoption is praised by many, but it's working against decentralization. If you ask them what Bitcoin is, they'll tell you it's a currency for payments. If you then ask them what benefits there are to it, they don't know what there is to answer. They only care about their gains, everything else is not of importance. BitConnect is the perfect example of that. It shocked me how after that platform went down videos popped up from people telling how they invested their life savings and lost it all a couple of months later. It's their fault for sure. It was a desperate attempt to obtain a better life, and they failed miserably. This is perfectly said - thank you

I am new to crypto currency and I don't know the Bitcoin is legal or not plse help me
Bitcoin is a digital decentralized currency,in the sense that no government nor Central Bank has any control of its price nor value, and there abounds no regulations whatsoever in the system... Due to the absence of regulations and it's pseudo-anonymity,its viewed as a scam by most people and nations alike, hence some nations have placed a permanent ban on the currency and stopped every cryptocurrency related activities within their shores. Other reasons abounds why nations are trying to crack down on the system, as its viewed as a direct threat to Fiat and it's safe, secure, transparent and quick transactions is much more attractive, hence most governments do not want such competition with their national currencies.. Bitcoin definitely is purely Legal ,but due to the aforementioned reasons you'll do well to confirm if it's legal in your Locale ,you could surf the internet for that information ,as I'm not privy to it,i can't really tell you if it is Legal over where you are.. Despite the fact that it's legal, the system is also used for fraudulent activities by scammers so you'll have to be careful on it, Make sure you keep you private keys "private" Store investments in reliable exchanges(Beware of fake exchanges) Beware of phishing SCAM Always use a reliable bitcoin wallet(Hard wallet) This is a very good response, listen to this!
