1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is here/Phase 2 Redemption begins[Updates&Discussion] on: November 02, 2014, 05:03:17 AM
So I'm confused.

I do not see my name on the chain.nem.ninja page.

Phase 2 Btt Stakeholders Redemption Guide

End of Phase 1 on October 31, 2014 (yeah, Halloween)

Phase 1 will end on October 31, 2014. Anyone who is a stakeholder on btt (not on the NXT AE) and hasn't registered his token until this date, will have the opportunity to redeem his stake during the extended period after launch under the already announced limitations outline here https://medium.com/@xtester/extended-redemption-period-d6e7ceaf3a53.

This will also mark the beginning of phase 2. As soon as phase 1 is over the portal will be adapted for phase 2 and we'll let you know once it's ready. When it is ready, btt stakeholders will need to register their real NEM-addresses (starting with 'N'). You'll need to enter your token and an address that you have generated according to "Phase 2 Redemption Guide" which you can see above.

The bolded part is unclear to me? Register where?

I have my NEM address starting with N.

Any help would be appreciated.

Go to https://chain.nem.ninja/stakes/ and enter your token and your NEM address.

Thanks.

Hi Guys,

Beta is here. very exciting.

I see the phase two instructions for NXT AE stakes. Has Step 3 started for the original stakeholders that used the bitcointalk accounts? Can't find anything saying one way or the other.

Would someone mind explaining how the POI system will work? Simplest explanation possible would be great.

I'm not sure a multi pool is in NEMs interest. The value of this technology should be derived from the underlying technology. The value should not be derived from an influx of BTC/NEM buys at the onset. To me this screams pump.

Be involved in cryptos, I thought we are all capitalists here. Let's let the markets decide price and value.

Hi Everyone,

Need some advice please. I got interested and started investing in cryptos last year and am lucky enough to be one of the stakeholders in NEM (huge potential).

With that said, my main concern is security. I had no idea the ease at which people could hack accounts until I started reading all the horror stories about crypto thefts. No I am using >50 random key passwords. I feel more secure but at the same time it is a pain in the ass to remember and to type in. I have been looking at password wallet options like Dashlane and wanted to get everyone's opinion on the best options out there.

Are Dashlane like solutions reliable and safe? They still require a password so aren't they still hackable? I feel like it's a huge catch 22. There has to be a better option than storing your passwords in a safety deposit box.

Thanks as always.

Hi i see that waiting list is closed for this coin how do i know if i succesfully qualified for receiving a stake or not?
I posted in this thread weeks ago https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=467027.380 but i received no answer.

You're in the waitinglist. It means you'll literally have to wait Smiley
The stakehodlerlist + refundlist will be released soon. After that we'll know how many stakes are unclaimed and how many people from the waitinglist can join.

That's what the waiting list means? Ahh...makes sense now.

Nice to see that NEM is going forward!Though the process is still slow Grin

I don't think process is slow, considering what has to be done. Of course this is somewhat subjective.

I agree. Patience is a virtue. Apparently a virtue some of our members are lacking.  Wink

The problem with africa and mobile apps is, that most cellphones there are not capable of running apps. While it would be nice to "capture" the cellphone payment marketshare, it won't work, until africa upgrades its hardware!
I think we should invent cheap smartphones and then spread them there

Haha that would be awesome. NXT/NEM sending africa to the 21th century!

"A sub-$50 no-contract smartphones are already a reality today. The MTN Steppa. It’s a pretty bad phone: Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, 2MP camera, single-core processor, 480×320 HVGA screen. But it’s a genuine smartphone nonetheless, with a 3G antenna, Google Maps, Gmail, Facebook, Opera, and YouTube. And it retails for less than fifty dollars (no contract.) "
www.techcrunch.com/2014/02/08/in-3-5-years-most-africans-will-have-smartphones

In Kenya, cell phone usage increased by 4,000,000 users last year. Kenyans use cell phones for everything from buying groceries to paying rent. Kenyans pay $20 for cell phones with banking, streaming, and communication capabilities. kenyasocialventures.com

A simple app that can just send and receive NEM would be a great starting point. We can team up with a few entrepreneurs or business students at a local university and donate a few $50 smartphones. I am sure they will find NEM useful for one of there projects.

+1. Totally agree. The faster we establish NEM as a currency and not a commodity, the better. Need to differentiate ourselves from all the other faceless coins.

Hi,

I am posting here as it appears I am not on the stakeholder list even though I have sent NXT.

Feb 8th. 9PM EST.

I am guessing I am not on the list as it looks like my account may have been only setup for 'multiple stakes'. Simply put, that is false.

I did setup up the account for NEM but that was only to gain my SINGLE stake. Truth is, I am new to crypto's, read the forums everyday, but do not post as I am not yet savvy enough to contribute with meaningful content. I am still learning.

Please update the stake holder list to include me. If you need further proof that I am a single person with a single stake PM me and we can figure something out.
