161  Bitcoin / Meetups / About time for a Blockchain Conference in Nigeria on: August 29, 2018, 09:14:06 PM
Not a lot of blockchain-themed conferences and meet ups organized in Nigeria despite having a teaming population of youths who are blockchain and cryptocurrencies enthusiasts. The last time I heard read of such conference was one which was planned by the NO BS Crypto team, which has not really materialized yet. I'm not one who has the clout for such events, but I think organizing one will help create more awareness about the blockchain tech and cryptocurrency investments.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop SCAM in the ICO market on: August 29, 2018, 09:01:17 PM
Scam projects have become very sophisticated, fancy in appearance and appeal, that it is almost difficult to spot them at first sight. Scam projects can do as much get on exchanges, yet without real dev work going on. They lead the investing public on for a while and then they exit. Hoping to see how your platform will spot and prevent scam ICOs, as in practical terms I'm wondering how this is achievable
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stellar Lumens is crazy on: August 29, 2018, 07:27:44 PM
The fundamentals are just right for Stellar Lumens at the moment, especially with the partnership announcement, this is the reason it's doing well in the market
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MONERO, YOUR PRIVACY AND THE GOVERNMENT on: August 26, 2018, 11:41:43 PM
Monero is very promising project as for me and as for other members here, anonymity is vvery important here and I am really afraid of banning Monero by government.
It is doing great  really, among the most successful privacy coin in the market. Its potential for further growth is enormous especially if the issue of privacy becomes of paramont importance

Privacy coins are against the ethics of government were full transparency is often required. It will be difficult for monero or any privacy coin out there to go mainstream, except within the crypto circle.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Are you still using MEW? on: August 26, 2018, 11:15:40 PM
I'm still using MEW as I consider it one of the safest wallets out there. It's true some of its developers left to start mycrypto project. But that doesn't mean MEW is now an abandoned project. Just ensure you prioritize your safety by ensuring you don't enter your private keys on a phishing site.

RIP John McCain.

A real American patriot.

He'll be dearly missed.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How long will bounty programs stay with us? on: August 25, 2018, 12:11:29 AM
While this question/post is repetitive as it's been asked before, bounties are here to stay. This is because ICOs will always have need to promote their project, and as such the services of bounty hunters will always be in demand.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs are too expensive on: August 24, 2018, 02:13:45 AM
I have been waiting to buy into ICO's in 2018 as well.  It's not like the gold days of 2016.  If you like a project wait for it to ICO, then crash.  Buy in a few weeks after the launch.  I have had great success with this strategy.

I've only investing in one ICO in 2018, and they too didn't do well in the exchange. The coins are almost becoming dust in my wallet. Just like you, buying when they tank at the exchange has been renewed strategy and it's working for me
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs are too expensive on: August 24, 2018, 01:22:15 AM
I have a problem with ICOs requesting ridiculous amounts in both their softcap and hardcap. Personally believe a project should not be asking for more than between $15,000 - $20,000. They end up making so much for themselves while their tokens stand a huge chance of tanking upon listing on exchange
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It can still happen again on: August 23, 2018, 11:34:49 PM
I was just thinking and imagining the bull run that happen toward the end of last year when the crypto market became a cake of enjoyment for everyone. The story is on the contrary now. I am wondering and disturbed that can it ever happen again? My wallet coins are reducing in value daily. I am not completely sure if it can happen again.... somehow I still have little believe it may. Do you think it will happen again?

The chances for a bull run are still very high, heck, it's just August. Things happen so fast in crypto. Never forget that.
171  Other / Off-topic / Re: About Tithes & Offerings on: August 22, 2018, 01:00:34 PM
Still trading and invest in promising ICO but it depends on the market hopefully we can see a green for 2019 unlike this year.

