Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MNTA]Moneta * RomanCoin Rehab* Trade in NOW! LISTED ON POLO!!!

Surprised by a number of things with MNTA. I have a transaction that is *still* pending after 10 months going into Poloniex. Not bothered by that as I have given up ages ago. I am surprised that Poloniex have not stop trading in MNTA with the wallet not working for such a long time now. At the moment, not surprising deposits and withdrawals are "temporarily disabled". Other exchanges would have terminated trading on inaccessible altcoin wallets for a significantly less period of time. I am also a bit surprised that there is some albeit light activity on MNTA-XMR on Poloniex. Considering I see no direction/vision for the coin at all. Remember this coin has nothing to do with the moneta/zerocoin protocol thing that kicked off last year. This coin would appear to absolutely pointless and worthless now. So any trading activity on Poloniex seems very suspicious IMHO.

Other / Off-topic / New words for the Oxford English Dictionary
|

Hey there, I believe "bitcoin" is in the English Dictionary and "litecoin" could be added soon.
Any other words that could be added?
For example, I see a lot of reference to "shitcoin" or "scamcoin" i.e. coins of little value that are created to entice people to buy in high whilst the creators sell low.
Can people throw other words that could be candidates for the English Dictionary?

Thanks for all the words, I have naturally been busy (well recovering if my last long run before the Marathon. It will be on the BBC. I am planning to run in a tiger onesie.
The ideas for the shirt are great, I'm going to try to sort something out over the weekend w.r.t. the t-shirt.
I've not heard of activecoin myself, I'll have a look.
Many thanks

Hi there, Anyone running the London Marathon in 2 weeks time on April 13? Anyhow I am running for charity, British Thyroid Foundation and my justgiving page is http://www.justgiving.com/ben-lam-hang. I have created a wallet address for donating BTC (19RbtQNg87W1Ajk7spDYTXQMjWsjgSvydY) and hopefully I don't come across as begging would like anyone to donate any amount for a good cause. After the marathon, I will exchange any BTC into pounds and add it on my justgiving page. Cheers

Many thanks for responses and they are all useful to try and play with. It appears opening one side case and putting a fan on medium speed seems to do the trick (I should try low speed) and am running at 72C and 76C now.
I was hoping for a solution where I can keep everything enclosed. The Lian Li case has a fan at the back and what appears to be a front cooling kit in the front at that the bottom but not other fans embedded into the case. The 4x 5.25 bays in the front are not used.
I was wondering if something like another a front cooling kit can be placed in the 4 bays at the top of the front of the case (however lian li have discontinued this kit?) What additional fans could I put in and where?

Other / Beginners & Help / Acceptable temperature to mine GPU's with?
|
on: March 09, 2014, 10:59:46 AM

Hey all,
A couple of things, I have seen a few postings about cgminer and checking out the temperatures that the GPUs are running at. Usually it is about 75-80C? However, my GPUs are running quite hot between 95-99C?
1. What is the maximum acceptable temperature you should allow each GPU to run at? 2. How can I get my GPUs to run at a cooler temperature?
For question 2, I have following set up: - Power Supply: Corsair AX1200i Digital ATX '80 Plus Platinum' Modular Power Supply - GPU: 2 x Sapphire AMD R9 280X 3GB 384 Bit GDDR5 OC Full Retail Pci-E Graphics Card (SAPPHIRE Dual-X R9 280X 3GB GDDR5 OC) 11221-00-40G - CPU: AMD Piledriver FX-6 6300 @ 4.2GHz Six Core CPU - Motherboard: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AMD 990FX (Socket AM3+) DDR3 ATX Motherboard - Memory: TeamGroup Elite Black 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit - Cooler: Akasa AK-CC4013EP01 Nero 3 V2 Premier CPU Cooler - Case: Lian Li PC-8NB Midi Case - Black
What suggestions can you make to improve things?

gpu.surnova.cc, gpu.hashfever.com both rejecting... Rejected 03b8793a Diff 69/16 GPU 1 (Share is above target)
Deja vu all over again. he's not myning nscrypt he's mining scrypt fucking retard. err, getting started says: CGMiner ./cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://gpu.hashfever.com:3262 -u Weblogin.Worker -p Worker password So you are saying this is wrong...? great.. Yes thats incorrect, you need to be on vertminer. you are running cgminer. Install vertminer then put your bat into that folder and change the settings to what is on page 126 i think.. if that helps you. Thanks for your help. I did go back to look at the initial page and worked it out. Compiled vertminer and got that going... Well at least I learned something here and had a chuckle at the same time.
