Christendom has seen a lot of criticism and backlashes stemmed from the manner in which tithes and offerings are being focused on by churches, especially the Pentecostal folks. We've seen how they quote scriptures to back their demands from members and seem concentrate on profiteering from members, which is a form materialism. You end up seeing church owners living lives of affluence and riches.
Some of these guys compel their members to make these payments, they make them sow seeds, ridiculous amounts of money. What's your take on this?

I believe that mandatory tithes and offerings are not included in the teachings of the bible. According to the bible, we should give wholeheartedly. This means that there is no such requirement for us to practice tithes, but rather we can give money based on what we love or want to give.

You're right, there should be no compulsion in giving neither should those who don't pay tithes be demonized.

Personally I don't see giving out thithes as something that we are to do,  it was never said that Christians should do so.

Your greatest show of love is in giving, giving that isn't mandatory but of free will...