Wonder how this is related to the topic. Did you even read it at all? Or in your quest to spam you just typed whatever
172  Economy / Economics / Re: How to scam people for money on: August 20, 2018, 11:55:43 PM
The problem is that most part of investors In cryptocurrency market is not enough educated in the principles of the market operating so there are more opened to a different scam ICOs.

Just to add: Many think investing in crypto is some get-rich-quick scheme that can double your investment real quick, so they just dabble into it without any knowledge about nothing. Again, you can't really blame some of these guys, because someone would have introduced them to the crypto world and would have done some job painting it all and green and rosy, a land flowing with milk and honey. So they come in and get hit with scam projects due to little knowledge
173  Other / Meta / Re: Together we can remove multi accs in bounty on: August 20, 2018, 11:08:38 PM
This is a forum for discussions about Bitcoin and we all know bitcoin is all for privacy. Advocating some KYC shit won't even be considered. For me, OP wasted his time with that long ass post.
174  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need Help! Jr. Member on: August 20, 2018, 10:39:43 PM
So I am 3 activities away from being a Jr. Member..... Anyone here that can help me??? What would I do once I become a Junior Member
Same thing you do as legendary member. You just enjoy beign here, helping others, learning about bitcoin, sharing knowledge you already have.
Im not sure why people are so much focused on ranks.

Not too many are here to learn and share knowledge gained, ranking up is of topmost priority to them. I guess the merits system helps to keep that under check to a very large extent. For me, this forum is like a school. There's absolutely no topic on bitcoin and alts that has not been touched and discussed extently, so if anyone has the intentions of learning before earning, then they'll be better off.
175  Other / Off-topic / Re: About Tithes & Offerings on: August 20, 2018, 09:43:13 PM
I believe that mandatory tithes and offerings are not included in the teachings of the bible. According to the bible, we should give wholeheartedly. This means that there is no such requirement for us to practice tithes, but rather we can give money based on what we love or want to give.

You're right, there should be no compulsion in giving neither should those who don't pay tithes be demonized.
176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Early BTC adopters still hodling? on: August 19, 2018, 11:16:37 PM
Early is subjective, today's buyers could be considered early in 10 years. I'm sure many are split and the holder persona is strong with many.

This is absolutely true. Adopters today would be termed as early adopters in 10 years time. But the trueth remains that most guys who mined or bought bitcoin in the early didn't have the patience to hodl till now and the reason isn't farfetched, they didn't see the future, they didn't know it would become this big. Some people were just playing around with it and it was nothing serious
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Bitfinex a SCAM? on: August 18, 2018, 05:01:34 PM
Most exchanges have bot trading in them and there's nothing the SEC can do about it. Mind you this is the same way there are bots in the forex industry
178  Other / Off-topic / Re: What’s HODL? on: August 18, 2018, 02:50:34 PM
Hodl is one of the jargons in the crypto world and it means to HOLD on to your coins for a while and not sell.
179  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Trump Be Re-elected? on: August 18, 2018, 01:59:32 PM
In less than two years time, Americans will go to the poll again and elect their president. Looking at how the event unfolded in the last election which brought Donald Trump as the president of the most powerful nation in the world, then many analyst predicted that Trump will not win the election which he later won, the prediction of 2020 election has started again but my question is will Trump go against the odds once again and win his re-election  bid?

Gerald Ford wasn't re elected.

Bush Sr. wasn't re elected.

They were way, way different than Trump.

There's a pattern here and look them all, Republicans if I'm not mistaken. Huge possibility he won't be reelected.
180  Other / Off-topic / About Tithes & Offerings on: August 18, 2018, 02:27:12 AM
Christendom has seen a lot of criticism and backlashes stemmed from the manner in which tithes and offerings are being focused on by churches, especially the Pentecostal folks. We've seen how they quote scriptures to back their demands from members and seem concentrate on profiteering from members, which is a form materialism. You end up seeing church owners living lives of affluence and riches.
Some of these guys compel their members to make these payments, they make them sow seeds, ridiculous amounts of money. What's your take on this?
