So a couple of things.. #1 - that twitter account is fake, my account is the matrix_guru one... also web site was take down as soon as my identity was revealed for reasons I cannot discuss. #2 - YES that is me in the article above, back in 1998 I designed and deployed a large wireless ISP. By 2003 it had expanded to cover a large part of eastern Massachusetts. As it grew more features were added, like VoIP, QOS, and VLAN support. However market conditions changed with lower cost solutions available from the competition(Verizon deployed DSL in my community due to the threat)... The product was then upgraded to support a marine environment, which was deployed in Cape Cod. This network still runs to do this day, serving 11 Ferries and 50k to 150k (depends on season) per day. Please correct this from OP, its 5.5 blah blah mil coins and not:

This is the most beautiful scam ever. First dozens of mil, then 6 to 7.5 mil, than back to 5.5 mil. And hardly we can find people aware of this. Are people really blind? I guess the dev and his friends have (or had) at least 50% of all coins easily. This thing will collapse like nothing else yet... I hardly feel sorry for illusional people, but this is too crazy. To be fair the decision was made very public and heavily supported. There was a 51% risk on the hash and we were near the end of mining. For distribution and safety it was reduced. Pretty much everyone supported the decision at the time. Ok, show me the actual first post. It should be not after 21-22 may... It was after. It was near the end of mining, the hashrate went insane. I mean utterly insane, I've never seen so many SCRYPT hashes in one place and there was a genuine cause for concern at the time. It was at around 4.5mil I think. Bullshit. What is the problem then? Those miners would dump, keep the market in balance (force up, force down) and eventually the distribution would be much fairer. A much bigger concern is people had a few percent based on the total amount stated before, had multiple percent after. I hope not so fast... gradual rise is way better than shooting up so people can dump to take a quick profit. This coin definitely is for the long term with a strong dev that's not here to pump and dump. XLB like rise over such short time actually is bad for the coin ultimately I think. Oh ya, just looked at the website and Saw POW last 100 days only 13% through the blocks so I guess it wont get to high or the multipools will smash the price down as it becomes to profitable. Holding a little bit and can't wait to see the anon features! I wish we can cut POW down to 10 days... for sure the multipool will smash it if they get a hold of the profitability... Honestly, the whole "x11 coin" nomenclature idea needs to be dropped. Too much affiliation with Darkcoin.
Xnode Currency, Xnode Coin, or Xcurrency is the only three decent ones I can think of. The first one being my preference.
To my mind, even the "X" itself should not be set in stone. Why not invite some professionell guys to a contest. Winner gets bounty donated by community. A fresh start to rethink our corporate identity. |

Missing the benefits of a moderated thread... this place really gets ugly.

If u look at the top 100 richest adresses of xc distribution, it is still pretty centralized for a coin with that volume. Darkcoin has a higher percentage of top1000 holders which will also happen to xc. And that s a good thing although those dumps hurt. There will be many more weak hand shakin out their xc until this gem finally gets stable. If you have strong nerves on this bumpy track and hold, u might be rewarded in a way u don t dare to dream of now. To my mind it s a bet with a minor risk but a chance for a life changing reward.
Really looking forward to seeing a roadmap. Next to the peer view of the code, it s the only thing that will do as a shield against all this orchestrated FUD which is damn annoying by the way.

The "X" is not a must, to my mind it s rather a bump. I ll repost my thoughts about it, guys, please keep this brand discussion alive. XC is NOT a name, it s an abbrevation! Some guys here don t seem to get it. I think the current corporate design is not bringing it. We need a professional solution. snip

We all are more and more getting the idea of how big this one could be. This one definitely would have needed a professional designer with a relevant skill set to ensure a proper brand identity. This premature decision might reflect the current rush but it might not be the best for the coin's future marketability and competitivness.

Guys do you realise the significance of us debating on the name of the coin? Meanwhile in other threads, there is fighting, fud and madness. And us? "What name do we need to give our coin"  We got first class tickets to the moon and beyond.Yes, actually i realised the significance. But i can understand that you don t care about the name of the rocket ship that brings you to the moon. As long as it does its job. This all reminds me a little of our government making crucial decisions while people are going crazy during big sport events. No one cares but for the next goal. I don t like that style especially when the decisions to be made are so important. |

I like the name "XC". It is a simple and plain name, like "BTC". X-Coin is the best. X stands for mysterious, like every single transaction will be when sent to people. Mysterious transactions that can't be figured out  Get ready for landing at 0.025/ $13 per coin. BTC is not a name, it s an abbrevation. The name is so much better. Unfortunately you cannot say this about XC. |

I couldn't disagree more. First, it was unanimous that people wanted XC, just look a the reaction when it was changed. This means that the dev made the right call and listened to the community. Second, I have no problem coming up with marketing ideas already. Also, people on Twitter have taken note of XC and like it. Anyways the change has been made , we need to move on and develop the community as well as get projects going. With all respect for your work, the brand identy of this coin has not been given sufficient consideration. |

Would you stop saying the same thing over and over again, we got the message and agreed! we have already stated what we are working on, 2 of the devs are currently away one of them is the one that will be looking at anonymous sending, he is back in just over a week.
We are still working on the new website inc a news page and updates on the multipool. when there is more news we'll post more news.
Part of the problem is we're all holding the coins, there are 360k coins on poloniex, and less on bittrex and 14m total coins.

Do you think i like to be annoying or that i am driven by some kind of vanity? I just vehemently demand sharing of information to keep this community connected with Badgercoin. I m still truly thankful for what you do, like we all are. To stompix, If you believe that kills a coin, then you need to reconsider your belief in the entire POS system because that is how all POS coins work. There is nothing that limits actual use, besides, have you seen the coin now? It's not exactly alive. Go look at Blackcoin mktcap, we can be higher than that. What this does is it simply magnifies the POS portion, but only for the longterm holders. Believe me, there will still be plenty of shortterm buyers and sellers. Implementing Advanced POS and then adding anonymous features could be the perfect storm combination that takes this coin from "dead" to number 1 in volume on Poloniex.
Stompix general thoughts about currencies are correct. Additionally, looking at POS, its main purpose is independance from POW. The network survives just by people leaving their wallts unlocked. A very good concept because it s efficient not only concerning power consumption. Reducing supply because people baghold is a side-effect but is not the main purpose of POS. Nevertheless, I think your idea is interesting. But before raising mid- or long-term interest we really need to focus on reviving this coin by stimulating demand. |
