Why is this website not secure?
The first direction for the paper wallet is to download it to your computer for added security. This points to a github link. Although there is https://torcoin.org/paperwallet/ however it is not recommended anyone use it.

Tried to deposit some Evergreen coin (EGC) to the exchange, didn't show up.
Emailed support with all the details, block explorer links, etc. No word for 3 days so far.

To compile the linux version did you follow the directions at the start of the thread, including all the various packages?
to actually compile cd src; make clean; make -f makefile.unix

I had not used either Novaexchange or coinexchange before. Last night I decided to pick up some TOR. I sent some Evergreencoin to coinExchange.io last night. The EGC hasn't shown up and an email to coinexchange support hasn't had any response for 18 hours so far. Novaexchange no problems.

Hi, I want to support this project by mining, but I'm having a serious issue with compiling on Ubunt - from sudo qmake onwards in the instructions on 1st page of this sub. Would anyone be able to help?
Instead of using the base makefile go to the src dir and make -f makefile.unix That worked for me, although I only made the daemon and not the full client

I'm also offering 500 TOR for anyone who creates a TorCoin faucet
I give you http://www.torcoinfaucet.comI'll gladly change it around with your input, including values of the faucet drips, how often, and any design thoughts. Feel free to PM me Right now it'll pay out every hour a small amount.

The singularity should be hitting around 20 years from now, probably from some specialized mining for an alt coin. At that point I don't think bitcoin will really matter

There are a variety of cam girl sites that take bitcoin, how is this not already covered?

I haven't seen any reports of anyone getting their money lately. A number of people won, got refunds, and then it appears alpha's bank accounts started being empty.

Over clocking to 300 MH goes that high .if ever get the cash for one I'll leave it at 230 mh and try to buy a second one later on ....i would think if you could over clock it to 460 that might make it 800 watts but i guess not and might be better off with two L3s with no over clocking.
The alpha miner has no overheating problem... since it doesn't exist

Spicer and other white house PR has now been spinning that since Trump used quotes around "wiretap" in 2 of the 4 tweets that he didn't mean specifically wire tapping of phones but the whole NSA/CIA is spying on everyone abuse of surveillance. Sure it took a week for them to start saying that, and forget he specifically mentioned phones. Facts don't mean much to this administration.

An employee of my family's business (Hardware, Plumbing and HVAC) stole a lot of things over time. His roommate eventually turned him in. Some items had serial numbers which could be tracked to prove they were stolen. The police confiscated everything he had stolen and said after the trial we'd get the things back.
After the trial we contacted the police about the items, they said they had already sold them at an auction. We didn't even get back what they had earned at auction.

Be careful just passing anyone you wallet.dat, that gives them your bitcoin. I'd suggest sticking to self help walkthroughs you can do yourself before resorting to possibly losing your coins.
Not to say the offers to help aren't genuine, they very well may be. However caution is warranted.

Here's what I changed to allow easybitcoin-PHP which doesn't require changing the php.ini for fopen. Bitcoin's dev wiki recommends not using jsonrpc directly and suggests easybitcoin-PHP. The easybitcoin library https://github.com/aceat64/EasyBitcoin-PHPAdd the library to the project : In common.php include('easybitcoin.php'); Remove the old #include('jsonRPCClient.php'); In wallet/classes/Client.php Change Row 12 : $this->jsonrpc = new jsonRPCClient($this->uri); to $this->jsonrpc = new Bitcoin($user, $pass, $host, $port);

I remember getting 0.2 BTC from an early faucet when it wasn't worth anything, a faucet used purely to get more people involved.
Nowadays a BTC faucet is meant to be profitable. If you figure the faucet earns an average income of a few pennies per 1000 ad impressions, you'll be earning less than 1/1000 of a penny from that faucet. That's a lot of faucet visits to make just a penny.
However some faucets can be amusing, some do a sweepstakes style one bigger winner an hour or whatnot. If you want to use a faucet look for the entertaining ones.

Are these people trolling or are they just tossing out tech terms they know nothing about?
Unless someone is on the Internet already then a proxy, VPN, HTTP, etc won't work.
For totally free stop at any coffee shop / place to eat / library. Many cities also offer some sort of free service. Do a search for "Free wifi near me" and there are websites dedicated to this.

While not illegal here the states I do notice that even recent media reports about Bitcoin talk about it being used for illegal purposes. Lately this seems to be the news :
Bitcoin hit a new record high Bitcoin is a digital currency that can be used for anonymous drug purchasing.
Forget all the regular day to day stuff the bulk of bitcoin transactions account for, let's focus on the few instances of bad.

I loved seeing the GameBoy space shuttle taking off when you beat the final level. It felt like work to actually get that.
