241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: cryptopia marketplace meets BUMBA coin. items for sale for BUMBA on: December 07, 2015, 05:03:19 AM
The tenga eggs went cheap. Bumba.. the coin for the happy ending!

The marketplace is still a rather quiet bidding experience. Not a whole lot of last minute swiping going on.
242  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the most expensive thing, you bought with Bitcoin? Does price matter? on: December 04, 2015, 06:30:30 AM

246  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst mistake you did with Bitcoin? on: July 28, 2015, 01:04:02 AM
Back in 2011 when I was mining 1+ BTC a day I was away from my mining equipment for a bit, it needed some babysitting so they were off. 50 days of mining downtime. Oops

-I bought a cointerra
-I bought an alpha tech
247  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anybody getting the nanocard? on: July 18, 2015, 07:40:25 AM
I'm 138, not going very fast. Plenty of time for someone to get free monthly fees if they do that for first 10K

248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was your last purchase with bitcoin? on: July 18, 2015, 06:19:47 AM
I donated to Rand Paul with BTC.

Before that it was a humble bundle game package
249  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Scotland to ban smoking in cars with children on: July 18, 2015, 06:12:42 AM
I see many kids being dropped off at the local elementary school with the parents smoking, windows up. This is beyond stupid.. then again multiple studies show that smokers are statistically lower educated and lower income earners, maybe they actually are too dumb to know this isn't right. Remember half the people out there have IQs less than 100.

The problem is where do you draw the line. If the kid is overweight and has a happy meal in the car is that ticket worthy as it's bad for the health?

250  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is a social norm in America that you feel is ridiculous? on: July 18, 2015, 05:58:10 AM
anytime someone dies and I hear someone say 'he's in a better place'.  If the person truly believes that then why don't they kill themselves? It's way too common, even the fast + furious 7 song has that phrase.

Blockchain has plenty of charts, they're pushing 4 million wallets hosted there. However no way to know how many are unique users.

Juniper research estimates only 1.3 million users in 2014 and 5 million users by 2019

I don't know of any exchange that could handle the amount of money wolf of wall street was making. Buying so many BTC on a regular basis would do wonders to the price I'm sure. Of course since they were shady crooked investors they could very well have become the first Mt Gox.

If someone wanted to be totally anonymous in some cash <-> BTC I guess they could hunt down every BTC ATM

253  Economy / Goods / Re: Girl Scout Cookies @ www.eatyummythings.com - limited time on: March 16, 2015, 05:25:15 AM
Tue is the last day to order from me until the sale starts again next year. Thanks for the support, it's going to be a close call if my niece gets to her goal.
254  Economy / Goods / Re: Girl Scout Cookies @ www.eatyummythings.com - limited time on: March 14, 2015, 02:31:18 AM
It varies by cookie how many there are. The shortbread and thanks-a-lot are larger cookies, thin mints are smaller. Others are in between. Each box has 14 ounces of cookies. I'll see about actual counts. I may just have to get a box of each for myself.

Different girl scout chapters charge different amounts. The region here set it at $4 so I can't get them any cheaper. I'm afraid I have to buy the cookies in fiat since girl scouts don't accept BTC, so I have to price them in USD. The local boy scout troop couldn't even take a bitcoin donation last year.

255  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Girl Scout Cookies on: March 10, 2015, 12:41:09 PM
Huh, here in the Netherlands we don't even sell scout cookies?
Is this a normal thing in the USA or whats the matter?

What kind of cookies do they bake?

The cookie sale is a yearly tradition and the biggest fund raiser for a girl scout troop. It funds most activities. The cookies are only available during the cookie sale season, which does vary from region to region. Nothing commercially sold has quite the same taste, they're really good.

Now, just to be sure. This isnt pot seeds right? Lol

While I'm sure it'd be easier to raise funds for their troop if it were, these are the normal girl scout cookies. Although having helped at cookie sales I have seen a lot of people drive up, pass money to a kid, and get their fix of cookie goodness.

My niece is trying to earn a Kindle this year by selling 1500 boxes.  So far she's sold over 1100 but she's a few hundred boxes short so I setup a website to help her along.  My driveway is the local cookie supply location so I currently have a trailer with hundreds of boxes of cookies sitting in my driveway in a frozen state (It's Michigan after all)

Shipping is the only downside but it's not that much of a problem with flat rate pricing.

Cookies are $4 a box.
I can fit up to 5 boxes in a mid sized USPS shipping box which ships anywhere in the US for $12.65.

I've set up a website using coinbase for payments. I'm doing things at cost.

Any questions feel free to PM me.

PS. The local girl scout troop also accepts donations for buying cookies and giving those to the local VA hospital. PM me if you're interested.

My niece is trying to earn a Kindle this year by selling 1500 boxes. So far she's sold over 1100 but she's a few hundred boxes short. My sister is the local Girl Scout Troop Leader and as I live across from the local school,  I currently have a trailer with hundreds of boxes of cookies sitting in my driveway (annoyingly close when I get a craving for thanks-a-lots). So I have the connection for any girl scout cookies anyone needs.

Shipping is the most annoying

Cookie tip: Toss some thanks a lot in the freezer for summer. The shortbread with chocolate coating on one side are perfect for s'mores season.
