301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Changing the rules in the End of the Bounty Campaign is a form of Abuse on: September 10, 2019, 05:34:06 PM
In most cases it's stated that the team and bounty manager have the right to alter rules or rewards. This doesn't necessarily mean rules should be altered to cheat bounty hunters promoting the project. Some change of rules are genuine but most are unfair. For instance, if total supply of coin was slashed, and total number of coins allocated for bounty is reduced, then it's OK. But if the reward is slashed for no reason, it's unfair.
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Last 3 Months of 2019! What is your prediction about the Market? on: September 10, 2019, 05:00:58 PM
I don't really see any major move in the market at this point especially for altcoins. Bitcoin dominance will continue since there are news like halving which haven't taken place. I really do not know why altcoins have been dipping generally, but let's hope attention goes back to altcoins since holders make better gains from alts. I thought BAKKT news will move the market but it failed to.
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is whitepaper important in the project? on: September 09, 2019, 02:52:27 PM
Yes whitepaper is important, it gives a breakdown of the project vision and mission. But whitepaper alone should not be the only source for one's research, since some information might be deceiving. You can always check for plagiarism to know if whitepaper was largely copied from another source or not.
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of this Exchange jetxcoins.com on: September 08, 2019, 02:30:20 PM
I've gotten a few private chats from scammers looking for gullible people to trick on telegram, I think jetxcoins is one of the scam sites. At first I was wondering why someone would want to give me login details to help withdraw his funds, saying his country is restricted blablabla.  On a second thought, I sense scam and blocked. Now it's clear, they ask for deposit to withdraw, a trick to catch greedy people. Let's be wise and very careful.
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: if no one wants to buy coins in bull market what will happen? on: September 08, 2019, 05:47:39 AM
On the contrary, bullrun happens because more and more people are placing buy orders hoping that price keeps soaring high.  If everyone keeps placing sell orders, definitely the price dumps drastically. There are no two ways about it.
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how do you identify a transparent project team? on: September 07, 2019, 09:38:18 PM
It's very difficult to know a real team considering the high level of imposters out there. LinkedIn profiles help a lot but can't really be 100% accurate in helping identify fake team members.  Normally, I believe a team more when they do video AMAs on YouTube, although this doesn't even guarantee that the project is legit.
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sleeping giant altcoins on: September 07, 2019, 07:44:09 PM
Some of those extremely high gains you see have negligible volume, so it's fake increase. Well if you are looking for coins to invest in for good gains, check some with low market caps that have a product and good team with steady development updates. I would have mentioned some but won't, so it doesn't look as though I'm chilling them.
308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you staking or mining, or both? on: September 06, 2019, 10:48:18 PM
I'm a hardcore fan of POS algorithm, I do more of staking presently.  Staking doesn't require tools and also no energy requirements like mining. Staking (especially free staking which doesn't need masternode) gives fair dividends just for holding the coin and that's cool by me. Mining is not so profitable for small miners, that's the issue.
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB bought JEX and airdropping JEX tokens on: September 06, 2019, 04:07:10 PM
This is a really good move by Binance, CZ is a genius. I'm astonished at the fact that Binance still assigned some of its team members to push on with JEX vision as a competitor. This is good news for BNB holders since they will be getting airdrop for holding BNB, more great updates keep coming from Binance.
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the new trend? on: September 05, 2019, 08:43:32 PM
And who said IEOs are dead? The IPO idea is fair but in my opinion, it doesn't really pose a threat to IEO. While I'm not a chaser of new token sale trends, I do not think IPO will replace IEO. Before drawing some conclusions, do proper analysis. IEOs still do very well, an example will be the just concluded TOKO IEO on Kucoin spotlight. I believe we all should be looking at means to make crypto have more long term relevance and not sort for new token sale trends.
