I have the same question.

How to configure a second computer, using cgminer to connect to server. First computer can mine fine, but I can only connect to localhost (127.0.0.1). Can't connect a second machine. Ping works fine both ways.

Thank you! That sounds too easy (aside from the impossibility of solving a block in the first place) that it would know to use that first address, but easy is good I suppose.

I know it's impossible to solve a block on solo mining, but if somehow someone got really lucky, what would be the message be using cgminer? I can't find any documentation on cgminer messages.

Also, even if such a miracle happened, how could cgminer know where to put the coins if all it knows is the local Bitcoin server address and port? I mean, it doesn't know any Bitcoin address - does the server just randomly pick one from your client? Very weird.
