Usually the IPO is a risk investment which makes it easy to scam. In my opinion it is pretty easy to set up a contract that obligates the developers to reach certain targets or else to pay back the initial investment. This of course would mean that the price of ethers would be higher than in a common IPO, but by doing so it would turn into a real community project. Higher security would ensure people to jump in and give the whole project a higher sustainability. People are less likely to sell-off, developers are less likely to drop the project.

Easy as that.

Now, why is noone doing so? The answer is obvious: there are still enough people hoping for fast money and developers that don´t see the inherent problems in this way of promoting their project.

Today people are laughing about the trade and how you could be a millionaire if you would have just held the BTC.

The point is: without the people that spended the money, BTC wouldn´t have established as payment system and the price would probably be less than in "the old times"

Bitcoin - maybe not innovative and having its flaws but by far the best infrastructure and biggest community

Quark - active and fun community, ongoing innovative infrastructure projects, fast transaction, 6 types of encryption

NXT - innovative concept, I really like that it is eco-friendly like no other coin and it has coloured coins.

Ethereum - also not on the market and much more than a coin. Like NEX this is for me a promising and visionary project that is worth to invest in

Dogecoin  - Huh, Dogecoin? From a long term perspective Doge is probably a not sustainable project but it contributed to the public knowledge of Altcoins like no other coin and has for sure a likeable non-stuck-up community

I agree with prometheum, a good exit out of a messy situation. Some wont be satisfied but as far as I see there is a yay mayority.

I also think you should step aside and leave it this way. After this desaster the most important thing is, to find a solution that the community can agree about. None of them is fair for all. As it seems there is no way to undo comitted errors. The best we can do is learn from this experience and move on.

What are all those QRK worth without a strong community? We wont have that without conciliation.

Some of you act as if investing the 120K in infrastructure projects was the same as disappearing with the money. What is wrong with you?!

There was no contest thanks to multiple cheating long before martijn made it unquestionable and you all know that (excepting the user Ashmasser who still pretends that everyone but martijn played 100% fair).

If there is any trust shattered, then certainly not by FlipPro but by the people who sabotaged the contest to steal the money.

I always pledged for a new vote, but I can understand your decision. Still, the debate of a professional QRK branding seems important to me, even if some community members (I don´t see a uniform statement from the community) prefer to stick with the old logo. I don´t know if its possible to gather our designers again. It would mean that people were willing to forgive, to forget and to start from scratch. We have lots of talented designers in our community which is a huge potential for Quark. It would be too bad if this potential was gone only because of this contest.