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Brandt: 99% of Altcoins Will Be Forgotten in Five Years on: September 05, 2019, 06:17:10 PM
There is some sense in what Peter is postulating but I think 99% stated there is an exaggeration. Some few projects are doing really well and in 5 years time, if there are no general severe setbacks in crypto, they will still exist. I was expecting to see projects like EOS, XRP,  XLM and a few others as exception but the reverse is the case.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Would you participate in new project if it is not listed in ICO rating websites? on: September 04, 2019, 09:33:00 PM
It's true that some ICO rating sites like ICOBENCH and ICODROPS give more info about a new startup project, but I don't entirely rely on their ratings. Hence I can participate in a token sale even if the project is not rated on ICO rating sites,  if I think the project is great and has huge future potentials.
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to invest my $1.5K? on: September 03, 2019, 09:04:26 PM
Firstly, you made a very good decision to invest 1k$ in BTC. For the remaining 500$, I will suggest you look at XLM, XRP, EOS, ICX, LINK. Do your due diligence on these coins and decide on which to invest or better still try to key in IEO on some reputable exchanges like Binance, Huobi, OKEX, kucoin, trade.io with proven success in IEOs for good profit.
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO and IEO running at same time for same project on: September 03, 2019, 04:14:58 PM
Some projects which did ICO in the past and didn't hit hardcap are now porting to IEO to achieve their crowdfunding goal. An example is Pledgecamp which did ICO and recently IEO on OKEX. The confusing aspect is when start-ups do both ICO and IEO from onset at same time, I don't really think it makes much sense. They could have opted for a reputable exchange that will make their token sale very successful.
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How crypto exchanges secure our funds? on: September 02, 2019, 05:25:15 PM
Exchanges keep funds safe by using cold wallets. Also security measures like Login passwords, transaction passwords which is normally different from login passwords,  2FA verification, sending verification links to emails, secret words, IP tracking etc have been taken by exchanges. Talking about exchanges securing your funds, please only send funds to exchanges only when you want to trade since it's proven that no exchange is above hacking, Binance had a lil pinch of the cake if you can remember. Well, decentralized exchanges like Changelly with instant exchange are safer comparatively.
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM ICOs, what we can do? on: September 02, 2019, 03:31:20 AM
The rate of scam ICOs reduced with the introduction of IEO, but this doesn't mean some IEOs are not scam too. Right now nothing can be done to punish scam ICO team members, since there are no laid down regulations with regards this and this is why unverified team members come up with ICOs. We can only do our part by notifying others when we spot scam ICOs with valid proof. Well, authorities have investigated and nailed down very few outright scam in crypto space, let's just hope with time this issue of scam will be tackled.
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think of tokens you promoted and invested down 90% on: September 01, 2019, 11:51:55 AM
The team members can't entirely prevent price from going down for a long time, even if they use strategies like buy back. When price of tokens drop massively on exchanges, it's probably because investors lost interest in the project especially when there is no update from the team or maybe when the team members or private investors decide to dump a whole lot of tokens, thereby picking any available buy order. Talking about investing in ICO, it all depends on the particular project but most are not worth it.
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in multiple altcoins on: September 01, 2019, 04:06:22 AM
Investing in multiple altcoins is OK but there are some factors to consider; for instance the capital used for investment. With 370$, I will suggest you limit your portfolio to not more than 7 coins max. The top 10 coins like ETH, XRP, LTC, XLM etc will be ideal but for good profit, do look at some really promising projects with low market cap.
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No matter how hard you look at crypto, there is lots of improvements so far on: August 31, 2019, 08:40:20 PM
I agree with you, there have been tremendous improvements so far since crypto sprouted. Improvements in blockchain architectures, more applications of crypto and blockchain in diverse sectors, growth in overall crypto market capitalization showing that more and more people are interested in crypto. More mainstream news, although we are yet to achieve mainstream adoption fully.  Finally improvement in crowd funding for new crypto startup projects from ICO to IEO.
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounties keeps getting worse on: August 30, 2019, 10:44:51 AM
The points here are true, especially for those who read the whitepaper and trust the project then go ahead to do the bounty. Whitepapers might be deceiving, some team members might have contrary motives. Some projects will showcase an MVP but yet will never develop the actual product. In essence, scrutinize a project very well before doing the bounty, so that even if at the end your efforts don't worth it, you did your best with due diligence. Most times with proper due diligence, the bounty pays off well especially when the funds allocated is escrowed.
